Hi this is not a desperate call for help. I am alone. I lost both my parents in 2018. I need some help with on where I can get an already cooked Turkey for me someone who does not cook too much, that is me. Or, point me in the right direction where I can buy a cooked Turkey or Turkey breast. Thank you and God Bless!!! Martin Sass
My name is Rocky Sackville.

I am a Christian concerned greatly for our country and have written a book entitled: LORD—HOW WOULD YOU VOTE? / What Works for a Country? I found a lot in the old and new testaments making the case that God is a ‘free market God” or at least does not rail against capitalism as the left does.

Did you know that capitalism or free markets actually bring more people out of poverty than any other type of economic system. (And God cares for the poor).

Jesus strongly rebukes the guy in the Parable of the Talents who pretty much quotes Karl Marx "you take up what you did not lay down and reap what you did not sow". Lk 19:11-27. Jesus judges him with the guy's own words and said he should have put the money in the bank to gain interest—(such a greedy Lord)...and he gives the talents to the guy who had 10 already to the dismay of the socialist complainer who wanted it redistributed to someone who had none. To which Jesus says: "to everyone who has, more shall be given, but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away." Jesus honors hard work and warns against not working! BTW, the nobleman was off amassing wealth (receiving a kingdom for himself) and created a business model by telling his servants to "do business with this until I come back". So in just a few paragraphs we find Jesus in support of wealth, business, banks, interest, hard work, faithfulness, maximizing profits and…opposed to not working and…opposed to redistribution of what is yours because some do-gooder says to do so.

Its’ not just the Parable of the Talents. I was surprised by how many examples I found in the old and new testaments that I believe show the heart of God favoring free markets, opportunity, responsibility, hard work, liberty and also showed Him to be against bo***ge which is what socialistic economies are in spite of the promises to the contrary.
Chapter 6: Explains yeah capitalism, boo Marxism/socialism—did Jesus miss an opportunity?!
Chapter 1: The Year of Jubilee – property rights. (Thou Shalt Not Steal).
Chapter 8: Early Church Giving – redistributive or otherwise?
Have you ever counted how many times the word ‘profit’ is used in the old and new testaments? And by who? (Why would the Lord refer to or incentivize something as useful if it was sinful/bad/detrimental?)

America – the American experiment…our founding—was biblically based. I go into that as well. A section after chapter 11 discusses several other issues including a lot on our founding.

Why am I so concerned?... The American I grew up in is gone. The rule of law, the Constitution are being ignored, worked around. Balance of power and representative government are diminishing. Socialism is openly pushed and Americanism is being dishonored. Religion is quietly targeted for removal from the public discussion. The selling of babies organs is legal?! Did you know Woodrow Wilson favored a ‘modern government’ to which the Constitution should give way. He also stated that not so much should be done by voting but by experts in the administrative state. Scary!!! The left today is on the same course and they have been quietly advancing their agenda for decades.

Christians have been in every war America has fought. Our voice should be heard in this war of ideologies. We should use the truth of the scriptures to both live and vote by. I wrote the book to give Christians especially, but really anyone—a biblical basis for voting for several issues but specifically for a capitalistic or free market economy in-spite of the lefts’ attempt to discredit and vilify what has been one of the great blessings to us from God.

So, if you are interested, the book is available on Amazon and store.bookbaby.com. Paperback is 7-10 dollars and e-book is 2.99.

I hope it helps people as we approach this critical election—probably the most important in our lifetime.
Roses from the FBCA rose garden! How are others' rose bushes faring?
Our bible study in New Jersey is praying for the Graveson family. Thank you for the FB updates. It lets us know how to pray more specifically.
Is there a way to Venmo or Square Cash funds for the Gravesons? Can I just send it to FBCA? (Does FBCA take venmo or square cash?)
So happy to see this on my way home after a beautiful day ...took a quick u-ie and then closer pics. Praying the message of a Living Cross is received by many people who pass by. Sunday IS Coming.... He IS Alive....

Dear Family and Friends,
As we go through the storms of life, we will remember that our souls are anchored in the Lord. May Jesus be our primary focus even when it is difficult to do so. Keep our eyes on the distant shore where God provides peace and joy. Lord, help us to hold out for Your best! May God bless everyone with healing, strength, and courage. Psalm 46, Psalm 91, Isaiah 40, Psalm 27:1 Stay safe and be very careful, Love you all!
I am trying to watch the service, but am having problems.
I enjoy searching online for photos of FBCA, just to see how much that I recollect from my childhood. It was my family's place of worship, from the late Fifties to the mid-Seventies.

I do instantly recognize much of the interior, from photos, such as pillars and stained glass.

President Lyndon Johnson, and his family, made a surprise visit, one Sunday. His family sat near the front, during the sermon. Then afterwords, President Johnson shook hands outside with church members, as everybody was leaving.

There was an assistant pastor, named Mr. Clark, whom I liked, back in the Sixties.

And I heard that a boy in my Sunday School class, from the Sixties, continued to worship there, throughout his adult life and became a prominent senior member. His name is Lee Patterson. Lee must be in his late sixties, now. If anybody knows Lee Patterson, please say hello, just to see whether Lee recalls the name, "George Clark". That is me.
Great 1 bdrm/ 1 bath condo available for rent near the church. Rent includes ALL utilities, use of pool, gym, access to mass transport, and plenty of free parking.

“We can run out of gas emotionally and spiritually, too. The needle for our soul sinks below "E" and we do not have what we need in order to do what we need to do.”

"Fill 'Er Up" | First Baptist Alexandria Gas is now north of $3 per gallon. Just in time for vacation road trips. But we pay it, because we have to get to where we are going.Unless you are driving a Tesla—and then there are issues of battery life and finding a charging station when you need one. No one wants to run out of gas, or battery ...

It’s been a wonderful week of summer camp for both our youth in Pennsylvania and children at CentriKid Camps - Eagle Eyrie!

The youth arrived home safe & sound from Pennsylvania this afternoon. The children are wrapping up their last day and will head home tomorrow.

Pray for the safety of the kids and chaperones as they travel tomorrow. Pray that the experiences at camp will make an eternal impact for Christ! ❤️

A final farewell for Pastor Mikel Dasch.

This past Thursday our staff had a farewell lunch for Pastor Mikel Dasch, with lots of memories shared and some good natured ribbing (since this is Pastor Mikel's love language).

On Mikel's final Sunday two of his former students shared how he had impacted their lives and fun memories with Mikel. You can watch what they had to say in this video.

We would love to hear from more of you, who have been impacted by Mikel. You're welcome to leave him your well wishes and stories in the comments and we'll make sure he gets them!

And finally, this week Mikel is at his final youth camp with our students. Please pray for them all as they worship, grow spiritually and say goodbye.

Happy Juneteenth!

A NEW HOLIDAY: Today Juneteenth, a day celebrating the end of slavery in the United States. A bipartisan congress passed, and the President has signed, legislation designating June 19 as a federal holiday. And it will go into effect immediately– today even.

It commemorates the day in 1865 when Union General Gordon Granger arrived with federal troops in Galveston, TX and announced that slavery was over– "All slaves are free!"– he told them.

This was more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, and months after the Civil War had ended– but slaves in Texas were just now getting the word. And even then, some plantation owners delayed awhile passing on the news to those human beings that they had been enslaving.

Good news, it seems, is not good until it is heard.
- Pastor Don Davidson

"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent?

As it is written, 'How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!'"
– Romans 10:14-15

A preview of Pastor Don's journal today...

"Flannery O'Connor once said that enough has happened to each of us by the time we're eight years old for us to write about for the rest of our lives. Memories from childhood, someone else remarked, are like those Advent calendars we use in December—under each tab is a surprise. Last night I got to thinking about my earliest memories and about how they impact my life still, so many years later."
