Pastor Robert Guy: Message: Don't Be a Dead Useless Tree Scripture: Mark 11:12-14, 20 The bible says Christians shall be like trees planted by the river, bringing forth fruit, with leaves that do not wither, being prosporous in everything he/she does. With that said, In the book of Mark, Jesus saw a fig tree from far off. His expectation was that the tree would provide fruit. Jesus approached the tree and found nothing but leaves. I imagine Jesus was disappointed. The scripture tells us Jesus cursed the tree. Stop for a moment and think on that. As a child of God, you are a tree. The expectation is that you should bare fruit. Strive to be planted and rooted in the word of God, cultivating the proper conditions to bare much fruit. Someone is depending on your tree for fruit. Don't disapoint. Be the tree that is always in season, providing ripe and ready fruit that will satisfy hungry souls.
