When this quarantine started, I was ready to have more quiet time with the Lord. I started reading and the Lord began to show me some unpleasant facts about myself. I was being unkind with my words towards my children. I found myself to be jealous. Feelings of inadequacy began to resurface. Lies began to fill my mind like, "you're not good enough" or "nobody wants to be your friend!" I found myself spending more time on social media than in God's word & prayer.
The scriptures revealed a truth I was not ready to hear. 2 Pet 2:1, “So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, & all unkind speech.” As the weeks passed by, I actually spent less time with the Lord. I struggled with bitterness, laziness & selfishness. This is not where I wanted to be! I thought to myself, “What do I do?” The Lord put a word on my heart, "wisdom!” So, I asked the Lord for wisdom. He showed me that I needed to be more intentional & spend time with Him. I needed to confess my sins & allow the Lord to prune me of those things that are not of Him.
As I continued reading, God began to filter out the lies. He then showed me that I needed to pray for more mercy, peace and love! Jude 1:2, “May God give you more and more mercy, peace, and love.”
I needed more mercy & compassion towards my children to show them the same kindness that the Lord has shown me. 1 Pe 2:3, “Now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.” I needed more peace & calmness that can only come through Christ by spending time in His word and in prayer. The result of prayer is peace (Phil 4:6-7).
Lastly, I needed more love! What kind of love? True, unselfish love by putting others needs before my own. The kind of love that is found in 1 Cor 13. God knows our thoughts and knows what we need; all we have to do is ask! Sometimes what God has to show us isn't pretty & doesn’t feel good. God has used this time to refine me (to remove impurities). In this time of refining, God has used it to cleanse, sift & filter unwanted behavior in my life.
Whatever you’re going through in this quarantine, spend time in God's word & prayer. Allow His Word to work in your heart.
Do you remember the day you confessed Jesus as the Son of God, Savior of the world?
Q: When and where did it happen for you?
I recently listened to a message on Revival and God got a hold of my heart! I would love to say, “wow, great message” and leave it at that but I can’t! You see on occasion I have left church saying those very words and soon after set them aside and forgot about them.
Every word from this message was blowing me away. Here are a few things that caught my attention:
1. God wants to make me holy as He is holy. I desire for God to work His Holiness in me.
2. God wants to remove my grave clothes. When Jesus called out Lazarus, he was still wearing his grave clothes. I have been called out by Jesus to a new life but have chosen at times to continue to wear my grave clothes by being unforgiving, unloving and holding on to offenses & grudges. At times, I have neglected to shed off the grave clothes that bind me and hinder the personal revival that God wants to work in me.
3. God wants me to demonstrate His Word! It is easier “defining Christ than demonstrating Christ!” James 1:22-25 talks about being a hearer of the word and not a doer and deceiving ourselves in the process.
So often I read these words, “love one another, forgive one another as Christ has loved and forgiven you,” while falling short to live it out. I can see when I have DEFINED who Christ is and how the church should be…but at times I myself have neglected to DEMONSTRATE who Christ is.
In times of many words and no works of love, I am thankful that I have women in my life to hold me accountable to these truths.
4. God wants me to offer my all!
The sinful woman in Luke 7:38 anointed the feet of Jesus by pouring out her fragrance. What she poured out, came back to her. This is so beautiful! Whatever I do for my Savior will come back to me. The fragrance of His eternal love, hope, forgiveness, grace & mercy will be given to me. This woman poured out costly oil on the feet of Jesus. She didn’t say a word! Instead, she wept & wiped His feet with her hair and Jesus accepted what she did and considered it a good work. Not only did she bring a costly fragrance, but she brought the fragrance of her brokenness. She didn’t allow anyone or anything to keep her back from worshiping Jesus.
May we work on being holy as He is holy and not only define Christ but demonstrate Him to those around us. May we offer our all to Jesus!
Do you see it?
We are all in a season of rapid change. Even though it may feel like time has stood still and your life has been put on pause, change is still happening at this very moment.
It may appear as if God has completely stopped working in your life. After all, you’ve been indoors for weeks following the “stay home” and quarantine rule! Your view of life is the size of your window and the four walls seem to be getting smaller with each passing day!
Maybe you’ve even forgotten what God was doing in your life before our world was hit with the Corona Virus! It has become a far off memory that seems impossible to pick up from where you left off! Let me reassure you that God has not forgotten the work He began in you before everything happened.
God is still at work behind the scenes and no one can reverse it! Nothing can stop Him, not even a global pandemic. Philippians 1:6 says, “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” This verse is a boost of confidence and reminds us of who our God is and what He will be faithful to do in our lives!
God declares a mighty promise in Isaiah 43:19 “Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.” God will not only be faithful to complete the work which He started in you but He will also be faithful to do a “new” thing in you! Something that seems impossible, too hard or meant for someone else! God will do it! It will be something you’re not even thinking about right now, or can’t even imagine no matter how hard you try!
The new things that are coming are in the works. God is divinely working at this very moment on your behalf.
He loves you and has not forgotten about you during this pandemic! Keep your eyes on Him. Draw close to Him with all of your heart and be ready for what He’s about to do!
Love you friends❤️
Philippians 4:6-7 NLT “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.” Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
In the beginning of this verse we are told what NOT to do: “don’t worry about anything!” Next, we are told what we should do: “instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.” That is not all; if you keep reading there is a promise attached: “Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
If we pray to God instead of worrying, we will experience His peace. God’s peace will guard our hearts and minds as we live in Christ Jesus. This is one of God’s many wonderful promises!
Lately, I have had to put these verses into practice. It’s been a struggle trying not worry about anything. There is the worry of death all around, getting sick, or getting others sick, shortages, work, not being able to gather together, and the list goes on.
But God! God through His Word has been reminding me not to worry because He cares for me (1 Peter 5:7). He knows everything about me (139:1), He is with me (Isaiah 41:10) and He will give me His peace (John 14:27).
God is greater than anyone, and bigger than anything (Philippians 2:9; Isaiah 40:26). For the things we see now are only temporary; He is Eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18). When I turn my worry into prayer & worship, I no longer focus on myself but on the Lord!
Whatever you’re worried about today, God knows! Nothing is a surprise to Him. Pray about it and tell Him what you need and thank Him for all He has done. Together, let’s turn our worry into worship and experience God’s peace that will exceed our understanding!
Lord Jesus, thank You for all that You have done (John 3:16; Romans 5:8; Ephesians 2:1-10) and are still going to do (Revelation 1:7-8; 21:4-6). In Jesus name, Amen.

Everyday, opportunity to “do good” knocks on our door. Goodness is a fruit or characteristic of the Holy Spirit that is produced in a believers life. Scripture tells us whatever we sow, that we will also reap. We can either sow to the spirit or sow to the flesh. The results of our daily actions (sowing) will be revealed in due season. Take each opportunity to sow seeds of goodness and wait for the harvest! Do good to ALL, especially to those who are of the household of faith. Opportunity knocks on your door today; do good!

When Covid-19 hit New Mexico everything started selling out quickly; from toilet paper to hand sanitizer to some food items.
People were worried, concerned & panicked. What was going to happen? To be real, my household had many concerns. My Husband was concerned about our family getting sick, my kids were worried about what they were going to do for school and I was concerned about making sure we had what we needed as a family.
The first couple of weeks, stores everywhere were sold out of multiple items. I would see signs in the stores or on the internet that said, “Sold Out!” The words, “Sold Out” have really been standing out to me. I know the Lord was speaking to me so I was quiet and listened to what He had to say to me.
This week I was reading in Genesis 22:3-14 (Go read it) where Abraham had faith and trusted in God to provide what he needed!
Abraham, was a man of great faith who fully depended on God. I love how Abraham put the focus on God & recognized how God provides.
I was talking with a sister in Christ about the faith of Abraham and I mentioned to her how we can have faith for many things but then there’s that ONE thing where we lack faith even after knowing what God has already done in and thorough us. She replied, “Yeah, it’s so that we can be dependent on Him and reminded how much we still need Him!” Wow, so this is what God was speaking to me. I need to be dependent on Him - always and in all things!
The words, “Sold Out” came back to me. It made me think of being sold out for Christ. What does that mean? It means to be completely surrendered and fully dependent upon Him! It means to surrender all: our lives, money, time, relationships, possessions, decisions, fears, concerns and the list goes on.
If you are having times of worry or concern during this pandemic, you can be comforted knowing that our God is a God who provides! He will provide for our every need. The same God who provided for Abraham is the same God who will provide for you and me!
So let’s be “Sold Out” for the Lord in everything we do and remember to fully depend upon Him.
In times of waiting such as these (in quarantine), God will use to strengthen us in heart. It is in the waiting that God prepares us for what’s to come next. Often times, we feel as if our heart and flesh are failing (and they do) but it is in our weakest, most vulnerable and needy moments in life that God’s strength is proven strong. No matter how weak you may feel today, God is your rock. He is your strength! For when you are weak, He is strong! May God remain the strength of your heart💛 Press on in the strength of the Lord your God!

It was Monday morning, March 16th that I had an appointment to meet with the ladies in Glorieta, NM to plan our Thrive Spring retreat. As I was getting ready to walk out the door, I received a call letting me know that our appointment had been canceled and the venue was closing due to Covid-19. Businesses, restaurants & churches were slowly shutting down. We had to cancel our spring bible study, women’s retreat & Easter service. Our church services were only available online.
I was thinking back to four weeks ago & how everything suddenly changed. Proverbs 16:1 came to my mind, “The preparations of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.” *Preparations - means to plan and prepare, to make arrangements.
I have been working from home for 4 years now and my husband has an essential job so we both have been blessed to continue working. Other than not being able to attend and serve at church our lives had not really changed. I thought I was okay until depression, anxiety & fear started kicking in. I wanted things to go back to normal.
I found myself more & more in isolation. I was afraid to reach out. I didn’t know how to adjust to this new season of life. I got caught up in the storm and in what “I wanted” but the Lord was saying, “the answer comes from Me.” What answer was the Lord trying to give me? Was I listening?
Then the Lord gave me 1 Peter 2:9 and reminded me of who I am in Christ and the purpose He has for my life! “ But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
Even though my plans have been changed, God still has a plan and a purpose for my life! So, with each day I am purposing in my heart to know Him more in everything I do & I’m listening for His voice so I can hear “His answer!” I want God to use me during this time to be the light and share His love!

“God be merciful to us and bless us, And cause His face to shine upon us, Selah
That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations.
Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You.
Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy!
For You shall judge the people righteously, And govern the nations on earth. Selah
Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You.
Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us.
God shall bless us, And all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.”
Thank you for joining us online for an hour of prayer! Send us your prayer requests and we will pray for you! May God bless you & your family during these difficult days! Keep your eyes on the Lord and keep on praying! There is power in prayer!

How do we stay on track and focused on all that God has for us?
The answer is in the Bible - God's Word. Every Scripture is inspired by God, which means God breathed. It is living and powerful! It is useful to learn, and to teach. We must know God's Word and make it our final authority!
God's Word is useful to correct us and expose areas that need to be changed and sins that need to be confessed.
When we allow God to correct us, He restores us to an upright state, as seen in Job 5:17 "Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; Therefore do no despise the chastening of the Almighty.
God's Word will help us practice righteousness, which is right standing with God or correctness in thinking, feeling and acting; a condition acceptable to God, conforming of our hearts and life to His divine law.
When we allow God's Word to teach, prove, restore, correct, chasten and increase our virtue, He will set us apart to fulfill His will.
We can be assured in these perilous times that God is on the throne and He has given us instruction through His Word.
My heart is to spend more time in God’s Word learning and growing and becoming the woman He desires me to be.
