Beth Chaverim Reform Congregation is a vibrant, community-centered Reform Jewish congregation in Ashburn, Virginia. Beth Chaverim means “House of Friends” in Hebrew.
And that is what you will find at Beth Chaverim Reform Congregation. We are a welcoming community, connecting with one another and centuries of Jewish tradition. We are filled with energy, warmth and spiritual meaning. We celebrate our diversity – we are young families, seniors, singles, teens, empty nesters, interfaith families, same s*x couples, Jews by birth and Jews by choice. We are more than a congregation – we’re a family, a community and friends. Note: If your picture is on our page and you wish to have it removed, please send us a message!

Are you ready for Passover?
I'm so grateful to Ben Pagliaro, Jack Kwait-Blank, Billy Jonas, Jacob Spike Kraus, Orin Jacob Reynolds, Jacob Milk Sandler, Eliana Light, Dana Bederson, Kevin McKenzie, Michael Harlow, Bryce Emily Megdal, and @Jacob Glickman for collaborating on this new take on a Passover classic! Our Chad Gadya imagines what would happen if the cat didn't eat the goat. Perhaps the dog would lick the cat, the stick would fetch the dog, and more. Judaism teaches that one mitzvah leads to another, so perhaps this song can inspire us to change our narrative and look for ways to act with loving-kindness. #passover2021 #chadgadya #twozuzzim

Call for Purim Spiel Actors/Line Readers! No acting experience needed!
Purim Shabbat is Friday, February 26th and BCRC's (Virtual) Dr. Seuss Purim Spiel is HAPPENING! Plans are underway - Volunteers are needed! Please let us know that you can participate! :)
Details below in this letter from BCRC's Worship VP, Julia Schneider:
Hello BCRC families!
As Purim approaches, we continue the tradition of putting on a Purim Spiel. Given the ongoing Covid restrictions, we are trying something new this year.
We are producing a video starring YOU that will be shown during the Friday, February 26th Purim Shabbat Service.
This is intended to be funny and showcase our families - no acting experience required; just a desire to have fun, read a few verses and dress up!
We are looking for 7 households to read lines from an existing script, in costume, using your smartphone or tablet* to film a 2-3 minute video (additional direction will be communicated to volunteers). Our intent is to make this a kid-friendly play, welcoming participation from all age groups.
My son Zachary Schneider (5th grade) will serve as Director and will be leading the editorial process. If your family or your children are willing to participate, please email me at [email protected] by Jan 29 and we will set up a planning call for the first week of February.
