[09/03/18]   Our prayers may be awkward, our attempts feeble but since the POWER of prayer is in the One who hears and not the one who petitions WE CAN TAKE CONFIDENCE that no request is to big! Abundance is our birthright....

We are proud to announce that this year, on Thursday, September 20, 2018 we will be participating in Communities Foundation of Texas’ 10th annual North Texas Giving Day, a one day online giving extravaganza for our whole region, in hopes of broadening our reach within the community and continue to fight for families and meet their needs. Please consider donating to Community of Compassion and be part of this movement to share the love of God with our neighbors.

[08/09/18]   Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up cording to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen(Ephesians 4:29).

Some say marriage is one of the refining processes that God shapes a man and a woman into the people He wants then to be; therefore, we believe, marriage is not to be entered into lightly, but thoughtful, and prayerful🙏🏽👰🏽🤵🏿

[08/15/16]   The Talmud tells us that man is not intended to live alone, but as a member of society. Consequently our life is not our own, to do with as we please. What we do affects our neighbors and their conduct affects ours. Therefore let us be kind one to another.

Christ the Solid Rock

"Our hope is in the Lord, he is our help, our shield to protect us. We rejoice in him because we trust his holy name. Lord, show your love to us as we put our hope in you" (Psalm 33:20-22). I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus Name. On Christ the solid rock I st...

Take a moment to read this touching story!

A sweet lesson on patience.

A NYC Taxi driver wrote:

I arrived at the address and honked the horn. After waiting a few minutes I honked again. Since this was going to be my last ride of my shift I thought about just driving away, but instead I put the car in park and walked up to the door and knocked.. 'Just a minute', answered a frail, elderly voice. I could hear something being dragged across the floor.

After a long pause, the door opened. A small woman in her 90's stood before me. She was wearing a print dress and a pillbox hat with a veil pinned on it, like somebody out of a 1940's movie.

By her side was a small nylon suitcase. The apartment looked as if no one had lived in it for years. All the furniture was covered with sheets.

There were no clocks on the walls, no knickknacks or utensils on the counters. In the corner was a cardboard
box filled with photos and glassware.

'Would you carry my bag out to the car?' she said. I took the suitcase to the cab, then returned to assist the woman.

She took my arm and we walked slowly toward the curb.

She kept thanking me for my kindness. 'It's nothing', I told her.. 'I just try to treat my passengers the way I would want my mother to be treated.'

'Oh, you're such a good boy, she said. When we got in the cab, she gave me an address and then asked, 'Could you drive
through downtown?'

'It's not the shortest way,' I answered quickly..

'Oh, I don't mind,' she said. 'I'm in no hurry. I'm on my way to a hospice.

I looked in the rear-view mirror. Her eyes were glistening. 'I don't have any family left,' she continued in a soft voice..'The doctor says I don't have very long.' I quietly reached over and shut off the meter.

'What route would you like me to take?' I asked.

For the next two hours, we drove through the city. She showed me the building where she had once worked as an elevator operator.

We drove through the neighborhood where she and her husband had lived when they were newlyweds She had me pull up in front of a furniture warehouse that had once been a ballroom where she had gone dancing as a girl.

Sometimes she'd ask me to slow in front of a particular building or corner and would sit staring into the darkness, saying nothing.

As the first hint of sun was creasing the horizon, she suddenly said, 'I'm tired. Let's go now'.
We drove in silence to the address she had given me. It was a low building, like a small convalescent home, with a driveway that passed under a portico.

Two orderlies came out to the cab as soon as we pulled up. They were solicitous and intent, watching her every move.
They must have been expecting her.

I opened the trunk and took the small suitcase to the door. The woman was already seated in a wheelchair.

'How much do I owe you?' She asked, reaching into her purse.

'Nothing,' I said

'You have to make a living,' she answered.

'There are other passengers,' I responded.

Almost without thinking, I bent and gave her a hug.She held onto me tightly.

'You gave an old woman a little moment of joy,' she said. 'Thank you.'

I squeezed her hand, and then walked into the dim morning light.. Behind me, a door shut. It was the sound of the closing of a life..

I didn't pick up any more passengers that shift. I drove aimlessly lost in thought. For the rest of that day, I could hardly talk. What if that woman had gotten an angry driver,or one who was impatient to end his shift? What if I had refused to take the run, or had honked once, then driven away?

On a quick review, I don't think that I have done anything more important in my life.

We're conditioned to think that our lives revolve around great moments.

But great moments often catch us unaware-beautifully wrapped in what others may consider a small one.

Apostle John Eckhardt

PREACHERS of LA. Is God speaking to America prophetically through this show? I have refrained from commenting, and I do not wish to disparage the ministries on this show, but I believe that God is speaking to America prophetically. LA represents HOLLYWOOD and ENTERTAINMENT, and the church in America has become more like HOLLYWOOD. IMAGE and SUCCESS has become the goal of many preachers. Instead of moving in power and demonstration, the church is more concerned about IMAGE, ENTERTAINMENT, and SUCCESS. The church in America needs to return to the demonstration of the Holy Spirit and power, than just IMAGE, SUCCESS, and PROSPERITY. There are many powerful ministries in the LA area, and this is in no way intended to disparage every church in LA or AMERICA. AMERICA needs to wake up and return to the power of God and a STANDARD of RIGHTEOUSNESS.

How to overcome bitterness:

1. Admit that you are harboring bitterness.
2. Admit that you were wrong also.
3. Stop discussing your pain with those who can't resolve it.
4. Start meditating on God's Word.
5. Stop looking at where you have been & start looking towards where you are going.
6. Stop the revenge game.
7. Ask Holy Spirit to reveal hidden sin in your own heart.
8. Pray for those who hurt you (& really mean it).
9. Forgive those who hurt you & forgive yourself.

*Forgiveness is the one & only cure for emotional wounds.

The Power of Prayer
"Prayer may be the most powerful tool mankind has"-Ted Dekker
It has been said that we don’t pray to get our needs met, our needs move us to pray. We have all witnessed that whenever disaster strikes, and there is a significant need prayer suddenly becomes politically correct in all arenas. I believe this serves as a reminder to the world that God truly exist, and He is the ruler of the Universe.
Prayer is not an option, it is essential to fulfill the will and purpose of God in the lives of his people here in the earth “Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).
Prayer is one of the most exhilarating facets in the life of a believer. It has power to change circumstances, transform lives, bring peace in the middle of trials, tribulations, and confusion. Through prayer we have the power to win a lost and dying world for Jesus Christ. Prayer not only changes things, but prayer will change us.
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (II Chronicles 7:14).
We see prayer is not an option, it is necessary in the life of the believer and as we use this spiritual weapon we are able to touch the heart of God and He will heal our land.

Belief therapy reveals your spiritual center.

Belief therapy views life-controlling problems as having theological roots and that the Bible is the inerrant and all-sufficient source of restoring people from unhealthy ideas about themselves. The therapy addresses a condition known as Positional Identity Disorder (PID), or the idea that that people have developed damaging beliefs about themselves by the time they are six years old. Community of Compassion’s ministry is directed toward changing those unhealthy beliefs that cause people to struggle with conditions they cannot control.

In the context of Christian family counseling, this entails aiding people to understand themselves more fully, as well as how they fit into the context of other people's lives. This allows families to approach each other, and themselves, more compassionately than before. And all of this is guided by faith and a strong relationship with God.
