HOPE Preschool is the premiere early education center in Ashburn, VA. Celebrating over 20 years!! HOPE Preschool opened its doors to the Ashburn community in 1992.
We have developed our program to be a model preschool for nearly 250 students each year. HOPE Preschool is THE place to start your child's educational journey!
Operating as usual
[12/09/20] Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of our HOPE families and kiddos! Even though we are not together this holiday season, please know that we are carrying all of you in our hearts.
Reminder ~ today is the last day to drop off bags on my porch. I will deliver bags tomorrow. Comment if you need my address. Thanks! ~Francie
Typically, HOPE Preschool collects Thanksgiving dinner bags for Loudoun Hunger Relief each year. We are closed this Fall, due to Covid, but we would like to try to make up for at least some of the bags we usually collect. If you would like to contribute; Francie will collect bags, on her front porch, between now and Nov. 14th. Please send her a message if you do not know her address. You can also drop bags off at the Loudoun Hunger Relief building at 750 Miller Dr. Suite A-1 in Leesburg. Thanks for your help!!
Happy Halloween!! Hoping all of our wonderful families have a fun weekend!
Each year the families of HOPE Preschool come together to help our community through donations to Loudoun Hunger Relief, Mobile Hope, Loudoun Literacy, Lunch Break Bundles, and others. This year our donations will be missing from those collections. If you feel inclined, please help us with the Loudoun Hunger Relief Thanksgiving Dinner bag collection this year. HOPE cannot be a collection point but you can take your bag to the Loudoun Hunger Relief location OR make your house the drop off location for bags in your neighborhood. Share this post with your friends! Thanks for helping HOPE to continue to make an impact in our community!
[09/08/20] This is the time of year when the preschool floors are waxed, pencils & crayons sharpened, and the staff at HOPE would be excited to open our doors to kick off the start of a new school year. Sadly, due to the pandemic and the current guidelines in place, we are not able to safely open. We continue to remain committed to opening as soon as safely possible. Until then, know that we miss our alumni students and families; and, we especially miss our students and families that should be with us this fall. We wish you and your families continued health and blessings with the start of this new school year. And, we can't wait until we are together again!
Wow! Thank you for all of the love you showed us yesterday and today!! We hope all of our HOPE families have a fun and healthy summer. We can't wait to be together again!
What an awesome morning!! HOPE Preschool had our first drive by pick up for our students' work and items left at the school back in March. It was so WONDERFUL to see their little smiling faces and their parents!! For those that didn't come by today, remember to come through carline tomorrow (9am - 11am) to pick up your things. We would love to get to say goodbye and have a great summer!
[05/22/20] Yesterday should have been our last day for the year at HOPE Preschool. Since we didn't get to say goodbye in person and have all of the hugs that we are usually blessed with; here is a "Have a Great Summer" video. The entire HOPE staff is also sending virtual hugs to all of you. Enjoy your summer and be sure to come back to visit us!
As you know, HOPE was not able to have our Book Fair this year. A good friend is the librarian at Calloway Elementary School in Roanoke, VA. Calloway is holding a virtual Book Fair!! Click on the link and order some new books for your kids! You can pay online and the books will be shipped to your home. It's always a great time to read!

raisingdragons.com Alphabet Hopscotch is a simple, outdoor, gross motor activity that is excellent for teaching kids the alphabet in a fun, unconventional way.
Another great list of activities for during these crazy times.
What a wonderful site! Last night, 28 of HOPE Preschool's 32 staff members were able to gather on Zoom. (Couldn't get everyone in one photo. :( ) We miss our HOPE Preschool students and families; we also really miss each other!
Cute idea for painting rocks. Make one set with upper case letters and one with lower case letters for a matching game. Use the rocks for letter recognition or learning to recognize and spell first and last names. For older kids, practice site words.

Here is a list of fun things to do with your kids during quarantine. #1 is to make a fort out of boxes. My kids loved making a fort out of blankets and pillows. Every summer there was a fort in my family room. Have fun!! :)
Another cute story! The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson; read by Mrs. Austin (Yellow Birds).

[05/04/20] Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to all of the wonderful educators out there ~ and especially to our awesome teachers at HOPE Preschool! You ladies are the best! Even though we aren't seeing our teachers in person this week, please remember to thank a teacher. They are working very hard for our kids!
Such a cool idea; had to post today. Preschoolers might need help with the "construction" but it surely will be fun to color and play with!

Cute book, including a song at the end that Ms. Caryl sings in her music class. Make a monster mask to wear while singing and dancing to the song!! (Jennifer Garner's page is full of books read aloud. Also ~ reminder that the Laurie Berkner Band has lots of songs and fun activities on YouTube.) Enjoy!

THIRTY MILLION CHILDREN rely on school for food. Responding to the needs of kids during these school closures, Save the Children US and No Kid Hungry have a new fund #SAVEWITHSTORIES to support food banks, and mobile meal trucks, and community feeding programs with funds to do what they do best—and also—with educational toys, books, and worksheets to make sure brains are full, as well as bellies.
If you can manage a one time gift of $10, please text SAVE to 20222. If another amount would work better for you, please visit our website—http://ow.ly/gxuV30qq1nf. There is no maximum and there is no minimum—together we will rise and together we can help.
Thank you and stay safe. XX

A fun sensory activity using plastic Easter Eggs...

A fun quarantine activity!
1 cup corn starch and 1/2 cup conditioner makes MOON DOUGH!
It’s like play dough and slime combined.
Not sticky and super fun to play with.
Tons of entertainment for $2 total!
Food coloring is optional. Try purple and blue.
Then combine them for a tie dye effect.
Thank you to one of our HOPE families for allowing me to share this idea with all of you. It’s so simple and rewarding within 2 days when you see sprouts. Got some eggshells? Lentils? A cotton pad? Then you can make little eggheads whose hair grows faster than yours during quarantine. (Place a wet cotton pad or cotton ball in empty egg shell. Place seeds or beans on cotton ~ lentils, lima beans, etc. Keep the cotton pad moist and the eggs in a place where they can get some sun.)
