I started out at an early age of 9 drinking beer, escalated to other things as I got older, my life was already spiraling down hill, my last drug was crack cocaine. Mom worked at night while my brothers and sisters call themselves watching me. I was having sex and drinking got pregnant at 16 life was over as I knew it. I became homeless staying with all kind of guys. With my schemes I thought I had it all together got knocked in the head I just ran right into a wall, literally. That's how drunk I was I was knocked out lay there in the snow for God knows how long. I was then introduced to rock cocaine, that they call crack. My own brother turn me out. My mother thought it was my boyfriend I tried to explain to her it wasn't. She hated him, my 3rd baby daddy. You see by then I had 3 kids that was going through my addiction with me. They were kind of young and I kept them busy playing, reading or something just to keep them busy while I did my drugs. My family came and took my children before CPS did... but that didn't stop me, Ima do my drugs right, homeless, was still receiving that check though from Social Service, it was ona card so I didn't hafta worry bout no address, that's how I supported my habit for a while. When that check stop I started to prostitute... that's when I started going to jail. I had boyfriends while I was prostituting they didn't seem to care, they were homeless with me, long as I brought something back for them. I moved to Delaware into a Salvation Army got clean for a while, thought I was ready to leave that, huh.. with a man no doubt.. thought I had this thing called recovery, I stayed clean for at least 18 months. I was going to meetings and everything... trying to stay clean but of course I started tricking again, for money this time. I started sneaking crack into the house while my boyfriend was at work, one of the guys I was seeing was selling crack. Stop going to meetings. We moved to Dallas Texas in 2000 I got pregnant my fourth child, yes I was still doing drugs and tricking, found some new stuff and things, okay did that for a little while until I had the baby thank God she look just like him and that's not funny. You know what I've been through hell and back... we had been living in a motel room and I acted like I was going to meetings and when I came back to the room he was getting high with some guy, I was like where's mine so that was the end of my" 18 months". He continued working to keep a roof over our heads as well as drugs in our system... evidently he didn't care about the baby I was carrying either...so my lil happy ass kept on smoking, drinking, and tricking till one day I got caught with the manager's boyfriend in their room... Nevertheless we got put out pregnant and all. So we went to live with his cousin until I had the baby. Later I got an apartment on Section 8 lost it because of drugs tricking and other stuff that was going on. Police even was bringing me home. Until one day my husband because we got married in a shelter decided he and another guy wanted to beat up one of my tricks after I left the house. He called the police took my husband and my baby was taken CPS... Homeless again living wherever we could. I just kept going back and forth back and forth to jail... police they didn't want to see me on the street no more... I was going to see my daughter at CPS but I was still getting high so her aunt, his sister have full custody of my child she is now 19 and I am 58 it's been a long over 40 years God is Good!!!... God has showed me Grace I now have victory over my addiction I have been reunited with all of my children even though I still live in Texas. My oldest boy almost 40 is married my second child a daughter 35 live here with me in Texas for two yrs and now has her own place with four of her six children, my youngest boy 30 still in Baltimore with his father and my youngest daughter now 19 graduated last year and now works she is still with her aunt whom she calls mother...none even smoke or drink...imagine that...lol.... I am now a proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren including my now husband in which I've been married to for 10 years now coming up on 11 in Dec. we got together in 13 yrs ago in 2006 when my journey began with God head of my household..... Amen Now if I forgot to add some things I'll mention them when it comes to mind... Thank you all for reading and your understanding❤❤❤❤ to God be the glory... He is my Sponsor!!!

We seek to evangelize and disciple chemically dependent people who will in turn, evangelize and disciple other men and women for the Kingdom of God.

The Adult Rehabilitation Ministry (ARM) is a 501(c)(3) organization that began in 1989 as part of the Outreach Ministry of the Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church to fill a need within the Dallas/Ft. Worth area to help individuals struggling with chemical abuse who were unable to help themselves. The late Pastor Emeritus C.B.T. Smith envisioned a ministry that would meet the needs of chemically addicted men through a faith-based recovery program. The recovery ministry includes narcotics anonymous and alcoholic anonymous (NA/AA) support meetings, biblical counseling, as well as group and individual sessions. The program is six months to one year with participants residing in houses on the campus of Golden Gate and includes a daily curriculum administered by the program director.

Mission: To transform chemically dependent individuals through loving accountable relationships, family restoration and a Christ centered 12 step residential treatment program

ARM narcotics anonymous meeting. Chapter 5 in the basic text. What Can I Do?

[10/09/20]   Today our Director and the ARM facility became a TDCJ approved Batterers Intervention and Prevention Program!

Let’s stay motivated in our recovery!

[10/07/20]   Loving a drug addict or an active alcoholic is the hardest thing you will ever do. Watching someone you love, who has fought so hard to beat addiction, throw everything away and sink back into a life that will most likely lead to jail or death, is one of the hardest things you will ever do. All you wanted was to help them back to a clean and sober life but you realize by doing this, as you have before, will now just be enabling them because it will show them that you will always be there to bail them out. You want to grab and shake them and say "What are you doing?!?!" But, at some point you realize that it wouldn't make a difference. So you sit back and watch the tragedy unfold, as if you are watching a movie. Feeling helpless to stop it, feeling like you haven't done enough to help, even though you know only the addict can help themselves.
Battling a drug and/or an alcohol addiction is a beast for the person addicted and the ones who love them. So l am asking you to stand with me in prayer for every family member and friend who has lost or is losing their battle with drugs and alcohol and those who continue to conquer it! RIP, Allen M and Joe W.

Put this on your page if you know someone who has or had an addiction.
