NOTE THE TIME CHANGE THIS WEEK: live-stream Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Congratulations to Ryan S., Grade 4 State Winner in the Zaner-Bloser National Handwriting Contest! The contest, which has nearly 250,000 entries annually, rewards outstanding manuscript and cursive skills among students in grades K–8, and recognizes the teachers who understand the importance of handwriting for developing literacy in all students. STCS students completed their contest entries in class. Grade-level winners were selected by Mrs. O’Malley and Fr. Guest, and submitted to Zaner-Bloser. Ryan will receive a medal, and his teacher, Mrs. Crawford, will also be recognized. Great job!

Amazing things happen on STCS's Social-Emotional Learning Fridays...including our 7th grade's first-ever Virtual Talent Show! They pre-recorded their talents, and watched the show together virtually. Wonderful job!

"Specials Bingo" is a huge hit! So many fun links to explore on the K-2 card, including creating virtual "high fives," color wheels, and painting!

During Holy Week, 7th & 8th Grade students in Mrs. Green's Google Earth elective plotted out the Stations of the Cross -- an amazing view! They also added a few photos from the parish trip to Jerusalem last fall, including Fr. Guest celebrating Mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Check it out here: https://tinyurl.com/y9wa6ncy - it will load in a Chrome browser or if your mobile device has Google Earth.

Our wonderful "Specials" teachers have created a really fun way for our students to explore and learn about technology, music, books, art, and physical education: "Specials Bingo"! Here our students are working on coding, photography perspective, chalk art, stories online, drawing, and stamping.

Check out these awesome projects from our First Grade! They celebrated Earth Day last week by creating new treasures from recyclable materials, and then sharing them 'virtually' with classmates. Pictured: snowman Christmas lights, ferry boat, caterpillar, race car, sea turtles, boom box, castle, robot, and a mask!

We're excited to roll out the STCS Parent-Owned Business Directory! You'll find a bit of everything -- Health & Wellness, Home & Auto, Restaurants, and Services. Check it out here: https://bit.ly/3bybZOY

Ice cream is always a day-brightener! We're proud of our STCS Band: they donated the ice cream from their annual band trip fundraiser to Reston Hospital Center as a "thank you" treat for staff. Thank you @RestonHospital - and all those working on the front lines of the pandemic -- we are beyond grateful, and you are in our prayers!

Our transition to distance learning on March 16 was accomplished so effectively with a true team effort! Shout out to Mrs. McGeever and Mrs. Stallings (STCS Nurses) and Mrs. Quimby (STCS Extended Day) for their wonderful assistance, including gathering our medical supplies to donate to Ashburn Volunteer Fire Station 22! We appreciate all you do!
