God can save your marriage...

This semester, Audra shared how her marriage was on the brink of divorce until she came to faith in Jesus Christ! What seemed like an impossible situation became possible with the help of the Lord! It was at thrive women’s ministry that she made a public decision to give her life to Jesus! Things started to change in her heart and in her life and in her marriage. It wasn’t long before her husband also surrendered his life to the Lord. Together they were changing and working on their marriage and began to experience the blessings of walking in obedience according to God’s Word! God saved their marriage! Audra and her husband are a living testimony of God’s saving and restoring power.

If your marriage is struggling, take these steps of obedience and faith and watch God work:

1. First and foremost, if you haven’t already, give your life to Jesus Christ! The Bible says, if you confess the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart, you will be saved! You can pray a simple prayer something like this: “Lord Jesus, please forgive me for all my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior and ask you to come and live inside of my heart! I believe that you died and rose on the third day! Here’s my life Lord! Fill me with your Holy Spirit, and give me the strength to follow you the rest of my life. In Jesus name, Amen.

2. Pray and ask the Lord to change your heart and change any ways that are unpleasing to Him and that are unhealthy for your marriage.

3. Commit to praying for your husband on a daily basis.

4. Commit to honoring & respecting your husband as unto the Lord (Ephesians 5:33).

5. Remain humble and teachable in the process of working on your marriage.

Have faith for your marriage❤️

Are you experiencing a loss in your life? The kind of loss that leaves an emptiness and ache so deep that it hurts.

In this life, we go through seasons of loss. We experience the loss of loved ones, loss of friendships, and loss of what could have been. These are seasons of deep pain and sorrow.

We may not understand the reason for these difficult seasons but we can turn to the One who does. He knows our lives from the beginning to the end. His thoughts toward us are good and not evil. His plans are to prosper us and to give us a future and a hope. He promises to never leave us or forsake us. He is ever-present in our most difficult seasons of life.

The Lord knew that we would walk through seasons of suffering. In His wisdom and foreknowledge, He left us promises in His Word that would help us get through. His word is like a healing balm, it soothes, comforts and even heals our broken hearts.

The Psalmist, David knew who to turn to for comfort and healing. He wrote about his pain and heartache in the book of Psalms. In his distress he wrote:

“Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.” Psalms‬ ‭4:1‬

Whatever kind of loss you are experiencing, cry out to the Lord today and open your Bible and immerse your broken heart in His healing Word!

“He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.” Psalms‬ ‭147:3‬ ‭

Studying “Women of Faith” from the Bible was truly life changing!

Often times when we read about these great women of faith we only focus on the highlights and can miss the trials, challenges and pain they endured leading up to that moment. As we studied each woman, we soon discovered how relatable, real and raw their story was. God did the impossible in every story!

If you missed the study, you can find all the teachings, including personal testimonies on our YouTube Channel (Calvary Chapel Southwest).

Remember, your story of faith is in the making! Share it with others along the way!

“What if” = fear
“Even if” = faith

Everyday, the opportunity to live out our faith is given to us. We can either choose fear or faith!

If we choose to walk by faith and live by faith, we will grow in our faith!

If you are struggling to have faith, take some time to bow your heart before the Lord and ask Him to increase your faith. Ask Him to help you with any doubt or unbelief and then surrender all to the Lord. He will be faithful to guide you in the right direction! Remember, God can see what you cannot see, therefore you can trust Him!

“I will not believe!”

Thomas, one of the twelve disciples would not believe the report that Jesus appeared to the other disciples while he was away. Keep in mind this appearance took place after Jesus died on the cross and rose on the third day, so you can only imagine how challenging it would have been to believe this kind of report.

Maybe Thomas thought the other disciples were crazy or joking around with him. Whatever the case was, Thomas determined not to believe what the disciples were saying “unless he saw" Jesus with his own eyes!

Scripture tells us to walk by faith and not by sight! Where was Thomas' faith? It’s clear in this passage that his faith was not in its shining moment. Thomas' unbelief weakened his faith. Unbelief is one of those things that creeps in and undermines your faith. It demands to see and causes you to doubt. Unbelief will say, “unless I see, I will not believe!”

Thankfully Jesus appeared again to the disciples eight days later and this time, Thomas was there! What happens next must have shocked Thomas to the core. Jesus said, “reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side.“ I wonder if the other disciples stood there with their hands over their mouths thinking to themselves, “Oh Thomas!”

Jesus didn’t have to make Himself known to Thomas but He did. Why? He didn’t want Thomas to stay stuck in unbelief! He told him, “Do not be unbelieving, but believing!” Thomas replied, “My Lord and my God!”

We have this written story in order that we may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of God, and that believing we may have life in His name! Just because we can’t see or touch Jesus, doesn’t mean that He isn’t real or present in our lives. Just because we can’t see how God is divinely moving and working behind the scenes, doesn’t mean He’s not working! Faith is believing that God is working even when we don’t see it or feel it!

Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

What do you need to have faith for? Are you waiting to see it to believe it?

(Read John 20:24-31)
