April 26th, 2020 - Sunday Morning Service

Join us online, Sunday at 10:00 AM, as we continue our new sermon series, Recalculating! This week, we're recalculating away from anxiety and toward understanding where God is leading in the midst of change.

You can join us online at www.killianbaptist.org/watch or www.facebook.com/killianbaptistchurch. Let others know you're attending online by going to our Facebook Event and inviting your friends (https://www.facebook.com/events/254268492378352/).

What happens when the interstate of life becomes blocked and all the freedoms, information, preferences, and personal benefits stop— they are no longer reachable and no longer at our fingertips? What happens when our lives stop working like they were before?

What happens is we begin recalculating, re-examining, and re-evaluating our lives. When what we were so secure in before changes, fails or stops; doubt, insecurity, fear, and anxiety rush on to the interstate of our lives and attempt to redirect us to a parking lot of neutrality. They move us into a position of doubting the future and idolizing the past. They direct us to a dirt lot of remembering what was and wishing we could go back.

We'd like to encourage you to join us, over the next few weeks, on the journey of seeking and finding security in an insecure world. Obtaining hope when all seems hopeless. Experiencing joy in the midst of struggle. I want to encourage you to recalculate your life’s journey when everything changes away from the temporal securities of this world and to the eternal security that you can find in a deep and meaningful relationship with God.

As a result of the COVID-19 virus, we've made great strides to ensure that you can still contribute to the work of the ministry taking place at Killian Baptist Church. ReLaunching In-Person Sunday Morning Worship
After weeks of prayer, reading, watching, and waiting we're ready to relaunch our in-person Sunday morning worship! We're pleased to share with you that on Mother’s Day, May 10th, we’ll be relaunching our Sunday Morning in-person time of worship! Yes, you heard us right, in-person worship only, no small groups or children’s activities, on Sunday May the 10th at 11 AM! While we will have significant precautionary measures in place to help us maintain adequate physical distancing during these initial meetings, we are eager to be able to once again gather together in-person for worship. This coming Monday, May 4th, we’ll be releasing specific guidelines about how we’re planning on relaunching our Sunday morning services in three distinct phases to insure that health and safety are maintained as we once again gather together. Throughout each of the three phases we’ll maintain our online worship option for those who need more time before gathering in person for worship. Looking forward to sharing more information with you in the next few days and praying for you all! I AM: Getting to know God
I AM: GETTING TO KNOW GOD DAVID NASSER Note: The real-life stories in this series contain mature themes.* How can I have a relationship with a God who is invisible? How can God love me when I've done so much wrong? How do I know God is speaking to me? How can a God of love allow bad things to happen? Teens are struggling with very difficult questions and doubts. In these four youth Bible study sessions, David Nasser will offer hope and encouragement to students from Scripture on their winding journey of faith. The Fault in Our Bars
Watch what happens when four students suddenly find themselves lost in the woods—with no cell phone service! This funny illustration shows how our technology has impacted how we communicate with one another. And it's only getting worse!

Drive-Thru Breakfast Pickup - Saturday May 2nd
This Saturday, we’re going to be giving away five-hundred bags of cereal. Beginning at 9 AM, Killian and Rockton Baptist Church, are hosting a drive-thru breakfast give-away where we’re giving away five-hundred bags of cereal to those who stop by between 9 AM and 10 AM Saturday morning. The only thing you have to do is drive up. While wearing all the necessary personal protection gear, we’ll drop three jumbo bags of cereal and some oatmeal in your trunk or backseat, and you're ready to go. It's that simple. We understand that these are difficult times, therefore it is our pleasure to help serve you in some small way. Praying for you all and look forward to seeing you on Saturday at 9 AM. My Facebook Life
You Are Enough Look familiar? How often do we post things online to present a better version of ourselves? Paul asked the Galatians, “Am I now trying to win the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please men?” (Gal. 1:10). Even the first Christians cared about their reputations. But when the God of the universe created you and sent His Son to die for you, what else really matters?

Psalm 23
Many people are familiar with Psalm 23. But because we all know it, we often breeze through the psalm without slowing down long enough to rest in the assurance it offers. In this 6-part series on Psalm 23, pastor Matt Chandler introduces us to the great shepherd, the Lord, who promises to provide for every need of his flock. Though only six verses long, this psalm teaches us profound truths about our loving and protective God. By studying Psalm 23, we’ll encounter a life-transforming question: Do you trust the Lord to care for your needs? Found here at Right Now Media https://bit.ly/2UByYCF

Live A Better Story
There is never a convenient time to "serve". Yet, even during these times we can find opportunities if we are listening to God. Evan, Jim and Jason were inspired by author, Donald Miller to make their lives count. Instead of looking across the globe, they committed to serving in their own community.

We'd Love to Connect with You!
At Killian Baptist Church, we understand the value of community. We also know that in this time of social distancing and isolation, finding a safe community to connect with can be hard. Therefore, we'd love to have to opportunity to encourage and uplift you in your journey during these difficult times. We desire to create a place where every person can feel that sense of belonging. A Million Little Choices
The right choices—the ones that will matter years later—aren’t always easy to see. We can spend our time worrying about how our decisions today affect tomorrow. But Jesus tells us to focus only on today. “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself” (Matt. 6:33–34). Where is God in your little choices? Today, honor Him in your small decisions and big. The future will take care of itself.

HOPE
Hope - confident expectation that God will act. This six-session series created at Grace Community Church in Arlington, TX explores the biblical view of hope as a confident expectation that God will come through for us both in this life and the next.

Where Is God?
Where Is God? It is easy to see God's hand in the splendor of a sunset or the glory of a mountaintop. But we wonder where God is when we are in our most difficult times. This uplifting video clip illustrates how God is with us when and where we need Him most.
