This month’s 3rd Thursday Dinner will be on August 17 at 6:30 pm at C&C Italian Bistro. The restaurant is located at 111 Main Street, Bay Saint Louis. This is a dutch-treat dinner and strictly social. It is our opportunity to meet one another and enjoy a delicious meal while supporting our community. ECW (Episcopal Church Women) is not a club. If you are a woman, and identify with or are an Episcopalian, you are invited. For those of you familiar with our dinners, please reach out to our newcomers and encourage them to join us. If you are new; please don’t be shy! We really want to meet you and welcome you. Please let Susan Stevens know by Wednesday the 16th if you plan to attend so that the appropriate reservation can be made. You may reach her at: [email protected] to confirm your attendance.
We enjoyed our delightful visit yesterday! I have such a love for little white chapels anyway, and this one stole my heart the first time I saw it 2 years ago. It is so rich with history and is a beautiful display of resilience and the power of God's people working together. "Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place!" Thank you, Wendy for taking the time to show us around and to share stories.

TS Sally Monday Update: Dear friends, after speaking with our wardens this morning, we have decided that Christ Church will enter into Hurricane Protocol until further notice. The office is closed and all worship, adult education, and any other function is suspended until Thursday morning at the earliest. We hope to be back on Thursday. Stay safe. Let us pray the words of the Navy Hymn:

"Eternal Father, strong to save, whose arm hath bound the restless wave, who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep its own appointed limits keep, O hear us when we cry to thee, for those in peril on the sea." (William Whiting, 1860) This graphic shows an approximate representation of coastal areas under a hurricane warning (red), hurricane watch (pink), tropical storm warning (blue) and tropical storm watch (yellow). The orange circle indicates the current position of the center of the tropical cyclone. The black line, when sel...

[09/07/20]   A Collect (Prayer)for Labor Day (BCP, p. 261)

Almighty God, you have so linked our lives one with another that all we do affects, for good or ill, all other lives: So guide us in the work we do, that we may do it not for self alone, but for the common good; and, as we seek a proper return for our own labor, make us mindful of the rightful aspirations of other workers, and around our concern for those who are out of work; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Join us tomorrow morning right here on our page at 10 am for Sunday Worship Livestream. The Rev. Scott Lenoir+ will be our guest preacher and celebrant. Scott+ is the editor of “The Mississippi Episcopalian.” The service leaflet can be found here:
