Heaven is looking, down on me. Amen and Amen!
To my Wesley family members: I'm Sitting around reading the paper and have a desire to share the importance of voting in the runoff on Tuesday if you didn't vote two weeks ago. This runoff is important as voters have the opportunity to defeat those who have aligned themselves with current administration policies; policies that have led to the situation our country is currently involved. Policies which have and will continue to negatively impact our community if we don't use our voting rights. So I urge members who may not have voted two weeks ago to vote in the runoff and send a message that such policies are intolerable. Richard Gadsden

Vision: A world that knows and lives the love and hope of Jesus Christ. Mission: To make and nurture disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world

Mission: To make and nurture disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

[07/10/20]   I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality... I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

[07/10/20]   Violence as a way of achieving racial justice is both impractical and immoral. I am not unmindful of the fact that violence often brings about momentary results. Nations have frequently won their independence in battle. But in spite of temporary victories, violence never brings permanent peace.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

[07/09/20]   What old time remedy do you know?

Still at work in the community

Wesley's Food Pantry donated 100 bags of grocery they had packed up for our food pantry distribution to Washington Street UMC. Since we were not distributing food right now because of the pandemic, and Washington Street UMC was distrusting food, to the hungry, we decided to donate it to them.

Wesley also donated can goods and dry beans to Harvest Hope on Shop Road several times because we didn't want the food to go pass the expiration date.

[06/29/20]   On Saturday June 27, 2020, the United Methodist Men's Ministry of Wesley invited persons to participate in a conversation about race and social justice via Zoom. In light of the recent tragedies that have occurred across America, they wanted to give people an opportunity to ask questions, express their thoughts and concerns, and let their voices be heard. Members and guests of all ages were encouraged to participate. Among the panelists were Attorney Jerry Finney, Perry Bradley—Building Better Communities (BBC), Brigadier General Kenyon Bell—US Airforce, V'Aira Harris—Richland County Sheriff Dept. and moderator—Brandon Taylor.

Reverend Al Sharpton

Houses of Worship should make the health of their people their priority, not the politics of the President. We should be preaching abundant Life, not flirting w/ death!

In the mist of Covid 19, since we are still distancing ourselves, Rev. Tiffany, her husband, their son and a few of our choir members serenaded one of our elderly church members, (Mrs. Gladys Taylor).
