Greetings!!!!

Fran and I hope all is well with you and your family. We have spent now over 30 years serving with the sweet people of the Caribbean. One of the first greetings when we meet each other is "How are you? How is your family?" I have always thought this was awesome. That we care about each other and each other's family.

Christmas is only 37 "sleeps" away!!! In these uncertain days all of the holidays will have a different look and touch this year. One thing that will not be different is we will once again stop and celebrate the birth of Jesus. Another thing that will not be different is there are needs to move the ministry forward in the Caribbean.

We are asking for you, your church, and businesses to pray in helping fulfill the need in two areas of our ministry in the Caribbean. We are finally getting close to finishing the Champs Community Center. We cannot wait until the Falcon Boys Club can meet again and we begin a Friday night youth gathering. On Friday nights we will be reaching students with games, food, and the word of God. At the present, before they come back, we are in need of 300 chairs. These chairs only cost $25 each. So as you pray and God lays on your heart to help with 4 chairs that's only $100. Maybe He is asking you to step out by faith to donate funds for even more chairs.

Recently we mentioned the need for transportation for our pastor in Haiti. A motor bike only cost $1200 brand new. Pastor Macly will be able to travel to the Hope Community Center (home of the orphanage, school, and church) without walking to the Hope Community Center with the new bike. Already we have been contacted by an adult Sunday school that has raised $750 of the needed $1200. You still have time to be part or even finish giving the amount need to purchase the bike.

We have attached a poster explaining where to send your Christmas donation helping one or both of these needs. Our goal is to have all the funds for the chairs and bike before January 30, 2021. Please pray and help us help others in the Caribbean.

Thank you!!!

Why short term missions?? The guy on the left is Stephen. It was his first mission trip, first plane ride, and first time out of the country. During debriefing one evening I shared we are here for two reasons: To know Jesus and Let Him be known. Then I challenged everyone to think of 3 people back home in their world that they could share Jesus. Today, only 3 days after returning from the trip, Stephen was able to lead one of the men he works with to Jesus. This man was one of the three he began praying for. WOW! WOW! WOW! It’s fun serving Jesus. Www.champsmissions.org

friends

Greetings from Freeport Bahamas!!!! I have been sharing with you these past week of an awesome opportunity that you can be part of reaching others with the gospel. WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! I have shared with you:

* The 1.45 acres of land has been donated by the Port Authority of Grand Bahamas (a form of government). They will be donating to us another 1.45 acres this fall for further development of the needs of our ministry.
* We are using sports to draw the boys to the center. Presently two of the three basketball courts are finished and used by over 100 boys every week. The two basketball courts have bee provided by many donors to this ministry.
* The multi -purpose building is needed and cost $200,000. A foundation in Oklahoma has donated $50,000 towards the building and is willing to give another $50,000 when we match this amount with donors like you. Presently we only need $14,200.00 to reach our goal of the matching fund. Once we complete the matching fund campaign, the building can be completed.
* We have a crew of men coming in June to erect the building at their own cost. Once the building is erected (a metal building) we will need the funds to finish the inside.

Fran and I ask you to pray and give so we can reach more boys and their families with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Your donation will be an investment in a young life, a family, for eternity. We sure do hope you will help us reach our matching fund goal..... thank you!!!!!

Champs Missions

[03/24/17]   Here is one reason we have Champs Missions journeys: From Miranda (Liberty nursing student) ....Missing these kiddos so much tonight. Thank you Jesus for the time spent getting to love these kids and for the contagious joy that poured from their little bodies despite their circumstances. Let me have a fraction of their joy in every hour of my life. I left my heart in the Bahamas. I was never interested in pediatric nursing, but these kids just might convert me. God gave me a heart for international missions last week and I will forever want to go back. If you see this post, say a prayer for all of these kids. They are such precious little ones and my heart loves them deeply. #bahamas #mykiddos #myheart #Godisgood #LUSON #internationalmissions

[03/19/17]   What a God filled week!!!! 2 teams coming together for 1 purpose!!! To be like Jesus!!!! Today another 19 Liberty students will return to campus seeing their lives changed and challenged (The Bridge Church returned yesterday). For one week they have been the hands and feet of Jesus. THEY WILL BE MISSED!!!!! As the great theologian Bob Hope once said... "Thanks for the memories..." Now off to speak at our church here in Nassau...Freedom Baptist Church.....

[01/30/17]   Everyone.... I just got a request for a VBS in St. Martin July. I am looking for a few helpers: a game person, craft person, and possibly a music person (I can lead the music thru videos with not problem. But the other two needs are important). What do you think? Do you know of anyone that might be interested or what about YOU!!!I hope all you will have to pay for is your airfare, snacks, a fun day, and souvenirs. I am trying to get the church in St. Martin to provide lodging and meals. So let me know!!!!

Many of you know about the hurricane that went through the Bahamas. The southern islands were devastated. One of our pastors lives on the islands of San Salvador. This island really took a hit from the hurricane. Champs Missions and all of our churches in the Bahamas are trying to help Pastor Hanna and many other brothers and sisters on these islands. Here is a list of the needs right now...... maybe the best is for your to go to www.champsmissions.org and donate on line. EVERY amount that is given 100% will be used to give relief to these dear people.

Our Missionary Pastor Gary Hanna (he is Bahamian) in San Salvador and other families & friends in Acklins, Long Island, & Crooked Island (these are the islands that were devastated. Here are present needs:
- Water
- Non-perishable food
- Baby Items
- Personal Hygiene Products
- Cleaning Supplies
- Clothing
- Generators
Also, you may give monetarily through Champs Missions www.champsmissions.org and needed items will be purchased and delivered to the needed islands
There is also a need for people willing to help in the construction efforts of repairing or rebuilding homes, churches, and other building structures.

[09/08/15]   MINISTRY UPDATE: Last week I mentioned that our church in Nassau was broken into. The only thing they stole was the video projector that is a very vital tool for our church services . I want to report that we have been blessed by two donors who gave the funds needed to purchase a new video projector. Thank you Jesus for these kind and generous donors!!!!

Well it happened!!! Our church, Freedom Baptist Church in Nassau, Bahamas, got broke into. It seems the only thing that was taken was our video projector. The projector is a vital need for our church services and other events. We are still checking to see if anything else was taken.
If you would like to help in replacing the video projector… go to www.champsmissions.org to our donate button. It will cost $700 to replace the video projector.
