[12/03/17]   …when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.

Galatians 4:4 tells us that the reason for the season…is Jesus. God waited patiently until the time was right…and then He sent His Son. …Why? Because something wasn’t quite right until Jesus came.
During this Advent Season, we will be looking at God’s Perfect Gift to us. His Perfect Gift included Forgiveness… Eternal Life…a New Heart…and Peace on Earth. That’s what Jesus…this Perfect Gift…came to do. Jesus fulfills that new covenant…to make good on the Father’s promise….
Join us at Southwest this month as we unwrap this most wonderful and marvelous gift.

[11/05/17]   Guilt. Depression. Doubt. Anger. These are just some of the emotions that can trouble Christians and interfere in their relationship to God. What does the Bible say about living as emotional beings. How do we recognize when our emotions cannot be trusted. This is what we will discover together this month as we look deeper into Emotions that can Trouble Christians.

[10/08/17]   In recognition of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation movement on October 31st, this month we are looking at what the Reformers called the Five Solas. (Sola is the Latin word for “alone”.) They are…

--To the glory of God alone (10/1)
--Christ alone (10/8)
--God’s Word alone (10/15)
--Grace alone (10/22)
--Faith alone (10/29)

These five Solas are core principles and basic truths that will benefit us in proclaiming Christ to our communities.

[02/01/13]   There are in the New Testament two commands that form the heart of our response to God’s love. They cannot be separated. The whole of God’s will comes down to this. Jesus said…

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength…Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37, 39).

God’s laws can be reduced to two simple principles…love God and love others. When you love God completely and care for others as you care for yourself, then you have fulfilled the intent of the Ten Commandments…you have fulfilled the intent of God’s laws. According to Jesus, these two commandments summarize all of God’s laws. Let them rule your thoughts, decisions and actions. When you are uncertain what to do, ask yourself which course of action best demonstrates love for God and love for others.

[01/02/13]   Wishing everyone a happy and joyful New Year! God bless!

[08/13/12]   Just a reminder that the ladies have their bi-monthly meeting this Thursady at 9:30 at the church. Don't know where they plan to lunch this time but I know it will be someplace good!
