I grew up in this church back when it was Blake Road and I need the prayer warriors help, I have a request. An autistic boy in my neighborhood lost his hairless cat outside today. That cat is his best friend. It's freezing outside, has been raining on and off today, and we can't find him. We finally quit looking just now at 11:30 @ night. I'd appreciate the help, thanks. I really appreciate it. I'll keep y'all posted.

Great quote! Think about it. If you truly believe in the deepest part of you that God is the essence of good and love, then you know there is no place for fear and panic. So ask yourself, how big is your God? Who are you going to rely on, God or your emotions?

No matter the circumstances, the all knowing God we believe in and trust in is in control!

Blessings to you all today! 🥰🙏

The road to success is not straight.

There is a curve called Failure.

A loop called Confusion.

Speed bumps called Friends.

Red lights called Graves.

Caution lights called Family.

You will have flats called Jobs.

But, if you have:

A spare called Determination,

An engine called Perseverance,

Insurance called Faith,

A driver called God,

You will make it to a place called SUCCESS.

Any ideas on what we can do during these difficult times to show that we, the church, are the hands and feet of Jesus?

Sharing another story from our friend Ann.

The Butterfly

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole.

Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no further.

Then the man decided to help the butterfly, so he took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily.

But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time.

Neither happened!

In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.

What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were God’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that is would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If we went through our life without any obstacles, perhaps that would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been.

And we could never fly.

Author unknown.

Let’s join in! What do you say Sonrise family and friends?

I am calling on everyone to start praying for our nation every day at 7:14. This is based on 2 Chron.7:14 where the Lord says, “ If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”. There is power in united prayer. Let’s ask the Lord to turn back COVID-19. Let’s pray for our leaders, first responders and pastors. Let’s pray that those who have coronavirus would heal quickly. Let’s pray others would not get it. Let’s pray for a spiritual awakening in America!

Wings For LIFE International

We will be sharing posts with positive stories posted by Ann Edenfield Sweet founder of Wings for LIFE International. Hope you find them as inspiring as we do!

Each week at Wings For L.I.F.E. I like to close the meeting with a positive story. Since we aren’t able to meet right now, I thought I’d start sending out a “positive story” or some of my favorite quotes on a daily basis. Many of you aren’t able to attend Wings For L.I.F.E. anyway, and I think everyone needs to fill their lives with as much positivity as possible. I hope you enjoy the story or quote each day and please know that I’m thinking of you! Blessings, Ann

Eagles in a Storm

Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks? The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come. When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it. The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm.
When the storms of life come upon us - and all of us will experience them - we can rise above them by setting our minds and our belief toward God. The storms do not have to overcome us. We can allow God's power to lift us above them. God enables us to ride the winds of the storm that bring sickness, tragedy, failure, and disappointment in our lives. We can soar above the storm. Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down; it is how we handle them.

Touching video! During this time of uncertainty, let's remember to live out the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

Video conmovedor! Durante este tiempo de incertidumbre, recordemos vivir el fruto del Espíritu: amor, alegría, paz, paciencia, amabilidad, bondad, fidelidad, gentileza y dominio propio.

This brought tears to my eyes. A little kindness goes a long way doesn’t it? -j

🎥: Good News Movement A street vendor in Medellín, Colombia is surprised and overjoyed when a couple gives him $100 instead of $1 for the small coconut candy he is selling. They are doing so because they know the coronavirus has caused his (and other street vendors) sales to go down dramatically. They said they hope it comes in handy and he said it will because he doesn’t have food at home❤️ 🇨🇴.

Hi, this post is for our Sonrise Kids ages 5-10. Below is a link to this week's Konnect experience. Hope you check it out and stay connected!

Remember, this month we have been learning about how God gives us courage. This week the point is:
God gives me courage to never give up!

The Bible verse is: Galatians 6:9
"So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up."

[03/22/20]   Message in Spanish about our plans for Sunday service

Too good not to share! 😊

Something to remember as we face uncertainty. Do you agree?

Sharing in case someone needs this information.

Personas afectadas for el virus Covid-19 y necesitan ayuda con deudas, renta y comida, pueden llamar al numero de teléfono en este mensaje, dar wl número del código postal y les darán una lista de agencias que les pueden ayudar.

Who Are We?

Sonrise Church is a new bilingual, multi-cultural,multi-generational church.

We want to see the South Valley transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ! There are so many in our community living without the hope, peace, and joy that come from knowing the God of the Bible.

We are currently in the team-building stage in several areas of ministry and are looking for fellow believers wanting to partner with us and serve God in this life-changing work. We are praying for God to direct us to people eager and hungry to reach the lost in the South Valley. We can all make a difference! Is it possible that God is calling you here? _____________________________________________________
