One Challenge (OC Intl) is passionate about the body of Christ working together to disciple whole nations and to bring God's transforming hope to all people.
Founded by Dick Hillis in 1952, One Challenge continues to experience the Lord's favor in unprecedented ways. With the growth and expansion of the OC Global Alliance, by the end of the year 2011, OC had grown to the largest size in its 60-year history, with approximately 750 ministry personnel. In 2011, OC served over a quarter of a million church leaders in 88 countries, with an additional 12 million leaders served through OC websites and media ministries. As a result, these leaders were equipped and trained to lead their churches and ministries to more effectively reach their communities, countries, and even continents for Christ.

Dwelling on John 13:34-35 today. How can we love like Jesus? How do people know we are His disciples? May we love others as Jesus loves us. #lovelikejesus

Serving communities takes a team effort. You are vital to making it happen. Let's do this!
Working alongside local leaders is really at the heart of a lot of what we do at One Challenge. Here's one way a team in Asia does that through sports: https://www.onechallenge.org/2020/08/27/coming-alongside-local-leaders/
onechallenge.org A common phrase in One Challenge is “coming alongside.” It’s at the center of the majority of OC work. Partnering with leaders and churches is important for sustainable, relevant ministry. OC workers Jeff and Robin had the opportunity to partner with a local church and local leaders and friend...
We have new stories on our OneChallenge.org website! Check out this story from South Africa about serving communities during the COVID-19 pandemic: https://www.onechallenge.org/2020/08/27/unexpected-ministry-in-the-pandemic/
onechallenge.org The global COVID-19 pandemic has impacted all our lives. Through the global crisis, the Lord has opened unexpected ministry opportunities for OC workers in South Africa. By the Lord’s provision, the South Africa government declared OC Africa an essential service. This became critical because it me...
Research. Motivate. Train. Mobilize. Research is foundational to the majority of OC ministry. It’s linked to sustainability and effectiveness. Although all OC workers are trained in basic research skills, we also have an amazing Global Research Team. If you want to dive a little bit deeper, here’s their website: OCresearch.info. #research

Many students and teachers around the world are headed back to school but this year it’s different. Whether it’s virtual, in-person, or some sort of hybrid, we pray for healthy, safe, and encouraged students and staff everywhere.
Connection through tech has been critical in the pandemic. Find out how MANI adjusted and saw results when it needed to shift it's leadership meetings to online: https://www.onechallenge.org/2020/07/23/from-gloom-to-zoom-2020-mani-leadership-conference/
onechallenge.org Thanks to COVID-19, the idea of transitioning from traditional, face-to-face gatherings to online, virtual meetings has become commonplace. But the value and success of these digital substitutes has not always been the greatest, particularly in Africa, where internet connectivity is often unreliable...
"I call on the Lord in my distress, and he answers me," Psalm 120:1. Today we are praising the Lord for the miracle of providing food in Uganda and a nation in the Middle East. Check out the story: https://www.onechallenge.org/2020/07/23/lifeworkx-praises-the-lord-in-the-midst-of-struggle/
onechallenge.org Lifeworkx, as a ministry tool, generally addresses the third to fourth tier of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. As COVID-19 rushed into all of our lives in 2020, the team located in Colorado began to respond to the basic physical and safety needs it saw explode in the nations where national Lifeworkx ...

OC workers Doug and Barbara have spent this time, as they normally do, encouraging the pastors and leaders they work alongside. Doug has even started ministry collaboration whi...
One Challenge is thankful for the service of Ralph and Joyce Anderson as our pastoral couple. We are celebrating them and joining in the joy of what comes next: https://www.onechallenge.org/2020/07/15/25-years-of-encouragement-as-ocs-pastoral-couple/
onechallenge.org When Ralph and Joyce Anderson, 20 years into church ministry, experienced the power of encouragement personally in their own lives, it ignited an interest in their hearts to be the ones to bring encouragement to global mission workers. Since then, they have brought 25 years of encouragement to OC’...
As many look toward the new school year, one TCK reflects on what he learned through graduating in the midst of a global pandemic: https://www.onechallenge.org/2020/06/30/graduating-in-2020-a-reflective-journey/
onechallenge.org No one knew at the beginning of the 2020 school semester that it would be one for the history books. Students of all ages made plans for learning, plays, sports, proms, graduations, etc. Suddenly, all those plans changed. Of course, OC’s third culture kids (TCKs) around the world experienced those...
Despite a chaotic world, God is still working! Check out these stories of hope in the Europe region: https://www.onechallenge.org/2020/06/30/encouragement-in-europe-in-the-midst-of-the-pandemic/
onechallenge.org Over the last months, while staying at home, it may be hard to see God at work – but many around the world feel the Holy Spirit moving. Europe has been hit hard by the pandemic, but mission workers are reaching out to communities and are encouraged by stories of hope. Food Distribution at Ten42 [....

Creativity in training became critical during the last months. Check out how OC's training program looked different this year: https://www.onechallenge.org/2020/06/30/a-new-kind-of-training-core-2020/
onechallenge.org Throughout the spring and summer, it’s been a question mark of whether or not One Challenge’s training program for new mission workers, CORE, would happen. OC desires to continue ministry while respecting governmental guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the uncertainty of health restri...
[07/14/20] We have new stories up at onechallenge.org!
We love partnership! Check out how PEARL is helping its community during the pandemic: https://www.onechallenge.org/2020/05/27/pearl-food-for-the-hungry/
onechallenge.org In nations around the world, a major fear and reality during the pandemic is starvation. As restrictions increase, food becomes harder to come by. A large number of workers who rely on daily wages to simply feed their families have found themselves without jobs, meaning without food. During this tim...
A major concern during the Covid-19 pandemic in many countries around the world is starvation, due to the inability to work and limited access to food. Here's one way OC workers are helping support the effort to feed the hungry: https://www.onechallenge.org/2020/05/27/feeding-hundreds-amid-covid-19/
onechallenge.org In this time of global need, many have donated their time and money to help needy families all over the world. One Challenge workers Joel and Sue have seen this first hand as they work alongside churches in South Asia to see families fed. In South Asia, a danger of the COVID-19 pandemic is starvatio...

Encouraging words about the spread of the gospel among the nations: https://www.onechallenge.org/2020/05/27/never-before-research/
onechallenge.org We are living in a historical moment. In terms of international health, never has a pandemic had the physical, economic, and social impact of COVID-19. But, we are also seeing an unprecedented moment in the history of the church. “In missions today, there is a convergence of five major events that...
[06/09/20] New stories of ministry and encouragement at onechallenge.org.
Today a few OCers joined in a prayer gathering in COS organized by a local ministry leader. Etta says: “Glad to join a peaceful, prayerful gathering of pastors, brothers and sisters of all colors today. For me it was a time to listen. To confess. To weep. To pray for our city and our country.”
Listening. Lamenting. Repenting. Lifting up. #blackouttuesday
It’s not the celebration or year-end you anticipated, but you still graduated! Congratulations to all our 2020 OC grads!
God is working, we're thankful to be a small part: https://www.onechallenge.org/2020/04/29/miriams-story-divine-intervention/
onechallenge.org Miriam* is from a country where many of us will never go, where gospel proclaimers are not allowed, and where consequences for following Jesus are very strict. But God is there. A few years ago, Miriam found out she had cancer. She was so sick, and the doctors tried everything. They told her to go [...
In the last days of his life, Jesus prayed for his disciples who were about to face shattered dreams and plans, confusion, grief, pain, fear, and uncertainty (sound familiar?). He prayed for complete joy, for protection, for sanctification, and for unity - that as Jesus and the Father are one, we are made one with the Father through Jesus. "I’m in them and you are in me so that they will be made perfectly one. Then the world will know that you sent me and that you have loved them just as you loved me" John 17:23 (CEB).
Just a little encouragement for today: https://www.onechallenge.org/2020/04/29/can-we-see-god-working/
onechallenge.org We made this sign Dio Ama L’Italia (God loves Italy) and hung it on our balcony as an encouragement to people who might pass by our building. We’ve gotten mostly positive responses. One person, a friend of Mihai’s, responded with a “thumbs up” along with the criticism, “If God really lov...
To all the mothers: we hope you had a blessed day with ones you love, whether near or far.
We are all called to prayer. We'd love for you to pray with us. https://www.onechallenge.org/2020/04/29/a-call-to-prayer-be-a-spiritual-tent-peg/
onechallenge.org In the list of items and equipment God told the Israelites to make for the Tabernacle (Exodus 35-38), tent pegs are listed at the very end and seem quite inconsequential: “All the tent pegs of the tabernacle and of the surrounding courtyard were bronze” (Exodus 38:20). Most of the time, when thi...
