The Cranmer Institute & St. Alban's Chapel

The Cranmer Institute is a Center for Anglican Studies, which houses St. Alban's Chapel, a place of worship for Episcopalians adjacent to SMU's campus.

The Cranmer Institute (TCI) is a Center for Anglican Studies located in Dallas, Texas. It is named for Thomas Cranmer, the Archbishop of Canterbury responsible for the Book of Common Prayer and a rejuvenation of catholic worship, life, and mission in the British Isles. TCI likewise seeks the rejuvenation of Anglicanism within the United States and throughout the Anglican Communion. It does this by offering three core programs of education and renewal for laity and clergy aimed: a) at preachers in mid-career; b) at younger clergy and lay leaders recently graduated and starting their ministry; and c) at seminarians who wish to study in Dallas and take advantage of rich theological resources in the area, augmented with courses in classical Anglican studies. TCI is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization operating in Dallas, TX at 3308 Daniel Avenue, adjacent to the Southern Methodist University campus. The executive director of TCI is the Reverend Canon Dr. Christopher Seitz and the chairman of the board is the Right Reverend James M. Stanton.

Mission: Christian faith and doctrine take form in the worship life of the Church.
