What is transgender? The world has developed terminology to account for its confusion. It uses words such as homophobic, transgender, and acronyms such as LGBT. In actuality there is no such thing as transgender. A person is either male or female. Now we do understand there are times children are born as hermaphrodites. That is possessing both sexual organs of a male or female. This is different and the dominant gene will eventually take over. But transgender is a cultural construct that is intended as an assault on God.
The person is saying I am not who I actually am, I am not who God made me as. Defiance to God that says it is within my power to make myself into what I want to be, what my puny human brain says I can be. This reminds of the time God,in summary, told Job where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth, when I set the boundaries of the ocean. In essence you were not around and couldn’t understand if I told you. But fast forward and now humankind thinks they can determine one of the most fundamental foundations in creation. Genesis 1:27 NIV
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
And now we think not only can we change Gods word, we believe we can make a better choice than God himself. One of the things that doomed Lucifer was his pride. He wanted to be like God.

Introducing the AWANA Club Program
We are excited to announce that the AWANA club program will be coming to Central Pointe this fall! AWANA is a non-denominational Bible club for children and youth from ages pre-school to high school. AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed”, taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. Their mission is to “reach kids, equip leaders, and change the world for God.” AWANA helps foster not only a relationship between youth and God but with their peers, parents, and youth counselors.
Clubs will meet Wednesday nights at the Dallas campus starting September 4th and will run concurrently with the adult Bible classes. Early registration is $35 and will increase to $40 after July 26; however, anyone can enroll at any time during the year. Registration includes all books and materials for the entire year.
Please don’t be deferred by the cost! Fundraising opportunities for purchasing your child’s materials are available. The full balance must be paid before we can place an order for your child’s materials. More information about AWANA is available in the Agape bookstore at the Dallas campus and the Welcome Center at the Mesquite campus. For questions and concerns, see Charlotte Lee or Jasmyne Simmons at the Dallas campus or April Brown or Phil Tolliver at the Mesquite campus.
Do you have enjoy working with kids? Do you want to help foster our youth’s relationship with God? Well we need you! With the start of the AWANA clubs, we will need teachers and volunteers to assist in helping our classes flow smoothly. Training will be provided for those interested in teaching. If you are interested, please sign up in the Agape bookstore at the Dallas Campus or the Welcome Center at the Mesquite campus. For more information, see Charlotte Lee or Jasmyne Simmons at the Dallas campus or April Brown or Phil Tolliver at the Mesquite campus.
