Over the last seven years our family has moved eight times. Through the craziness of it all we’ve felt direction and peace as we've tried to let the spirit guide us to where the Lord needs us to be. It hasn't always been easy, in fact most of the time it hasn't. However, as we've followed these promptings we've been blessed with three incredible children, steady employment, and a roof over our heads. I know through our faith and obedience the Lord has and will continue to “move mountains” for us.

I found a need for Jesus found in ministry!! I was playing my Bricks Ball Crusher and a commercial came up...as usual! But this one was different! The "commercial" asked, "Do you want someone to pray with you?" And I, without hesitation, answered Yes!
Sooner than I imagined I met 2 Elders from the Alexandria Ward! Loved meeting them....
Now I find Jesus' comfort literally All The Time!
I am saved as I was baptised into the body of JCLDS followers!
Thank God for all His Followers! And Prayer partners!

Our family has undergone a lot of uncertainty over the past year and a half. We were guided through prayer to make some serious changes. We moved from a historic downtown to a rural homestead. We were also led to find a new church. We deliberated deeply over denomination and distance but kept coming back to the thought of trying out a church nearly 30 minutes away, not far from our old home. Having been friends with a family of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for quite some time we couldn't help but think of their example and joy when making this decision. "What about their church?," we started asking ourselves. Answers to so many questions were available through the Church if only we sought them. As parents of two small children, we want to guide them along the right path and do everthing in our power to keep them safe. Initially the LDS preparedness handbook was our guide to peace in troubled times. How can we be so cautious about one threat while not being prepared through small measures like properly installed smoke detectors? We started checking things off the list and found more and more peace. Then we asked ourselves, what if we had this kind of preparedness on a spiritual level? We called our long time friends and told them about wanting to come to Church. They were so excited! After Church they invited us over for dinner and to meet with the missionaries. This continued for weeks. My wife and I were worried that something was going to come up in the next lesson that we weren't ready for but we only felt more peace. We would talk to each other before bed to see if we were on the same page, astonishingly in lockstep we moved forward. It wasn't long before baptism was brought up. We were initially shocked at how prompt and prepared the missionaries were in guiding us on this new journey. It was just so different from our experiences with other tried and failed denominations. After initial hesitancy we decided to be baptized right away. Reluctancy with the words of wisdom was a big hurdle. With faith we jumped in to the no coffee lifestyle and bid adieu to sweet tea. We thought it would be harder, particularly my wife thought it would be harder to stop drinking alcohol. Now that we are baptized we truly feel the Holy Ghost attending us. My wife hasn't struggled with giving up alcohol at all. The joy and peace that we sought is being unfolded to us. We're so thankful to have the Gospel in our lives. We're joyful to have Jesus as our savior and redeemer. We could go on and on about how welcomed we've been at church and how many members have invited us into their homes with open arms and spirit. It's been a truly amazing experience and the best decision we've made for ourselves and our children.

My Name is Brother Lyn Moss,
First counselor of the Branch Presidency in marksville. I Became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mar 2006. Prior to that I had spent a decade being more spiritual than religious. I had investigated many of the different religions and when I started dating my Wife a few months before hand and I was surprised at how powerful I felt the spirit there. Since joining I have always had a voice and haven't had a problem the scriptures or teachings of the past presidents that general conference hasn't covered it just takes faith and time to find it. I stay and do what I can because I still have the most powerful sense of the holy spirit when I am sharing gospel and exercising my calling. I Know God and Jesus are my light and savior and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has the fullness of the gospel. I bear my testimony in Jesus name Amen.

It has been quite a journey finding the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was christened as a baby and later baptized in another church. When missionaries told me about the vision that Joseph Smith had, I knew it was true. I have witnessed the growth of the church in Opelousas from a small branch to the building of our chapel. Now we are a ward. I'm grateful to have a living prophet to guide us. I'm grateful for Jesus Christ who suffered and died that we might return to our Heavenly Father. This is my testimony that the church is true and all saving ordinances have been restored.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the single most important thing in our family’s life. As a result of the Plan of Salvation, instituted by our Heavenly Father and brought to pass through the life and eternal sacrifice of His Only Begotten Son, we have the opportunity to maintain, for all eternity, the familial bonds we work so hard to build in this life. We know that as we strive to keep the covenants that we have made with the Lord that we will grow closer as a family and, ultimately, we will grow closer to Him. We testify that our Heavenly Father is the same yesterday, today, and forever. That, as he did in days past, he has called a living prophet in our day to guide and direct us and once again restored the authority of His Holy Priesthood to the Earth to officiate in those essential, saving ordinances. We know, through personal prayer and revelation, that Jesus is the Living Christ. That he guides and directs His Church. We testify that the Book of Mormon stands as a second witness to the divinity of Christ and as a witness of the restoration of His Church. Together with the Bible, the Book of Mormon, provides us with a surety of the Gospel. Christ is our Savior and your Savior. Through His Atonement, all the wrongs and ills of this life can and will be made right. We invite everyone, everywhere to test out His word, to read the Book of Mormon and pray for a confirmation from the Holy Ghost that it is the Word of God and evidence that He loves and guides us in our day.

"I like to bear my testimony that I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I was able to see my life change miraculously after I joined the church. Joining the church assisted me in seeing the good in people and a brighter side to life. I was able to connect with Jesus Christ on a deeper level after reading parts of the Book of Mormon. I appreciate and thank the members for loving my son and I. And I speak these things in Jesus's name. 🙏

From Savannah Pharris:
I believe my testimony started before what i call my "aha!" moment. I started going to church regularly then I started to pray but not just a small little quick prayer instead they were long, meaningful, powerful, and genuine. With tears running down my face and screamin in my car I asked God if this was what I was supposed to be doing and I needed him to show me that he was real and there... a few days later I was in a terrible car accident where I flipped my car twice and rolled three times. I wasn't supposed to survive that but I did I might have a broken back but I'll take the pain as a reminder that he showed me what was real and what was right. He saved my life that day so I could become a member of the church and that I could be baptized and tell other people my testimony.

I know my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live. I know they are just a prayer away. They uplift me when I need them. They enlighten me as I study. They comfort me when I am sad and they rejoice with me when I find joy. When I obey Heavenly Fathers commandments, which I fall short many times, he blesses me. I know I have found the fullness of the gospel in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It is truth and light and love. I still struggle sometimes but Heavenly Father and my elder brother Jesus Christ will always be there to lift me up. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
