Thought that I'd share this video with you. This is from a Catholic elementary school (in Venice CA) which is one of many in the area where I grew up. (Know lots of St Mark CES student whom I have been friends with for decades)... These kids are really lovely. I hope you enjoy it and may God bless us all as we navigate these waters of the 'new millenium and this horrid pandemic. The power of prayer is at our disposal. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us who have recourse to thee. (BTW... another 'musical padre', with his 'soprano saxophone'). :D https://vimeo.com/406799197?

Thank you Father O'Hare. Your words always bring peace to my soul. I am so thankful I can still hear you even though we can not physically be in the temple. I feel we are all together spiritually and that gives me peace.
Wishing everyone a very Blessed Christmas!
I saw the adoration chapel is closed. When does it reopen?
Just thought I'd share...
To the Sat. morning St. Louis crowd:
My family typically attends mass at St. Bernadette in Springfield. However, when we saw that St. Louis offered Sat. morning confessions, my mother and I thought we would try it out as a way to better fit it into our schedule during Lent. My 16 yr old son has severe autism and we brought him along. He usually does very well in church, but for some reason, he was extremely cranky on this particular morning.
We walked into the church at the end of mass and proceeded to make a noisy scene as my son refused to be quiet and then refused to leave with me (because he knew he was in trouble). My mother stood in line for confession and a nice lady facilitated her move to the front of the line knowing that we were now in a hurry to get my son home. When I came to stand in line - again, the woman asked people in line if I could move to the front since my son was waiting in the car.
I am recounting these details because I truly felt like the people there that morning (March 10) went out of their way to help us. They could have judged and dismissed, but they accepted and offered assistance. I am truly grateful and wanted to point out the wonderful example that the Parish displayed for us during this Lenten season.
Amazon users should check out Amazon Smile - it adds up if we all do it
We should all be using Amazon Smile instead of the main Amazon site to benefit our school.

It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness. He is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfied you. The Arlington Diocese is blessed to welcome 13 new seminarians into formation towards the priesthood, including St. Louis's very own, Ryan Farrell.

Thanks to Ryan for all of his hard work and commitment to St. Louis Catholic Church this past year as the former Director of Youth Formation.

He wore many hats in the formation of our youth from serving as stakeholder for WorkCamp to preparing children in the RE program for receiving the sacraments.

We will miss seeing him regularly at the parish but, will keep him in our prayers as he continues to follow God's will for his life.

We are excited to announce the Diocese has 13 new seminarians this year! Bishop Burbidge shares in his latest podcast, “This is the result of God’s grace, good families, and the prayers of so many in our diocese who pray for an increase in vocations.” #ArlingtonVocations

Happy Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel!

Today parishioner's at the 8:45am Mass enrolled in the Brown Scapular--a devotion started by a Carmelite by the name of St. Simon Stock in 1251.

Our Lady appeared to him and handed him a woolen scapular making the promise that "whosoever dies in this garment shall not suffer eternal fire. It shall be a sign of salvation, a protection in danger and pledge of peace."

If you are an incoming freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduating senior, we invite you to join us for the Steubenville Youth Conference in a month!

"I have attended two Steubenville Youth Conferences: Main Campus 5 in 2017 and Main Campus 5 in 2018! I remember not knowing what to expect the first time. I was honestly just excited to get out of my house for a weekend.
.
.
.
I didn’t know it when I signed up, but that weekend would radically change my life.
.
.
.
Before attending I thought Catholicism was boring and something only older people could relate to.
.
.
.
Upon arriving I was shocked to see thousands of teens who unapologetically loved their faith.
.
.
.
It was the first time in my life when I wasn’t mocked for my faith but rather I was lovingly encouraged by everyone around me. It’s important that I mention that I was not the “type” of teen to attend a conference like this. I say “type” because there truly is no type of person-everyone belongs and everyone is welcome. I was not active in my faith at all, and I worried that I wouldn’t fit in. I was warmly welcomed and quickly Steubenville became my safe haven and happy place.
.
.
.
I was able to encounter Christ like never before, and for that I am eternally grateful!
.
.
.
I never knew a single weekend could change and strengthen my faith so much.
.
.
.
I have never heard of anyone who regretted attending, so if you are considering attending, do it!"-Mariah, Grade 12

.

"I've had the privilege of attending six conferences in three different locations--five in Florida and one in Atlanta! I attended one after my freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior years of high school and then came as a volunteer and a chaperone. They were an incredible opportunity to build LASTING FRIENDSHIPS with other Catholic youth whom I am still friends with to this day! It was a huge INSPIRATION to see the speakers and musicians share about their FAITH and invite us to PRAY with them throughout the weekend. It was the first time I had experienced seeing so many priests and religious sisters in one room! I understood a little bit more about who I was as a BELOVED daughter of GOD who desired nothing more than to be with me! It was through a life-changing weekend of SACRAMENTS, prayer, talks, ADORATION, laughter, meals, community, and rest that I felt inspired and empowered to go back out into the world to live as an AUTHENTIC and radical WITNESS of my CATHOLIC faith! I can't wait to go back for a seventh time with St. Louis in July!"-Alice, Assistant Director of Youth Formation
