: When God gives you a dream that other people are afraid of and you go for it anyway, you will be misjudged and misunderstood. You have to decide what matters more to you: the approval of other people or the approval of God.

[09/16/20]   The dictionary claims that "to resent" is "to take strong exception to (what is thought to be unjust, unfair, etc.)," but I feel that resentment goes much further than that. If I were to define resentment, the definition would be very similar to those of other words found here in the obstacles section: A poison emotion that eats away at a person's peace of mind, mental well-being, and ability to treat others well. Resentment is a lack of acceptance and a lack of forgiveness. Resentment says volumes about the person who resents, but very little about the people or actions that are resented.
It's very easy to fall into the trap of resentment--other people put us in position to do so almost daily when they do things that are unthinking or uncaring. Someone else may get the job or the admission into a school even though you're far more qualified; someone may not invite you to a party to which they've invited everyone else; someone else may meet with great success even though they don't work nearly as hard as we do; someone may say something rude to us or about us behind our backs.
We cannot allow other people's actions, other people's negative personalities to cause us to become resentful. Where resentment is concerned, I like to keep in mind Earl Nightingale's words: “the world doesn't care”. He explains that the world is impartial. We are what we are and we aren't what we aren't, and no amount of resentment is going to change that.
Let the world go on without that promotion or with those words having been said about you because on the day you die, these things will mean nothing at all. Why allow them to mean something today? Why allow them to rob you of the peace of mind that may make this day very pleasant? The cloud of resentment like the cloud of anger or jealousy blocks out the sunshine! Sunsh

. I've had times in my life when I've been quite resentful of things that have happened that have hurt me considerably, both emotionally and financially. I've held on to the resentment against the people who did what they did for quite a long time--months, even years, even though I tried very hard, on a very conscious level, to rid myself of the feelings. No matter how hard I tried, though, the feelings stayed, and they always crept back into my mind to haunt me. They made me miserable, and I didn't know how to deal with them.
I realized that for me to be free of resentment of those who harmed or shamed me was to forgive…and blot out the acts and mean words spoken. First I had to forgive myself for blaming me for the acts that caused the resentments…for questioning what I had done wrong, rather than put the blame on them, I carried the burdens they should have been carrying…They, not I….had said and done things that caused me, not them to hurt! So one day I wrote down the names of the people who had harmed me on a very small piece of paper, and drove down the highway, as I was driving down the highway, I took each paper, looked at the name, thought of the person, then said aloud: I don't allow your actions to have any more power over my life."
I then threw the piece of paper out the window of my car, never to be seen again. People who hold on to resentment are hurting themselves a great deal, and they usually don't even see it. They're poisoning their minds and their bodies with stress and negative feelings, and they're holding back the happiness and contentment and peace of mind that could be theirs if they could only get rid of the clouds and the walls that are holding the positive things back.

[09/13/20]   The Importance of Character Traits
In the Book of Genesis there is an interesting contrast between the selection of Rebekah as Isaac’s wife (chap. 24) and Jacob’s choice of Rachel, rather than Leah (chap. 29). Abraham sent his oldest and most trusted servant to select a wife for Isaac, within the guidelines he laid down (24:2-4). The test which the servant wisely devised (24:13-14) was one which revealed the character of the young woman--she would be a servant at heart, willing to give water to the stranger and his camels.
Jacob, on the other hand, chose a wife for himself. He was unwilling to marry Leah, the older daughter, even though that was the accepted custom in those days (29:26). Jacob favored Rachel over Leah, not because of her character, but because of her looks and her personality (29:17). Later developments seem to establish the fact that Leah was God’s preference while Rachel was Jacob’s. Leah outlived her younger sister, for example. Leah and her handmaid bore twice as many children as Rachel and her maiden. Leah bore Judah, the one through whom Messiah would come, and Levi, the leader of the priestly tribe. It was Leah who was buried in the cave of Machpelah, beside Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebekah (49:31), while Rachel was buried along the way to Bethlehem (35:19).
What Genesis teaches us in practice, Proverbs teaches us in principle--a man who would marry well will choose his life’s mate on the basis of her character, not on the basis of her looks or her personality.
Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised (31:30).

Motivational Inspirational Positive Quotes

A wise teacher once brought balloons to school, told her pupils to blow them up and write their name on one. After the children tossed their balloons into the hall, the teacher moved through the hall mixing them all up.

The kids were given five minutes to find the balloon with their name on it, but though they searched frantically, no one found their own balloon.

Then the teacher told them to take the balloon closest to them and give it to the person whose name was on it. In less than two minutes, everyone was holding their own balloon.

The teacher said to the children, “These balloons are like happiness. We won't find it when we're only searching for our own. But if we care about someone else's happiness...it will ultimately help us find our own.”

Christian Motivational Quotes and Verses

Satan called a worldwide convention. In his opening address to his evil angels, he said, "We can't keep the Christians from going to church. We can't keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth. We can't even keep them from conservative values. But we can do something else. We can keep them from forming an intimate, abiding relationship experience in Christ. If they gain connection with Jesus, our power over them is broken.
So let them go to church. Let them have their conservative lifestyles. But steal their time, so they can't gain that experience in Jesus Christ. This is what I want you to do, angels. Distract them from gaining hold of their Savior and maintaining that vital connection throughout their day." "How shall we do this?" shouted his angels. "Keep them busy in the nonessentials of life and invent unnumbered schemes to occupy their minds," he answered.

"Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, then, borrow, borrow, borrow. Convince
the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work six or seven
days a week, 10 - 12 hours a day, so they can afford their lifestyles. Keep
them from spending time with their children. As their family fragments, soon
their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work. Over stimulate
their minds so they cannot hear that still small voice. Entice them to play
the radio or cassette player whenever they drive, to keep the TV, VCR, CDs
and their PCs going constantly in their homes. And see to it that every
store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblical music constantly. This
will jam their minds and break that union with Christ. Fill their coffee
tables with newspapers and magazines. Pound their minds with the news 24
hours a day. Invade their driving moments with billboards. Flood their
mailboxes with junk mail, sweepstakes, mail order catalogues, and every kind
of newsletter and promotional offering, free products, services and false
hopes. Even in their recreation, let them be excessive. Have them return
from their recreation exhausted, disquieted and unprepared for the coming
week. Don't let them go out in nature to reflect on God's wonders. Send them
to amusement parks, sporting events, concerts and movies instead. And when
they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and small talk so
that they leave with troubled consciences and unsettled emotion. Let them be
involved in soul winning. But crowd their lives with so many good causes
they have no time to seek power from Christ. Soon they will be working in
their own strength, sacrificing their health and family unity for the good
of the cause." It was quite a convention in the end. And the evil angels
went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get busy,
busy, busy and rush here and there. Has the devil been successful at his
scheme?

YOU be the judge.

New Vision Worship Center,

We serve an All-powerful and an All-knowing God who will never leave us or forsake us. God is Lord Almighty, Omnipotent King, Lion of Judah, Rock of Ages, Prince of Peace, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Provider, Protector, Paternal, Leader, Ruling Lord, and Reigning King of the entire universe. He is Father, He is Helper, He is Guardian, and He is God. He is the First and Last, the Beginning and the End. He is the keeper of Creation and the Creator of all He keeps.

The Architect of the universe and the Manager of all times.
"He always was, He always is, and He always will be. Unmoved, Unchanged, Undefeated, and never undone. He was bruised and bought healing. He was pierced and eased pain. He was persecuted and bought freedom. He was dead and bought life. He is risen and brings power. He reigns and brings Peace.

"The world can't understand Him, the armies can't defeat Him, the schools can't explain Him, and the leaders can't ignore Him. Herod couldn't kill Him, the Pharisees couldn't confuse Him, the people couldn't hold Him! Nero couldn't crush Him, Hitler couldn't silence Him, the New Age can't replace Him, and Men can't explain Him away!

"He is light, love, longevity, and Lord. He is goodness, Kindness, Gentleness, and God. He is Holy, Righteous, Mighty, Powerful, and Pure. His ways are right, His word is eternal, His will is unchanging, and His mind is on me! He is my Redeemer, He is my Savior, He is my Guide, He is my Peace. He is my Joy, He is my Comfort, He is my Lord and He rules my life.

"I serve Him because His bond is love, His burden is light, and His goal for me is abundant life. I follow Him because He is the wisdom of the wise, the power of the powerful, the ancient of days, the ruler of rulers, the leader of leaders, the overseer of the overcomers, and the Sovereign Lord of all that was and is and is to come.

"And if that seems impressive to you, try this for size. His goal is a relationship with ME! He will never leave me, never forsake me, never mislead me, never forget me, never overlook me, and never cancel my appointment in His appointment book! When I fall, He lifts me up. When I fail, He forgives. When I am weak, He is strong. When I am lost, He is the way. When I am afraid, He is my courage. When I stumble, He steadies me.

"When I am hurt, He heals me. When I am broken, He mends me. When I am blind, He leads me. When I am hungry, He feeds me. When I face trials, He is with me. When I face persecution, He shields me. When I face problems, He comforts me. When I face loss, He provides for me. When I face Death, He carries me Home! He is everything for everybody, everywhere, every time, and every way.

"He is God, He is faithful, I am His, and He is mine. My Father in heaven can whip the father of this world, and so, if you're wondering why I feel so secure, understand this : He said it, I believe it, and that settles it. God is in control, I am on His side, and that means all is well with my soul."

Perhaps you are wondering, "Where is God?" Allow me to answer that question with complete assurance: He is with you.
