My name is Joseph and I am 40 years old. In August of last year, I was admitted into the hospital for congestive heart failure. My stay in the hospital extended past the time my job allowed and I lost my job. My unemployment began having a tense effect on our household. With tension building between me and my wife, divorce was inevitable. Though I had family, I ended up homeless because of my pride. One day, as I was walking across the parking lot of a QT in Ft Worth, I saw a CareCenter Ministries van and at the same time, a gentleman approached me with a flyer. He asked me if I wanted to go with them and I said “sure, why not?”

When I arrived at CareCenter I was filled with pride, unforgiveness, and bitterness. I knew of God but had no relationship with Him. I never gave God credit for anything. I turned my back on anyone who said they loved me and I was ready to give up on life.

That day God showed me I was still important to Him. The love I feel through the spirit of God, from Pastor Kennedy and the guys in the house, reminds me that He is still looking out for me. Now I can say that I have a new found love for relationship with Christ and I’m ever so grateful for CareCenter Ministries!

😃Green beans are rich in vitamin C and A, and contain minerals like manganese which helps your metabolism and bone health! 💪
Green beans are a low FODMAP food! 🌱
FODMAPs are unique carbs that are resistant to digestion. Bacteria in your gut use those carbs for fuel, producing hydrogen gas that leads to digestive issues. Eating foods low in FODMAPs can ease tummy trouble in individuals with common digestive problems. 😋

👉If you would like to invest a little bit of time into the health of your family you can volunteer here any day of the week! Call or text Julianna for details (214) 284-3678

💕Jesus came for a harvest of souls. He is Lord of the harvest, and his plan begins with discipleship, which creates the laborers who are then sent in peace ☮️. This past Saturday, Sojourn Church 👏 labored with the CareCenter Team to host Sidewalk Sunday School at Regis Square apartments with 13 PARTICIPANTS RESPONDING TO THE GOSPEL WITH PROFESSIONS OF FAITH! Go Jesus! 💚

"He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."" Matt 18:3

❤️ TESTIMONY THURSDAY 💙

My name is Curtis and I was born in Tacoma, Washington, just outside of Seattle. Growing up I was mostly around my cousins because my dad was in the military and my mother had to work. Around the age of 13, I began smoking ci******es and ma*****na. By 14, I was a rebel running the streets and, because I was subjected to an environment of pills and alcohol, I succumbed.

As time went on, I dove into harder drugs. Then the feelings of loneliness started to really affect me. I was heartbroken. The drugs did not have as much of a hold on me as the alcohol. I could not go a day without drinking. The more I drank, the worse my life got. I pushed friends away, fought with my loved ones, and made multiple failed attempts at su***de.

I would go to church, pray, and read my Bible throughout my battle with alcoholism. After surviving a bad car accident and going to jail, I cried out to God for sobriety. While being booked in, I met a man who had his life turned around through CareCenter Ministries (before turning himself in on an outstanding warrant). It was the answer I had been searching for. It was my opportunity to connect with God and regain discipline and self-control, and learn to love myself again. God has put extravagant dreams in my heart for the future once I graduate! I am so grateful to God for bringing me to CareCenter so my life can become the life He desires for me.

God’s will for every Christian is to understand His Gospel message,
🗣to know how to present the message, 👈
and to speak it without fear or shame. 👈
Pastor Kennedy of the Ft Worth men's home in partnership with our faithful friends at Capstone Church (Benbrook) helps our program residents learn how to share the Gospel in the most effective way possible: hands-on evangelism. This past Saturday, 3 people made confessions of faith in Ft. Worth.
On the other side of town The RACE Men's program, under the direction of Pastor Zach Pittman, led 2 children in professions of faith at Sidewalk Sunday School!
“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Rom 10:14).

🏆 TESTIMONY THURSDAY 💐

My name is Cooper. I was raised with a Christian family on a small west Texas farm.
When I found Christ for myself, I happened to be in county jail, looking for a way to pass some time. I joined a bible study group and began reading Christian books. I remember reading “10 Steps Toward Christ” by Jimmy Evans. That is when I first asked God into my heart and prayed the sinner's prayer and received His forgiveness. However, as soon as I was released from jail, I went back to old ways and ended up in prison.

After completing my sentence, I ended up in a major hit and run accident. I sustained a traumatic brain injury that left me in a coma for 3 months. Doctors told my parents I would never walk or talk again and could wind up a vegetable for the rest of my life.
God wasn’t finished with my life and I survived! I walk and talk with just a little stutter.
I had another real encounter with the Lord, but this did not stop me from drinking. This go-round I caught a new felony and wound up back in prison for the 2nd time.

With nowhere to parole out, the Lord led me to CareCenter Ministries and they have given me a home while I go through this process of sanctification. This time my commitment is different and I am so thankful that CareCenter is walking beside me as I become a disciple of Jesus Christ!

General information

CCM was established in 1986 to address the issues of addiction, poverty and crime through the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are in the business of reconciliation, transformation, and restoration. CCM began with a small food pantry and a heart to see the poor become productive members of our community. Since then it has grown to become one of the leading care giving ministries in the heart of urban Dallas, providing services to substance abusers, ex-offenders and those living in poverty. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: (Hosea 4:6 KJV) In many ways, the solutions of the past have only perpetuated the problem. To arbitrarily hand out resources without accountability—failing to address the issues of character and moral responsibility– only creates a cycle of dependency while draining the resources and energy of the giver. The Word of God provides us with a time proven plan for transforming poverty into productivity. CareCenter Ministries is a member of the Fellowship of Connected Churches and Ministries and submits to its apostolic oversight for the purposes of reproducing and extending the biblical model of Ephesians 4:8-16.
