[11/29/17]   Isaiah 1:10-13 NIV
Hear the word of the Lord,
you rulers of Sodom;
listen to the instruction of our God,
you people of Gomorrah!
“The multitude of your sacrifices—
what are they to me?” says the Lord.
“I have more than enough of burnt offerings,
of rams and the fat of fattened animals;
I have no pleasure
in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats.
When you come to appear before me,
who has asked this of you,
this trampling of my courts?
Stop bringing meaningless offerings!
Your incense is detestable to me.

When we say God is with us, He is fighting for us, when we quote His word, and call on His name, while continuing to live any way we want; continuing in our sins with no desire to change, God does NOT hear your prayer, He does NOT heed to your call. What you are experiencing is His MERCY, you are NOT experiencing his GRACE! There is a distinct difference. He hears the cry, the prayers of a heart that REPENTS. Stop bringing God empty sacrifices that mean nothing to Him. Give Him what He is asking you for: YOUR HEART, NOT YOUR LIP SERVICE!!!

** I would like to share a small essay that I submitted in my Philosophy class last month, I pray that you read this and understand that it does not only apply to the Halloween celebratory season that the world endulges in, but also the daily struggles that our youth faces at the hands of the enemy. We must ban together and pray for our youth, and know that unless they continue to be interceeded for and spoken the word of God over, they are at risk, and it is up to us to lead them.

Ashtoreth: goddess of seduction

Before philosophy many believed that pagan worship produced desired results and anticipated requests of the worshipper, and today,
although in secret, these mythical practices continue. Whether the desire was to produce heirs to succeed a throne, or to assure victory of a
pending war, individuals believed that idol worship rather than the worship of the true living God was far more advantageous, even if it meant
violation of the sacred Torah given to the people. Ashtoreth is one of many of these pagan gods of the early 16th century B.C. She is known as
the goddess of fertility, love and war. Another name that is more familiar to readers is her Greek goddess name of Aphrodite-Venus
(Pagan Worship, and Idol Names of Old). Worship of this deity involved various revolting acts such as child molestation, public ritualistic saturnalia [orgies],
and temple prostitution. The participants of this pagan worship performed such actions with the belief that by doing so, they would be rewarded with victory
in war, fertility amidst bareness and or the love they sought from another. Worship of Ashtoreth often included and or was in addition to
worship of the god Baal; which usually included sacrifice of the children who were molested as completion to the ritualistic behavior (False
Worship Revealed).

Today just as the afore mentioned individuals participated in such behavior to achieve their desired results, people continue to indulge in
mythological behavior with the beliefs that they will produce outcomes longed for by the participant. Although today Ashtoreth and Baal
worship practices are performed with much more discretion, they are nevertheless continued in our society unbeknownst to many. According
to the U.S. Department of State, as to date statistically there are approximately 800,000 child abductions that occur in the world every year.
Ten percent of those abductions occur during the Halloween celebration. This is a continuance of the antediluvian Baal and Ashtoreth worship
from demonic principality belief that through this type of ritualistic behavior the security of governmental peace, love and fertility can be
rewarded (Secrets of the occult unlocked). This long time mythical belief and behavior is one that will be our biggest battle to overcome, and
as a result Ashtoreth continues to seduce and distort human emotion with promises of victory, peace, love and fertility.

The reason I shared this brief philosophical essay is because we as men and women of the true and living God need to understand that the enemy is not only after us as believers, but he is also after our children. We must stop looking and thinking that that is someone elses child, and pray for our youth like it is our own. This child could be your neighbors', your best friend's or yes even yours. If the enemy cannot get to you, he will attack the closest thing to you, and that is our children. The old saying said, "It takes a nation to raise a child", but in the society we live in today, no one is caring for the neighbors child, and if the saints of God don't care than who will. The enemy is using all kinds of tactics to deceive our youth; through music, television, and yes even through the church, but we as the strong must bear the infirmities of the weak and interceede for our youth like never before. We cannot afford to allow the enemy free reign over our futures in our children. Let the people of God come together and pray like never before for our children, for their lives are seriously at stake, and thier anointings are too precious to go wasted.

[10/31/17]   While in the fifth watch of prayer the Lord showed me Goshen: lit in the midst of darkness, and I could literally feel the dred of Egypt all around, but the children of God were safe in the land. I want to share, urge, and encourage you today to get in the Safety of God. He IS our refuge in the time of storm that is ahead. BE SURE YOUR ANCHOR HOLDS AND GRIPS THE SOLID ROCK!!! BE SURE! YOU CANNOT BE LUKEWARM, YOU CANNOT STRADDLE THE FENCE! Our salvation is so much nearer than when we first believed. Come to Christ NOW!!! Come back to Christ NOW!!! Stay in the safety of Goshen, because Egypt is going to suffer, but God's people will have NO LACK!

Scripture: Matthew 24:43 “But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

I preached a sermon a number of years ago entitled “Recognizing the Enemy”. This message focused on informing and instructing the believer on the necessary ability of recognizing the attacks and disguises of the enemy, and rebuking him. In this message, I would like to discuss another important battle plan against the adversary, so that we as believers can now be even more mindful in recognizing his [the enemy’s] attacks, and anticipating his plans so that we can cut him off BEFORE he can get his filthy hands on our families, our finances, or any other thing that belongs to us.

In these last days, we are at war, but we can take comfort in the Word of the Lord spoken in 2 Chronicles 20:15 which tells us, "This is what the LORD says to you: 'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's.”In the Word of God found in our key scripture, we come to the understanding that there is a certain space of time in which the enemy can and will be actively seeking a way into your life with the purpose of destroying it. If he cannot get you directly, he will try to attack you through your spouse, your children, or your friends, and any area in which he can gain ground in is fair gain if we are not on guard. Now to better understand this, we need to have a little history so stay with me.

During the Grecian empire (which was the span of the Archaic period of 8th Century AD until the Antiquity period of 5th Century AD, before the children of Israel were led away captive in 600AD), the hours during the night were separated into time periods spanning between sunset and sunrise. These were separated into three watches found in the Word of God. The first watch was from sunset to 10pm (Lamentations 2:19), the second or “middle” watch was form 10pm until 2am (Judges 7:19), and the final, which was the third “morning” watch, was from 2am to sunrise (Exodus 14:24, 1 Samuel 11:11). After the Roman supremacy, the Israelites adapted the numerical order of the Romans which encompassed four separate watches instead of three; we can find the adherence of these watches in Matthew 14:25. These watches were now separated into distinct allocations of time ending at 9pm, midnight, 3am, and 6am (Bible History, Smith Bible Dictionary). Now stay with me because this is about to get DEEP!!!

For the sake of time and length of this sermonette, I will cut to the chase and tell you that after idolatry and divination came into tolerance, a pattern of practice became more and more evident. Lets look at one example of this in the word of God in 1 Samuel 28:8 “And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring him up, whom I shall name unto thee.” Now, King Saul goes to see a woman who is a practicing witch, but take note of the time specified when he went: “by NIGHT”. There is a term called “The Witching Hour” where it is known that evil spirits are at the height of activity. It is when most crime happens. In a May 2013 article by the August Chronicle entitled “Most downtown crime occurs after midnight”, they reported for that particular city, that a stifling 15% of violent crimes were committed between the hours of 12midnight and 3am. CNN reported in a December 2015 news article that 90% of satanic ritualistic practice is performed between the hours of midnight and 3am. So what do we get from this? There is a space of time that the enemy is roaming, seeking whom he may devour, and it is during a time when we are not watching. We need to be on guard!

Now, knowing this, let’s get back to our key scripture Matthew 24:43. Can we now see a watch in need of guardianship? Let’s tie this all together. The first watch begins in the evening at 6pm and lasts until 9pm, the second, from 9pm to 12midnight, the third, from midnight to 3am, and so on. I just want to look at these three for now. Let me ask you a question. When you were in the world, and going out for the evening, to the club, to the bar, or whatever, what did your timeline look like? I’ll give you an example of mine: planning took place in the evening about 6pm, and that night I used to get ready and head out the door by 11pm. I would be out until the clubs or the bar closed at 3am and on my way home. Can you see the pattern? The enemy has the same schedule: he’s planning in the first watch (6p-9p), dispatching in the second (9p-12midnight), and destroying in the third (midnight to 3am).

Now lets put the bow on this: the best time to kill a plot is in the planning stage! That is strategic war! If you are going to defeat the enemy, you must defeat him BEFORE he executes his plans against you. Remember, the goodman must know in what watch the thief is coming, and be on watch, on duty! Our time for waging war and defeating the enemy is clear: we must get on the first watch.

Matthew 14:23 “and when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.” Jesus took advantage during the first watch of the evening after his work for the day had concluded to realign himself with the Father through prayer. This first watch of the night is one of great importance. It serves to shake off the anxieties of the day, and separate ourselves in worship of the Lord so that we can be strengthened for the night. Ending our day by proclaiming God’s greatness in our lives gives us the refocus necessary to see through the spirit what the enemy is planning, so that in the second watch of the night, we can decree and declare the judgment of God against the enemy’s devices. “And it came to pass, that at midnight the Lord smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon… Exodus 12:29. It is during the second watch of the night when you have the authority to bind up the hand of the enemy, uproot every plot, and command the enemy to lose everything he has held captive, because at midnight God is going to send victory your way. It was at midnight that the death angle caused Egypt to lose the people of God from bondage; it was at midnight that the angel of the Lord smote the chains of Paul and Silas for them to go free; it was at midnight when Samson got up and pulled up the posts of the doors he was bound to and ran free. Midnight is where the enemy is defeated, because the people of God are on guard. The Lord said, “if my people would humble themselves and pray…” the reason the Lord would tell us to pray is because he knew there would be a period of time we would need to, and not.

I am long out of time, but I dare to challenge you Man of God, Woman of God, to get on your post! Take a position on your watch to stand guard in the body of Christ and pray. Recognize that prayer is preventative, NOT emergent. We don’t need to fight the enemy when he is on the move, when we can stop him BEFORE he gets going. What do you mean Pastor, well, if you take the time to pray BEFORE the enemy begins to destroy, your prayer will uproot the very plan and destroy the very weapons the enemy is plotting to use against you. Strategic prayer is effective prayer. Take your stand against the enemy; get on post, be on watch, get the victory in Jesus’ name.

Until next time, be blessed and fulfilled in the Lord.

Scripture: Genesis 11:4 “And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.”

Let’s get straight to the point in this study. Our scriptural text picks up with Nimrod (son of Cush, grandson of Ham, and great grandson of Noah), having the idea of building “a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name (for ourselves).” What is wrong with this idea? I’m sure you already know, but just for the sake of clarity, lets delve momentarily into some geographical and historical content for a second.

After the flood, the Ark settled on Mt Ararat (Turkey). The Mountain itself had an elevation of greater than sixteen thousand feet, and was encompassed by two vast bodies of water: the Black Sea, and the Mediterranean. When the floodwaters rescinded, Noah and his family would have had to travel East, since to the West of them was nothing but water. Noah had the commandment from God to “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the EARTH.” Now to do this, they could not stay in one place. But here in our scriptural text we come in to find the spirit of rebellion, and disobedience has stepped in. This was the sole reason for the destruction of man in the first place!

Nimrod, who as afore mentioned was the great grandson of Noah, has contracted a spirit of arrogance, AND WATCH THIS: Idolatry!!! What Nimrod was building was a Ziggurat, with the purpose of making a name for himself. Now this goes a lot deeper than this but I will try to keep this superficial for the sake of the lesson at hand. Ziggurats were towers that upheld a temple at the top for worship of a deity; the higher the tower, the bigger the deity. Are you seeing this? Nimrod, who had a defiant, and rebellious (and not to mention: a self righteous spirit) wanted to build a tower that reached to heaven, to have a name for himself. SOUND FAMILIAR??? Lucifer did the same thing!!! So what happens when we try to do things like God but exclude Him from the plan? The plan will FAIL!

OK, so I’m running out of page, which means my time is almost up so let me cut to the chase. IF GOD IS NOT THE CENTER OF YOUR PLAN, IT WILL FAIL!! Point blank!! Today God is being taken out of everything from schools, to homes, to even church! Let me help somebody this morning: THERE IS NO SIDE-STEPPING GOD’S WORD! We cannot take what we want and discard the rest of it. Too many of us are doing whatever we want to do, and claiming that the Lord is blessing us, NO! Although the Lord CAN choose to bless us INSPITE of our mess, please understand that His provisions come with conditions!!!! Psalms 37:4, Psalm 91:1, James 4:7, Gen. 26:3-5, I can go literally on and on. You wondering why things aren’t going according to your plan, maybe you should check to blueprint, because “except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it (Ps. 127:1).” There is no way AROUND the Word of God. Until next time, be blessed, and live in His Will.
