This week we will be celebrating Palm Sunday. We’ll reflect on the coming of our Lord into Jerusalem, riding on a donkey. Normally a king would come riding on a horse. But a donkey is considered a symbol of peace, not war. This is a vast difference from how Jesus’ second coming will be. Instead of riding on a donkey, he’ll be riding on a white horse. Instead of coming in peace, he will come to take back what is his. He is a conquering king.

What is our responsibility? First, let us acknowledge and rely on Jesus as our savior. This means we submit to His lordship in our lives and we find hope in knowing that not only is our Lord here with us, but He is also preparing a place for us. The second coming for us will in fact be a joyous occasion. We have been redeemed and our God wins.

In light of Christ’s second coming, we are to give witness to as many people as we can, of who Jesus is and what He means for us: our testimony. In his first coming, we can see his humanity, but in the second coming, we will see His lordship, and we get to benefit from both. What we have in this “between time” is not something that can be taken lightly or something that we find rest in, while others don’t. We need to make sure that we are going forth with the good news of the gospel.

Pastor's Pen from Titus
The first coming prepares us for the second. He didn’t leave us without preparing us for what’s to come. In this preparation, we are to share this news with others so that they too can be citizens of the Kingdom that is coming, yet is already here.

So during this time of celebration, let’s not forget that we still have work to do: we are to give witness to the good news of the Gospel.

The Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20)“ Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

NHBC Sunday Service Feb 21st

Welcome to Church NHBC Family

Photos from North Highlands Bible Church's post 02/19/2021

As many of our neighbors have unfortunately experienced, a few pipes at the church burst Wednesday morning. But God is good. He provided fire fighter neighbor who turned our water off and a restoration company has extracted the water and is drying out the building. Titus reminded us that this is God's church and it will be great to see what he does through this.

Due to the pipe bursts at the church, we will only have a livestream service this Sunday.

Fortunately, the sanctuary is mostly unaffected, but we will NOT have any first hour classes or in-person service this week because the water is turned off throughout the building. Looking forward to seeing you all here on Facebook.
