Church on Sunday will just be 11 am worship service. We lent a Sunday school teacher to another church for this morning, another is unable to teach due to a recent hospital visit, and our church is full due to up coming HUGE yard sale. So bring a lawn chair to 11 am 😉😁.

[06/22/21]   We have four people very much in need of prayer today.
Jenny- has a brain tumor, it was staying small with diet/ medical intervention, but the last two days something has happened and she is struggling with speech and motor skills.
Josh- has kidney cancer. His cancer was removed and everything looked good when a infection showed up out of nowhere. He is extremely sick today
Jesse- had his appendix rupture and now is septic, very very serious.
Mike- he had an aortic aneurysm burst. God was very good as he lived through a ten hour surgery, but we do not know if the burst caused stroke damage. He is in very serious condition as well.
If you could please lift these four precious people before the Lord, 🙏.

[06/03/21]   This Sunday we are going to take up a special offering for a brother in Christ. Not all single parents are women and not all single parents asked to be single parents. We want to take an opportunity to both care and actually help.

Borrowing from a friend
Philippians 4:1-8 KJVS
Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved. [2] I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord. [3] And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life. [4] Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. [5] Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. [6] Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. [7] And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. [8] Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

We will be holding off on Sunday School for the time being as it is particularly hard to distance in our small area 😁.
However we will be having an 11 am worship service outside.
Special bonus is our missionary to the Philippines, Christina Canapp will be speaking!!

[04/25/21]   Today we will not be having church in person or online. Our videographer is sick, and we do not have another person with the tech or knowledge to take over for him( small church problems)
Anyway we would ask that you pray for the following.
1) That those we know who have Covid would have mild cases and feel better soon. Including our missionaries families who are sick in other states and countries.
2) That a little one born 10 weeks early would grow healthy and stay safe.
3) That the several community members we are praying for with cancer would win the battle against that disease.
4) That the gospel would be as important to us as it is to those willing to give thier lives for it overseas. Always remember our brothers and sisters around the globe .

Borrowing this from Bobby Wilson. Isaiah 40:29-31 KJVS
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. [30] Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: [31] But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Sermon from this morning, 4-18-21, on the necessity of work

04/17/2021

Hello church family,

As many of you know the cases of Covid are skyrocketing here in Michigan, raising higher than they have been in the past. Our county in particular is getting hit as one of the highest counties in the nation.

As a result we are going to halt in-person worship for a few weeks. We still plan to upload the weekly sermon every Sunday and would ask you to watch at home and gather together around the Word as a family.

We didn’t make this decision lightly but with the cases so high in our county we know that it’s impossible to avoid coming in contact with those who have the virus and we want to protect those vulnerable members in our church family. We trust that you understand this decision and will continue to pray for those being hit with this virus.

We’ll keep posting updates on when we will resume in-person worship but just know that when that time comes in a few weeks it’ll likely look different as we’ll be meeting outside if possible and requiring masks and social distancing.

In Christ,
First Baptist Church Leadership
