Community Church

Sundays: 9:30AM & 11:30AM

Meet God. Meet Friends. Live Life Better.
Sundays: 9:30AM & 11:30AM

GROW step 4 will be held this Sunday at 11:15a. In this class we will provide you with clear “next steps” for serving on a team where you can both contribute and fulfill your calling.

We all have moments in which we ask ourselves, "What was I thinking?!" Starting July 1st this 5-week series reminds us that sometimes its good to stop and remember what we thought about God during these moments.

Our high school students are spending the next week in Myrtle Beach for student life camp. We’d love for you to follow along with their journey on their instagram account: @fe.high | We’re excited and have great anticipation for all that God wants to do in and through them!

Happy Fathers Day!

Special guest, Pastor Shawn Wiebers and his wife, Jennifer, join us this Sunday! After serving 12 years as lead pastor of a thriving church in Oklahoma, the Wiebers have been called to plant a new church in Falcon, CO. We are honored to have Pastor Shawn speak for us this weekend. You don't want to miss it! 9:30a | 11:30a

This past Saturday we hosted our annual Team Orange Awards. Team Orange is the team of volunteers who make things happen around Community. At the event we celebrate the hundreds who serve and we recognized a few people who really set an example in service. We wanted to tell you about them.

Bob Huff Lifetime Achievement Award Winner: Gary May
This year, we lost the man who exemplified a life committed to faithful service to God. Community Church is honored to dedicate this award as the Bob Huff Lifetime Achievement Award. Gary May has lived a life dedicated to service in the church. This volunteer and faithful servant has been serving in our church for close to 30 years. He has helped lead in several areas of our Guest Services Team – He has served as an Usher Leader, helped start our VIP Team, lead our Greater Team and now leads our Hope Team. Gary doesn’t just direct you in what to do, but cares and prays for and with those serving with him. Everywhere you find him, he will always lend a helping hand and will be ready to jump in to a new service opportunity. In the process Gary show others what it means to serve people as Jesus did. Thank you for your years of faithful service, Gary!

Electrifying Award Winners - Jason & Alyssa Sobecki
When we think about Jason and Alyssa, we think of people that are constantly inviting people to Community and are always looking to serve when needed. Whether it is leading a connect group, welcoming new families, or serving in special events, you will always see them doing it with a smile. We call it bleeding orange. When you meet the Sobeckis, you will know they are true raving fans of Community Church! Thank you for serving, Jason & Alyssa!

Grateful Award Winners: Jon & Colleen Hughes
Jon and Colleen are a couple who believe that serving God is a gift! They are always the first ones to volunteer and are solving problems without being asked. Their hearts are geared toward serving others. The Hughes are key volunteers in Messiah’s Market as well as lead a connect group. This past Date Nights, they volunteered to stand outside of our building in the snow just to let parents know that Date Nights was canceled. To this couple, serving God and others is living the dream! Thank you for serving, Jon & Colleen!

Never Say No Award: Bret Cancila
Bret goes to someone who believes in serving as one team. You will never hear him say, “That’s not my job!” or “No one ever told me to do that” even if that means picking up trash, vacuuming, putting things away, and solving problems. Aside from serving as a valuable member of the security and CKids elementary teams, Bret is oftentimes literally the last person to leave church on a Sunday afternoon. He takes responsibility for closing up areas, ensuring everything is put away, and making sure the building is safely locked. He is a true behind the scenes servant. Thank you for serving, Bret!

Accountable Award Winner: John Orpin
John is someone who welcomes both positive and growth feedback with an open heart. He is does not shy away from evaluating performance for himself or his team, and he strives for positive results. He is always willing to provide leadership and service that aligns with the vision and mission set for us. John is willing to give and receive feedback and makes it a priority to work towards making improvements while serving God and serving people. John is always looking to perform at high levels and expects his team to do the same. Thank you for serving, John!

Relational Award Winner: Jeannie Schnur
Jeannie is intentional about building relationships where real growth and development takes place. She connects with those who are new as well as those who are foundational to Community Church. While serving in student ministries, Jeannie makes parents feel comfortable dropping off their babies, so they can enjoy service. She also has a heart for the connect groups we have for women, and she is not afraid to start something new, such as a connect group for parents of special needs children. Jeannie is never without a smile on her face. Thank you for serving, Jeannie!

Over the Top Award Winner: Rick Rollins
Rick believes that people matter to God and so they matter to us. He treats everyone like a VIP. Rick has been a cornerstone in the Service Host Team for several years. His patience, smile, and gentleness towards those coming in through the doors in the Main Auditorium is a great example of welcoming people just the way they are. Whether someone is new or has been coming for many years, they will be at ease as they walk in through those doors. You need a seat? He is ready to help. No seats available? No problem. He will bring a chair for you, give you a high five, and he will always be there to help you. Rick will go over the top to make you feel at home. Thank you for serving, Rick!
