Faith in the biblical sense is substantive, based on the knowledge that the One in whom that faith is placed has proven that He is worthy of that trust.

In its essence, faith is a confidence in the person of Jesus Christ and in His power, so that even when His power does not serve my end, my confidence in Him remains because of who He is.

Thank you so much for the warm welcome of baby Austin at his first service today!! We were so excited to introduce him to our church family!!!
Come see Annie! You can see Addison as Miss Hannigan and Kate as Lilly. Mercer Middle. Friday at 7. Sunday at 3.
An amazing outreach to their community, and if you've growing youngsters you know how quickly they grow into and out of everything. My daughter, Erin Klanderman LaMont tells me they've been doing this for eight years and most of it will be gone by noon Saturday, so arrive early if you’re interested.
Simply amazing.

During last Sunday's service we collected 167.1 pounds of food to donate to the Dulles South Food Pantry (DSFP)! Since the start of our V&B summer food drive we have collected and donated a total of 697.8 pounds of food to the DSFP.

Let's keep up the momentum! When you are shopping this week, please consider buying some smaller sized containers of cereal bars, pancake mix, flavored oatmeal, or corn flakes to donate. With just 6 weeks and 302.2 pounds remaining we need to average ~50 lbs a week to meet our goal of 1,000 pounds.
V&B Outreach Committee Update: Last Sunday V&B donated 75.4 pounds of food to the Dulles South Food Pantry (DSFP)! When you are shopping this week, please consider buying some smaller sized containers of peanut butter, fruit cups, mandarin oranges, fruit cocktail, and pineapple to donate! (No glass containers, please.)

Since the start of our V&B summer food drive our congregation has donated a total of 530.7 pounds of food to the DSFP! That means we are over half way to our goal of 1,000 pounds with 7 weeks to go; we need to average ~67 lbs a week to make the goal.

Vine & Branches will be hosting a bike drive for Nica Bikes. Please set aside your bikes for donation to bring on Sunday May 2 (9:00-3:00). 25615 Lennox Hale Dr. Aldie, VA 20105

Since 2008, NicaWorks has been helping churches and communities in the poorest regions of Nicaragua with education, healthcare and development opportunities. www.nica.works

The Nica Bike Shop has been a very successful program. Donated bikes are shipped from the U.S. Young men and women trained in bike repair, administration and marketing run the shop and a portion of the profits go back into NicaWorks.

More than 13,000 have been shipped and families all across Nicaragua have been blessed by the bikes. We take ALL bikes—ANY size and in ANY condition.

NicaWorks is a 501(c)(3) organization and a receipt is provided for a full tax write-off.

A brief video about the Nica Bike Shop:

vimeo.com/206706899

NicaWorks is based in Herndon, VA. The operation in the United States has no paid staff and is run entirely by volunteers. We have many opportunities for young volunteers who need community service hours.

The bikes are shipped from our warehouse in Chantilly, VA in 40 foot containers that travel by sea to Nicaragua. The shipments go out 3 to 4 times per year and the collection of bikes in the U.S. goes on continuously.

The in-country NicaWorks staff are all Nicaraguan. God has blessed the ministry with much fruit as they work with pastors, mentor youth, make disciples and evangelize. Last fall the team baptized 20 new believers!
