Check out these fun facts about Israel!
Did you know?
Fascinating and interesting facts about Israel:
1) Israel leads the world in the percentage of plastic bottles it recycles.
2) Water-saving “drip irrigation” technology was invented in Israel as part of the national commitment to cultivating the Land of Promise in spite of water shortages.
3) Many Jerusalem apartment leases include the unusual formal stipulation that “if and when the Messiah comes, the lease is void and the tenants must move out.” Talk about a “state of anticipation...” 😀
4) About 93 percent of Israeli homes use solar energy for water heating, the highest percentage in the world.
As Paul stood on Mars Hill, the shadow of the Acropolis loomed. His passionate dialogue in Acts 17, implored the Athenians to learn about "the unknown god" which Paul would seek to explain to them.
Friday evening is the start of the Jewish New Year. This is traditionally ushered in by the blowing of the shofar. When you greet your Jewish friends, wish them a "Shana tov" as a Happy New Year!
Caesarea - the launching pad of the Gospel. This site was strategic for both Peter and Paul as they spent time in this port city. This nature-defying harbor became the place where the Gospel of Jesus went forth to the "uttermost parts of the world."
What a beautiful site at Yardenit from our group currently in Israel being led by Dr. Charlie Dyer!
The Jordan River is very beautiful at Yardenit, the baptismal site. We actually baptized about 25 individuals today, including a Brazilian who just showed up at the end of our line to be baptized!

We love when our groups are able to travel through the Rabbinical tunnel!
We walked through the Rabbinical tunnels along the Western Wall. At the northern end there is an underground aqueduct that brought water to the temple. It's amazing to realize this is under the Muslim Quarter of the Old City.
Our team is growing! If you or someone you know is looking to be a part of a great team culture and meaningful work, take a look at the descriptions below.

Always a moving time at the Western Wall!
After visiting the Dome of the Rock we went down to the Western Wall. It was hard to get an interesting picture with my iPhone because I didn't want to get too close to those praying. (I wouldn't want someone sticking their smartphone in my face as I was praying!) These are the times when I do miss carrying my regular camera and telephoto lens!
