podbean.com The Kingdom of God is at hand, we may not always recognize it....honoring/obeying the commandments helps us to see the kingdom more clearly and places us in union with God and one another. May we seek to understand the commandments and be guided by Christ in our responding to them.
[02/16/20] O God, the strength of all who put their trust in you: Mercifully accept our prayers; and because in our weakness we can do nothing good without you, give us the help of your grace, that in keeping your commandments we may please you both in will and deed; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

We are Salty, You are Salty, Salt of the Earth... Sermon by Fr Paul Klitzke, 02/09/2020. #ascensiondallas #ascensionlife #salt
The sermon from today has been posted to the podcast, you can hear it here.
podbean.com The Gospel for today is a portion of Matthew where Jesus declares people to be the salt and light of the world. This is combined with clarification that the law is not abolished, but made complete in Christ.
[02/09/20] Set us free, O God, from the bondage of our sins, and give us the liberty of that abundant life which you have made known to us in your Son our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
A little more tree work at Ascension today. The tree pictured is the last tree scheduled to be removed from what used to be a very beautiful grove near the Community Garden of Hope. The Grove was decimated in the June 9th strait-line wind storm
The smaller stob of a tree, in the middle of the picture, was cut down to make room for new trees.
There are two beautiful pieces of the trunk left by the dumpster, in case any artisans are interested.
Thank you Winifred for your help, & for trimming Gulf Muhly grasses in front of the church.
Also, the courtyard transformation took an infant step today. This process will take a year or so to complete.

Almighty God, you have given your only-begotten Son to take our nature upon him, and to be born [this day] of a pure virgin: Grant that we, who have been born again and made your children by adoption and grace, may daily be renewed by your Holy Spirit; through our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom with you and the same Spirit be honor and glory, now and for ever. Amen.
Merry Christmas to our wonderful Ascension family, near and far. Here are just a few pictures to share— please share your pictures with us as well!
