Wow. Sounds like awesome venture. I am old but going to school online for environmental science. My schooling could probably benefit from the environment with some volunteer work at your clinics. If i can be a support with something "hollar' at me. I have been to watermark few times but it kinda big and young for me. I did make a contact there by the name of Gordon Burgett. I plan to start attending the mosaic church in Richardson on sunday.. God bless. Joseph

What's Watermark Health?
We're so glad you asked.

For the last 5 years we've been running a ministry that serves the physical and spiritual needs of tens of thousands each year...but this might be the first time you've heard our name.

Watermark Health is the board-governed 501(c)(3) that oversees Watermark Urgent Care: A Partnership with QuestCare Medical at Skillman and in Plano. We will be using this page to share stories of life change and invite you into the adventure God is writing through our two clinics. Invite your friends, grab a coffee, and enjoy reading the stories of what God is doing in our midst.

Our prayer is that these stories would remind you of how big our God is.

"When I wasn't able to find the healthcare my kids needed I felt ashamed...like I was a bad mother. I found out about this clinic when my son needed some casting done. The staff took care of both me and my son and connected us to the right resources to get his injury taken care of. They looked at us like normal people, not like a charity. This experience was a blessing, and I left feeling like a better parent." - Marta

"Serving at the clinic means I get to do medicine the way I always hoped I would." -Chris, PA

This year we have been reminded yet again that our clinic isn't only blessing our patients, it's also being used to bless and grow our volunteers and staff. As you consider where to steward your end-of-year giving, we'd love to invite you to invest with us in the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Heath works next door to our new clinic in Plano and met our nurse Laura one day as they were both taking out the trash. She shared with him that the clinic was for the uninsured and under-insured and told him to come by if he ever had an urgent care need. Within the first few weeks of the clinic being open, Heath found himself registering to be seen as a patient for back pain.

Since then, Heath and and his wife have visited our clinic as patients multiple times for coughs or colds, and most recently to find out that they were pregnant.

But it's not just the excellent healthcare that has Heath coming back.

"While I was there, one of the volunteers drew a picture with some words and a verse to describe to me how God loves me. In Iraq I saw some things that make it hard to believe God could exist."

With each visit, the clinic staff and volunteers continued to invite Heath and his wife to learn more about God and to visit Watermark to find community.

"I finally told my wife that we should give Watermark a shot. I knew I needed to be there. Not just for me, but for my kids. I want to learn how to be a better dad."

Heath and his wife have continued to glean from Watermark’s resources on parenting and visit the clinic regularly to talk with the staff and volunteers there. Our clinic staff enjoys his visits during the work day and count it a privilege to get to watch as he continues to learn more about God and His ways.

"I lost my faith in Iraq and I'm still trying to find it. Watermark has been like a yellow brick road for me...helping to point the way."

"The other doctors I've been to don't put their hands on you. They just ask 'What's the problem?' and throw pills at you. At Watermark Urgent Care they actually checked my complaints, got to the root issues, and then helped me make wise decisions about my health." - Heath

As you consider where to invest, we'd love for you to partner with us to ensure we can continue to provide excellent healthcare to the uninsured and underinsured. https://www.watermarkurgentcare.com/donate

Rochelle and her husband struggled with addiction to heroine for 5 years. Through a series of circumstances that were clearly the Lord seeking after one of His lost sheep, she lost any ability to get more drugs and found herself in a local ER for 2 weeks, suffering from withdrawals and infections in her old injection sites. When she was discharged, the ER referred her to a rehab program where she has been working to stay clean since June of this year.

While at the rehab program her infections on her injection sites continued to bother her. The rehab center told her about Watermark Urgent Care- which had a new facility nearby in Plano.

Rochelle and one of her friends from the rehab facility arrived in our clinic on July 31st and got to meet our staff and volunteers. While on site our nurse Laura and PA Julie got to hear Rochelle's story, pray with her, and remind her of God's love. They drew out the bridge illustration on the table paper and asked Rochelle if she were to die tonight how sure she was she'd end up in heaven.

Rochelle said she thought she was about 70% sure she would go to heaven, feeling guilty for the past pains she had caused while struggling with her addiction. Our clinic staff reminded her that God's love and grace covers all sins and that we can be sure of salvation, based on the truth in scripture, if we simply believe in Jesus and receive His invitation for a relationship.

Rochelle and her friend started to go to Watermark Plano that weekend, and haven't missed a Sunday since. They also regularly come back to the clinic to visit with our staff and volunteers. They are meeting weekly with two of the clinic volunteers; studying their bibles together and learning how to follow Christ. Rochelle still has the drawing of the bridge illustration that changed her life with her, folded up inside her new bible. "I hope I can use that same drawing to share with others about Jesus now."

When Rochelle thinks back to that first visit at the clinic she laughs.

"My friend and I came in that day for medical reasons, but we both left saved. We didn't expect that. But we're thankful it happened."

Our Story

From day one our clinic has been a story of members of the body of Christ raising their hand, volunteering their specialities, their time, or their finances to make a common goal happen inside our four walls.

In August of 2013, we opened our first clinic at Skillman and LBJ to serve the acute care needs of the uninsured and under-insured residents of Dallas County. After 5 years of seeing God grow our reach, hours, and services we saw a need and an opportunity to open a second location to the north in Collin County in May of 2018.

At both clinics we treat acute care needs such as fevers, coughs, colds, infections, asthma, minor trauma/injuries, and lacerations. We also aim to care for the whole human being in front of us, not just the physical needs. Walk-ins are welcome, no appointment needed. No insurance or identification required.
