Have you seen the many graphic novel lives of the saints that we carry!?!

"[The Legend of Saint Christopher: Quest for a King] is a great story about searching for God, finding Him, serving our neighbors and being faithful to God, even to the point of death. Thumbs up from my boys." —Review by Bobbi, Mama of 4, blogger at Revolution of Love & writer at Blessed Is She

Who do your kids admire? Have you introduced them to a saint lately?

Does keeping up with the news get you down, make you anxious or angry? Try praying the news!

Do you feel overwhelmed and sorrowful in the face of the world’s problems? If so, don’t watch the news, pray it.

Our sisters regularly “pray the news” and we invite you to join us in this simple prayer practice.

Intercessory prayer is a concrete, direct way we can make a difference in the lives of people in need around the world.

Today our sisters are praying for the people of Afghanistan, and we invite you to pray with us.

Steps to Praying the News:

1. Invoke the Holy Spirit as your guide and ask him to intercede through you; he knows the problems of the world better than any of us (see Rom 8:26-27)
2. Watch or read the news and spend a few moments in quiet contemplation, allowing your heart to absorb what is happened around the world.
3. Pray for the people involved in the news stories you have read or watched. If you are in a group, the leader can invite participants to express their intercessory prayer out loud.
4. Pray a closing prayer (e.g. Psalm 67).

If you would like to help the Afghan people with either your time or resources, please contact Catholic Charities.

“Mass and Communion are still the high point of each of my days, the moment in which intimacy with the Lord is deepened and nourished, and in which I am strengthened for whatever the day holds. I look forward to this moment even more now than I did as a child, but it began then—with an invitation of grace and helped by catechists who were able to transmit their own love for Jesus in the Eucharist to a young and open heart.”

Our sister, Sr. Mary Leonora, has been using the Fridays of June to tell her story of falling in love with Jesus in the Eucharist. Visit our feed to see her previous reflections on how Jesus has loved her in and through the Eucharist from childhood and throughout her religious life.

May Jesus set your hearts on fire with His love for you!

Set to become the first millennial saint, Blessed Carlo Acutis was a vibrant, faith-filled Italian teenager who loved technology and the Eucharist. Share Carlo's fascinating and moving story with the young people you love and inspire them on their journey to heaven!

“In Carlo, one could admire a continuous and ever-renewed orientation toward good. That was possible thanks to his surrender to the Lord.”
-Andrea Acutis, Carlo’s father

Carlo’s secret to holiness was his commitment to keeping his heart young and open to the love of Jesus. “To rise to God,” Carlo wrote, “the soul needs to remove the small weights that are sins.” Through frequent confession and examination, Carlo sought to eliminate every attitude, thought, and action that separated him from Jesus so that nothing would stand in the way of Jesus’s desire to make Carlo’s heart like His own.

The witness of Carlo’s life and his ordinary ways of loving—helping the poor, going the extra mile in his chores, dedicating his God-given talents to evangelization, standing up for those who are bullied, cleaning up litter, and more—show us that Christ can transform the hearts of anyone, of any age, as long as they are open to His grace. With Blessed Carlo Acutis, let us ask the grace of an open heart for ourselves, our children, and those most in need of the saving love of Jesus in their lives.

Visit our feed tomorrow as Sister Mary Leonora reflects on how she opens her heart daily to Jesus in the Eucharist for nourishment, strength, and Love beyond all telling.

"God is using everything in his Church and in creation to bring about the redemption of humanity. God communicates himself, his plans, his saving actions through creation. God holds his plans in secret, in his heart, from all eternity, but he slowly unveils them in history in various times and places. God’s plans and revelation culminate in the ultimate saving and revealing action of Jesus in the paschal mystery. This action of God is now something we all have a chance to be present at and to participate in through the liturgical and sacramental life of the Church. God makes his actions present and effective to us through tangible signs—sacraments—and allows us to receive our salvation. And we can only receive salvation by participation in Christ, the ultimate mystery of God made flesh."

If you know us well, you know that the mission of the Daughters of St. Paul is to promote the Gospel using modern media.

For decades, a large part of our media mission to help people get to know Jesus has involved publishing books through Pauline Books & Media.

Recently, our sisters were approached by Tiller Press, a division of Simon and Schuster, to write a book about our experiences and spirituality living in a media world.

We saw this as an opportunity for many, some of whom might never otherwise meet our sisters, to get to know our ministry and learn how much we love Jesus.

In this forthcoming book, releasing July 6, eight of our #medianuns share vulnerably about their faith experiences, crises of faith, struggles, vocational journeys, and the joy of the Gospel.

Pre-order at paulinestore.com/millennial-nuns, and stay tuned to our social media for excerpts!

“After I visited the sisters one summer, they gave me a gift: a used Latin-English weekday missal. It was one of the most treasured gifts I ever received and went with me to daily Mass and even into the convent. For as my love affair with Jesus in the Eucharist grew, so did my vocation, and on Saturday, the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, June 29, 1963 I entered the Congregation of the Daughters of St. Paul – 6 years to the day of my First Communion. I did not choose the date; Jesus chose it for me. First, as the day he drew me to himself in a communion of hearts, and later, as day he drew me to himself in a communion of life….”

Throughout this month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Sister Mary Leonora is using Fridays to tell her story of falling in love with Jesus in the Eucharist. May Jesus set your hearts on fire with His love for you!

“I got baptized a Christian because he electrified me with his faith”
-Rajesh, housekeeper for the Acutis family

Carlo Acutis was on fire with love for Christ and worked tirelessly to share the Love he found in the Eucharist with the world. At age 11, he was already proficient in coding and technology and understood the internet as a powerful tool for reaching and connecting people. Much like Blessed James Alberione, founder of the Daughters of St. Paul and one of the saints who inspired Carlo, he knew this powerful platform could be used to proclaim the Gospel. Motivated by love, Carlo began work on a website that would document Eucharistic miracles across the globe. This four-year initiative was the labor of much research, travel, and prayer. He carried it out with the desire that all who found it would know Jesus was present—Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity—in the Blessed Sacrament.

“The more Eucharist we receive, the more we will become like Jesus,” he wrote. And he lived it in such a way that those who saw him knew it was true.

Visit our feed tomorrow as Sister Mary Leonora shares how Jesus drew her to the spirituality and vision of Blessed James Alberione, founder of the Daughters of St. Paul and role model for Carlo Acutis.
