The Way of the Cross Bible Church

We believe that the one and only true and living GOD, an infinite and intelligent SPIRIT; whose name is JEHOVAH is the maker and ruler of Heaven and Earth; that in unity of the GOD HEAD there are three persons, THE FATHER, THE SON, and THE HOLY GHOST

Enriching lives through the Word of God

THE VISION And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.Hab 2:2-3 The Vision Unveiled: Early in his ministry the Lord gave Elder Andrew S. Guy Sr. A dream. In this dream Elder Guy saw ants coming up through the floor boards of this church. Many ants continuously coming up. Those of us who are aware of this dream have held on to it for many years, realizing what God was speaking to our founder. “Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise Prov 6:6” The scripture encourages us to consider the ways of the ant, her wisdom and her work ethic. The ant though small in size is able to lift and carry many times it’s own weight. The ants in Elder Guy’s dream represent people, people just like you and I. A vast army of dedicated soldiers rising up and standing fast in the truth of God’s word. People with the mind set and nature of the ant. People with a commitment to stand together and work endlessly and tirelessly in the ministry of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. People with purpose and a goal to build up God’s Kingdom. The Vision Actualized: In 1971 this church was organized as the Way of the Cross Mission by the late Elder Andrew S. Guy Sr. God had placed the desire in his heart to start a mission. Elder Guy wanted more than anything for men, women, boys and girls to be saved. Elder Guy originally set the mission facilities up in West Dallas, but the Spirit of the Lord continued to speak to him about moving the facilities to Oak Cliff. Usually Elder Guy traveled in the same direction every day as he made his way home. On this particular day in 1971 however; the Spirit of the Lord led him in another way. When he got home he shouted to his wife the Late Mother Katherin Guy “I have found the Place” He subsequently contacted Mrs. Mary Burch who was the owner of this old grocery store. Mrs. Burch was a Spirit filled women and God had also spoken to her. Mrs. Burch’s earnest desire was to sell this building to Elder Guy. Elder Guy was faced with many obstacles and difficulties from city officials as he worked tireless to get this old grocery store in shape. Many years of wear and tear and neglect were on the walls, floors and ceilings. Mrs. Burch worked faithfully with Elder Guy and would not take any rent on the building until he got everything straight with the city. In addition to that she also gave money to help facilitate the repairs. Elder Guy worked many long hours in and effort the get the doors open and with his monetary resources growing thin God spoke to another Spirit filled women Sis Pauline Pemberton who found out how many 2X4’s Elder Guy would need, she then went to the lumber yard and had them sent to the building. The building was finished and the doors were opened. From 1971 to 1973 Elder Guy faithfully served this community. In 1973 Elder Andrew S. Guy Sr. went home to be with the Lord.

Mission: Since GOD has called us as ambassdors of the salvation message; we believe it is imperative that we use all of the time, effort, energy and materials that GOD has given us, to reach the lost in Dallas and worldwide, with the message "THAT JESUS SAVES." We believe that CHRIST, through the HOLY GHOST, is able to use us in making Disciples of others. This is the greastest responsibility and authority that men can ever have. In order to accomplish this task, we will worship together and evdeavor to teach, preach and train others so that GOD"S purpose is also our purpose; assuring that those we encounter will have heard this message before JESUS returns.

7 Habits That Can Help You Avoid Backsliding The more time you spend with God, the less time you have to get in trouble.

[12/16/16]   Wait On the Lord!

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

The blessing is not only in waiting, it's in how you wait.

[12/13/16]   Even when life gets fickle, God is faithful.

Set it at the feet of Jesus and forget it!

Mark 11:24KJV

24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Receiving from God is not difficult at all. In fact, it’s very easy. When our parents took us to the store as children our eyes would light up as we looked at everything we wanted. We would ask our parents because we had faith that when we asked them they might say yes as long as we had a good relationship, and faith to ask. God works with the same principle. If you weren’t right with your natural parents what are the odds that you would get what you needed? Not high at all right? You can’t receive anything from God with dirty hands or if you want me to go deeper: a dirty heart. If you are believing God for something it’s easy to correct your relationship with Him. Just say your sorry for the sin you committed whether you remember what it is or not. God knows everything about you and everywhere you have been. He can remind you if you ask Him to. After you completely turn away from the sin and ask forgiveness from it don’t let it bother you anymore. The devil will try to condemn you about it, but that’s when you speak the Word to him because there’s now NO condemnation. [Ro 8:1] I learned that when I ask God for something the answer is always yes as long as it aligns with God’s will. For ex. You cannot ask God for someone else’s wife! What you are asking God for may take time, but during this time of waiting your faith is growing and you are growing. Don’t worry you will see God deliver. Trust me!

When you ask God for your desires believe that you have it already after asking and you will see it before your eyes!
