[07/28/21]   Great news!

Join VOICE at the Governor's press conference

Sequoia Plaza,
2100 Washington Blvd., outside the Arlington County Community Services Board, a mental health agency.

We expect, given the timing and location, that he will be announcing his proposal for how federal funds be spent on mental health in the Commonwealth.

We just learned about this and want to turn out a VOICE contingent. We are thrilled that Rev. Alice Tewell can attend and would love any other clergy to join her.

WEAR VOICE T-SHIRTS AND BUTTONS!! We will find out if the Governor has heard our call that $47 million of the $4.3 billion in federal $ be allocated to mental heath Crisis Receiving Centers. Yesterday the Virginia Association of Police Chiefs held a press conference pointing to the crisis in the lack of this kind of care and the impact this has on law enforcement. VOICE leaders attended that event yesterday in Richmond.

Text and call others to pop over. There is a parking garage there for the County office building where Human Services is located.

Prince William pushes Virginia to fund community crisis centers amid gaps in mental health staffing

Yesterday, VOICE leaders held a powerful press action with key allies, calling for full funding for the newly-proposed Crisis Receiving Center (CRC) in Prince William County and for Gov. Northam to invest $47 million to build CRCs across the state.

Check out a few of the articles. While they are about Prince William County, VOICE is calling for funding for 10 centers around the Commonwealth!

CCNA - Alexandria Guaranteed Basic Income Pilot Program

Important message from VOICE. Please take one minute to help your neighbor!

Our residents need our support to encourage the City Council to fully fund the Alexandria Guaranteed Basic Income (GBI) Pilot Program using a portion of the American Rescue Plan Act funds our city has received.

The program's impact will be immediate, offering a much-needed boost for our hard-working families throughout the community, helping them pay their bills, find new jobs, and allowing them the opportunity to recover.

Our families deserve and need support now more than ever. This can mean helping a single mother afford childcare, a father of four pay rent, and 3) a middle school student start each day with a nutritional meal.

You can help!

On Tuesday, July 6th, the City Council will vote on the pilot program. To encourage them, please feel free to use the link below to add your name to the growing list of supporters who want to help.

Our Story

For 81 years, Beverley Hills Church has been a progressive community of faith in Northern Virginia. Our congregation embraces diversity. Within our mission statement are the words, 'We welcome all people.' By this we mean that people of any race, ethnicity, national origin, age, religious background, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, physical or mental ability, economic status, or educational background are welcome at Beverley Hills Church.

We affirm that all people are created in the image of God and all are worthy of God's love and grace. We fully include all people in the life and ministry of Beverley Hills Church. We recognize that there are differences among us, but believe we can love each other and work together even though we may not think alike. To all who have known the pain of exclusion or discrimination in the church or in society we proclaim this statement of welcome. We invite all people to join us in our faith journey toward greater love, understanding and mutual respect as we seek to follow in the way of Jesus Christ.

If you are looking for a church home, we would love to have you visit.
