Trinity House Catholic Worker

We are an ever-growing community of contemplative activists operating from a world-view of abundance. Living into the principles derived from Dorothy Day, Peter Maurin, and The Catholic Worker movement.

[03/15/21]   Trinity House is collecting children's books in Spanish to be distributed to the children of asylum seekers in both El Paso, Texas and Juárez, Mexico. If you are able to help, please call (505) 842-5697 to make arrangements to drop the books off at Trinity House. If you have books to donate but need to have them picked up please email - [email protected]

[11/16/20]   The nights are getting colder. Please remember our brothers and sisters who were without shelter. If you have any old blankets or jackets that you can donate, please bring them by Trinity House and we will see that they find a new home.

Almost a month later, and we're still thinking about that time Fr. Richard Rohr was here blessing the house, the leadership, and the next chapter for Trinity House Catholic Worker. Thank you Fr. Richard, Donna for the photo, and for all who came out to celebrate with us. We won't soon forget. Our next liturgy will be November 21st with Jean Pierre (JP) Arrossa, look out for event updates – we hope to see you here!

[07/29/16]   Meditation classes are over for now...but stay tuned for the next adventurous class to begin....

[07/21/16]   Dear friends,

One of the highlights of my new 'vocation' here at Trinity House is serving meals to 'our boys" (they are nearly all men) who come to the door. We offer meals twice daily - for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. If it's too hot, no-one comes, but most days we see a few folk each morning and afternoon.

We get to know what they like to eat. One younger 'guest' would often present himself outside the designated hours and ask for two servings of dessert 'to take away'. The second one was for his grandmother.

We hadn't seen him for a while and a few days ago he turned up, not asking for dessert, but for a big bag of ice. This is not such a strange request because it has been very hot. My co-worker dutifully went to the ice-maker in the freezer and filled a plastic bag with ice. As he thanked her, our young friend said that it was for his grand mother... He had asked around the neighborhood for ice, but no-one had any. His grandmother had just come home after having had a hip replacement and he was looking after her and he wanted to put ice on her wound to reduce the pain and swelling ...

What a privilege to help this compassionate young man care for his grandmother. We never know who our guests are and how much they can teach us!

I love this 'job' ...

Om shanti,

[07/21/16]   The meditation sessions are going very well. Great turn out every week. Thank you everyone who has been coming.

[06/30/16]   First night of meditation went very well..Thank all of you that attended. I think it is going to be an intense 4 more weeks..But...Just let it go!

Serving guest at the door..I love doing this
