What year did the school close. I went there in 5th grade 1969
Why arent the lector’s and Deacon wearing masks in church today? They usually take them off when they get to the podium.
So happy to hear the church bells again!
Getting ready to cheer the graduates!!
In light of the Coronavirus hitting New Mexico, is there a way that Holy Rosay can live stream Mass?
Is there any information for Ash Wednesday? I can't find anything on the website and the bulletins aren't up to date.
I am writing today about a wonderful volunteer opportunity we have. I am doing volunteer recruitment on behalf of BCBS for an upcoming community health and Resource event for low-income families. This event is free for the community, information from local organizations and free resources will be provided. We will be doing free medical screenings, flu shots, turkey giveaways and more!

December 14th in Albuquerque New Mexico at The Alamosa Community Center from 10am to 2pm.

We are in need of about 100 volunteers to help staff the different family friendly stations where
we will be providing a range of services including:

● Medical screenings and immunizations
● Health food giveaway and turkey giveaway
● Resource fair
● Kids zone

We need the volunteers to arrive one hour before the event begins for volunteer registration. We hope that volunteers can attend the duration of the event, yet we understand volunteers have different schedules and some won’t be able to serve the entire event.

We would love to have some bilingual volunteers as well, as we are expecting a very diverse
group to attend our exciting event. If your organization would like to support this event, please send us an email of how many volunteers your organization can pledge. Together we can make a difference for families in the greater Albuquerque area this holiday season.

Kindly,
Corie Lyons

If anyone would like to join me and maybe also get some doggie cuddles, your more than welcomed to message me so we can arrange a meet up.

The Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary
First Century
Feast Day—May 31

This feast commemorates the three-month visit of Mary with her elderly cousin Elizabeth during Mary’s pregnancy with Jesus and Elizabeth’s with John the Baptist. The story appears in the first chapter of Luke’s Gospel. It recounts Elizabeth’s Spirit-filled greeting, acknowledging Mary as “the mother of my Lord,” and Mary’s beautiful response, the Magnificat, which begins, “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord.” Introduced by the Franciscans in 1263, the feast became universal in the 16th century.

St. Augustine of Canterbury, Died c. 604
Feast Day—May 27

This monk was prior of a monastery in Rome until 596, when Pope St. Gregory the Great sent him and 30 other monks to evangelize England. They landed in Kent where they got permission to preach because the king’s wife had been a Christian before her marriage. Augustine’s preaching won over King Ethelbert, who became a Christian and gave the monks a house and church in Canterbury. Augustine built England’s first cathedral there; from this see missionaries and bishops were sent around England. He is known as “the apostle of England.”

St. Philip Neri, 1515–1595
Feast Day—May 26

Philip’s Florentine family intended him for a merchant’s life but he preferred serving God, and in 1533 went to Rome for philosophy and theology studies. He lived as a layman for 17 years, founding a lay brotherhood for common worship and caring for the sick and pilgrims. He experienced an ecstasy in the catacombs, and was later ordained. With priest friends he founded the Congregation of the Oratory in 1575. Something of a celebrity to all Romans, rich and poor, Philip was known as “the apostle of Rome.”

St. Bede the Venerable, 673-735
Feast Day – May 25

Born in Northumbria, in northern England, Bede was schooled at the Benedictine monasteries of Wearmouth and Jarrow, where he spent the rest of his life as a monk and priest. “Study, teaching and writing have always been my delight,” he wrote. He penned extensive biblical and theological writings, but his fame came as a historian. His most valuable work was “Ecclesiastical History of the English People.” In 836, a church council at Aachen, Germany, called him the Venerable Bede and Pope Leo XIII declared him a doctor of the church in 1899.

Our faith community, along with so many, mourns the tragic and sudden death of our former pastor, Rev. Graham R. Golden, O.Praem. Fr. Graham was a shepherd who truly "smelled like his sheep." In his brief 35 years Fr. Graham accomplished more than many could in two lifetimes. We miss his smile and endless energy, his joy and presence. A flame of the Spirit snuffed out too soon. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
We pray for his parents, for the Norbertine Community of Santa María de la Vid Abbey, and for all who knew and loved him. We also pray for the recovery and health of Br. Lorenzo Romero-Ramos, O.Praem.
