Let’s celebrate 2021 Calvary Graduate, Isabel Zajac!

GET TO KNOW ISABEL:
Favorite Calvary Memory: My favorite memory is from 6th grade on the Tomball track trip. The car ride was really fun. I got to laugh with my friends and make jokes with them. When we finally got there, my events included little running. Instead, I did all the events that didn’t require running, and was with my best friend, Macy, all day. It was a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun. We cheered our classmates on and made many memories. We ate Chick-fil-A for lunch and talked about the events. We ended the day with congratulations and celebrated with popsicles. As we were driving back to Calvary, we laughed and laughed. It was one of the best car rides I’ve ever been on.
Valuable Lesson: I’ve learned to enjoy all the moments I have with my class and friends. Each day is special and has its own charm. I’ve learned to stay on top of my schoolwork and pay attention in class. My grades and attitude at school have benefited from doing these simple things.
Favorite Bible Verse: Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.”
Advice for Incoming Eighth Graders: Enjoy your last moments!!! Be a good role model for the 7th graders and all the other young students at Calvary. Continue to work hard and help each other. Make fun memories, you’ll remember them forever.
Future High School: Lebanon Trail High School in Frisco

Let’s celebrate 2021 Calvary Graduate, Anjy Fadairo!

GET TO KNOW ANJY:
Favorite Calvary Memory: I’m only supposed to select one, but two fond memories I have of Calvary are Arbor Day and the fifth-grade bake sale. On Arbor Day, my schoolmates and I had the opportunity to serve God by beautifying the school and cleaning up. It was such a fun time for me not only because I had an entire afternoon to do manual labor with my pals, but on Arbor Day I had the opportunity to try many things for the first time (putting mulch into place, moving stones, etc.). The fifth-grade bake sale was one of the most fun things I have ever done at Calvary. My classmates and I had the opportunity to help plan it out, and we got to bake and raise money for victims of Hurricane Harvey as well. On the day of the bake sale, my classmates and I distributed baked goods to adults and to other classrooms. It was a great experience that I'll never forget.

Valuable Lesson: It’s so important to enjoy the present. Constantly looking at the future can be tempting, but once the present is gone, it’s gone forever. Learning to enjoy God's gift of "right now" is something that I will carry with me from Calvary into the world. Also, I’ve learned to calm down and let God take control of things! Since I was a little child, I have been taught by teachers and Bible stories that God knows what he's doing. It’s so easy for me to stress when things don’t seem to be going well, but as Jesus said in Luke 12:25, “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?” Even though it’s often hard for me to stop worrying about things, through the Holy Spirit, I have learned to find perpetual comfort in the knowledge that God is in control of everything.

Favorite Bible Verse: “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39 37

Advice for Incoming Eighth Graders: Before I give advice, whoop whoop! Welcome to the final stretch of Calvary! You’ve come a long way, and I pray that God will continue to guide you in your faith and in your studies. Balance your life, learn more about yourself and what you like to do, and enjoy this time! Since the difficulty of your coursework will increase this year, a critical part of eighth grade is establishing good study habits and managing your time properly. On the other hand, you have to ensure that you have time for your mental health and for having fun. Find a routine that helps you do both and stick to it. This upcoming school year, remember that everyone is different. God hasn't gifted everyone in the exact same way, and not everyone enjoys the same things. With this in mind, make sure that you do NOT freak out if a friend finishes work before you or picks up on concepts quicker than you do. Instead, concentrate much of your time and energy on ensuring that you understand what your teachers are teaching. You should focus on your interests, passions, and gifts as well. Finally, enjoy this year! It feels like just this morning I was having my last day of seventh grade virtually, and now, I’m graduating. I know that your usual eighth-grade festivities may be put on hold because of COVID, but do everything in your power to make the most out of the little time you have left at Calvary.

Future High School: I will be attending The Hockaday School. Go Daisies!

Congratulations and God’s blessings, Anjy!
