Good morning y'all and Happy Mothers Day! Looking forward to seeing you at Church this morning!

Central Lutheran Church, Easter 2020 (I was at the church this morning to turn on the chimes for the neighborhood and saw the sky and brightness for one of the moments it was crystal clear. I had to take pictures of the sky and the trees. Happy Easter, everyone. Harold)
What a meaningful and deeply worshipful service. Thank you
Our Facebook live stream went down and we restarted. please join our new stream and celebrate with us.
I recorded this with the hope that it provides some peace and comfort during this uncertain time. Please excuse the typo of the title....it should read Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing....I didn't type that and I cannot change it. Enjoy!
In this uncertain time I find myself turing to God through song. I hope this brings you some peace and comfort. We may be apart but we are always together. Much love to you all!

Evangelical Lutheran Church in America

"Let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action" (1 John 3:18).

Sharing from our neighbors at First United, read below for the Pastor's message.

From the Pastor: We need God’s help as the coronavirus plague continues, as unemployment grows, as death stalks the streets not just from recognizable criminals, but those expected to protect and defend, as charges from high offices and the streets counter one another. We look exactly for help, for calm waters, and for a quieting of the roar and tumult. Just as the darkness of the night breaks slowly to gray before full daylight, we can look for God’s strong presence during these times, look for evidence that people can change their bias, can restore peace, can recover from the virus. And we can consider if now is the time for us to take our place alongside God, working to change the events shaking our friends and neighbors, challenge the influence of people trying to roar over the sound of legitimate protest, and counter the actions by some foaming up to cover the truth. We can act because no matter the changes to the earth around us, God comes purposefully for us.

Let us pray: Lord lead us by your presence. Alone we falter, yet we look to you to prevail in our lives as well as in our culture. Let us hear and live your Word, in Jesus Christ, Amen.

88. Spirit, Spirit of gentleness - Central Lutheran Church, Dallas

for Pentecost
Spirit, spirit of gentleness,
blow through the wilderness, calling and free,
Spirit, spirit of restlessness,
stir me from placidness, wind, wind on the sea.

You moved on the waters, you called to the deep,
then you coaxed up the mountains from the valleys of sleep;
and over the eons you called to each thing;
“Awake from your slumbers and rise on your wings.” ....

Minneapolis Area Synod, ELCA

Bishop Ann Svennungsen's Prayer for Minneapolis:

“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, how often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not.”

We join Jesus’ lament, keening at the brokenness – broken bodies, broken lives, broken systems. We plead for God to gather all people and all systems under her wings, empowering us in the hard work of justice and transformation.

By your Holy Wings, Mothering God...
- Enfold and comfort all who grieve the murder of George Floyd
- Tenderly care for those who’ve been traumatized once again by this death
- Spread your protection over all who tirelessly give themselves to provide care and comfort
- Prod the county attorney to swiftly prosecute the officers involved
- Sweep out the racism in our criminal justice system
- Uncover the sin of white supremacy that has plagued our city, state, country, and our individual lives
- Move us all to repentance, to radical change – joining hands with all to rebuild our communities in the way of justice
- Hover continuously over our city, inspire us with vision to imagine a new way of being community; and a new resolve to work toward that vision.

"Minneapolis, Minneapolis, O how Jesus longs for us to wake up, to name our sin, to see our complicity, to recognize every single person as a beloved sibling. The time is now."

O Day Full of Grace - with text (for singing)

Day of Pentecost

Follow along with a bulletin: CentralLutheran.org/bulletins

Our services reflect where God is acting with grace through our broken world. However, today's message has been recorded before Pr. Truhan's surgery and therefore does not mention recent events. Please know that we have been praying for our siblings in Christ who suffer at the hands of violence and racism. Jesus grieved when people suffer unjustly. And so we, too, cry out against the sin which destroys relationships and human lives. On this Day of Pentecost, we are attentive to the breath of the Holy Spirit - may that breath fill us to work for peace and justice when human breath becomes shallow.

In our prayers today we add the following intentions:
- We pray for peace and healing for Deanna, Hannah, Jason, Lexi, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Robert, Lela, Ashlynn, Stephanie and Shanna.
- We pray for the family and friends of Leslie Baker.
- We remember and celebrate the life of Louis DeFuria.

Today is Pentecost Sunday! Join us for worship right here at 10:30. The bulletin is on our website at
