We welcome the Topete Family! Rudy and Nikki have been happily married for 14 years. Rudy has served in multiple church roles including youth pastor, campus pastor, teaching pastor and lead pastor. Rudy and Nikki are beyond excited to join the family at Tyler Street! As life pastor, Rudy will lead the youth department and serve in the associate pastor role. We're preparing a prayerful setting, prayerful music, and preparing for our prayerful work together. A nursery is available.

Good Friday Service
April 19
7 pm in the Sanctuary

We gather this night to remember the sacrifice of Christ on our behalf. This meditative service will be a time of deep reflection and tender singing as we ponder the mystery of Christ's death on the cross. The service will conclude in silence and darkness as we await the celebration of Christ's resurrection on Easter morning.

Join us this Sunday, April 14 @ 9:30 & 11:30 am. The waving of palm branches, the music and voices will open both morning services as we prepare our hearts and minds for the coming of the Lord!

Children and parents are invited to join us for our traditional Palm Sunday procession during the 9:30 am service. Meet on the front steps of the sanctuary (on 10th Street) at 9:15 am. No child is too small to participate as they will be walking and waving palm branches with you as a family. We encourage all families to participate and join us for an amazing service!

Daylight Saving Time begins this weekend. Remember to set your clocks ahead 1 hour this Saturday, March 9. See you in church Sunday!!

Join us at 6 p.m. tonight in Yeats Hall for a delicious meal and fellowship. Then, gather at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary for a moving Ash Wednesday Service in preparation for the Lenten Season.

This is a time of prayer and reflection. We will receive ashes, our Sanctuary Choir will sing, and Shelton will play beautiful music on the organ.

Do-It-Yourself Christmas Pageant!
Sunday, December 16

We need lots of audience members to cheer on our kids and maybe even play a part or two! The program starts at 6 in the sanctuary and it's going to be fun and interactive. The choir will be singing and the bells will be ringing. Youth, children, and music are all involved-you don't want to miss this!

We invite you to join us this Sunday for Christian Education Sunday. All Students and Education Staff are invited to bring their backpacks, briefcases, tote bags or tool belts to worship service. We’ll have a special blessing to begin the new school year surrounded by prayer.

This Sunday, we will welcome Rev. Jeff Garrett and his wife Cindi to Tyler Street Church.

Jeff grew up in Garland. He graduated from UT Austin in 1986, and was called to ministry that same year. He went on to graduate from Asbury Seminary in 1992, and was ordained an elder in 1994. He served three years as youth pastor at Casa Linda, and 26 years in pastoral ministry at Whitewright, Lake Highlands, Kessler Park, Chapel Hill, theTable, Forney and Cedar Hill. He has been married to the delightful Cindi for 30 years and is "crazy in love" with her. They have four grown children, Austin, Hannah, Alyssa, and Marshall.

Jeff likes movies, worship (both kinds!), laughs, and V8s with stick shifts. He fights with electronic gadgets, is a lifelong Batman fan, and likes hearing "you don't look like a pastor." He is moved by God's word and by bringing it to life.

There will be a welcome reception for the Garrett Family in a couple weeks, so be watching for details!

Jeff and Cindi are thrilled to be appointed to Tyler Street. They know us, they know our community, and they are very excited about our ministry together.

"It has been a privilege serving Tyler Street, and it is now a great honor to begin passing the baton to Pastor Jeff Garrett. Jeff brings incredible gifts and joy to Tyler Street! I am super excited about his ministry and Tyler Street’s future!" - Ed Lantz
