In light of today’s General Conference of the United Methodist Church, the Bonhoeffer Community extends a space for grief and a word of comfort to all. The Bonhoeffer Community will continue to be a space that affirms all humanity, welcomes those of all sexualities, and prioritizes the inclusion of all around the table. We will continue to be a safe space for those to come in out of the literal or metaphorical cold for a meal together. We remain a community held together in Christ, and we continue to believe that all together we bear the imago Dei, the image of God.

You there, on the right or left, you are welcome here. You there, however you identify, you are welcome here. As a community of Christ, we are and will continue to be resurrection people. Whatever comes next for the people called Methodists, as the Bonhoeffer community we will continue to seek to be made in the image of Christ’s love.

All are welcome here. You are welcome here.

Grace and Peace,
The Bonhoeffer Community

We as a community are so sad to hear about the passing of our dear friend Matt Burroughs. He was an integral part of our community, while he was at seminary. He came regularly for our meals, and we will dearly miss him.

Thomas' Bonhoeffer Graduation

Our dear friend and house member, Thomas Borowski, will be transitioning out of the house this Saturday for the next step in his journey. We will miss him and wanted to make sure we sent him off the right way, so we did an impromptu "graduation" for him this evening. Enjoy!

In light of the events that have happened over the last 48 hours and the situation in downtown Dallas, very close to our home, the house has been in prayer this evening.

We grieve and pray for our black sisters and brothers.
We pray for grieving families
We grieve for the loss of life of God's beloved children

Friends if you need space, we are willing to offer space to listen

Bonhoeffer House was so blessed by the anchor church, Grace United Methodist Church/ Dallas, TX!
Your hands on our shoulders, prayers, and smile empower us to create a family in Christ with our neighbors. :)

Merry Christmas from the Bonhoeffer House and a big thanks to Ryan's mom and her fiancé Jim for bringing gifts and taking everyone out for breakfast at Denny's!

Last night the community went together on a 'surprise' trip for all the guys. The surprise was Whirleyball! The evening was filled with so much zany laughter and joy from this wild and crazy event. One of our neighbors said "that was the most fun I have had in years!" It was wonderful to see these men who endure so much on the streets to be freed just for a little while to be themselves and to have an opportunity to play. This is our hope here at Bonhoeffer, to provide opportunities where our friends can find a healing space where we can offer spiritual and emotional rest from the harsh realities of the world.

Feel free to look at all the pictures ( most are blurry haha)!
