"Many white [Christians], like our white compatriots more generally, are seeking to better understand what it’s like to be black in America—to learn how we can better have “the same mindset as Christ Jesus” “not looking to [our] own interests, but to the interests of others,” our black brothers and sisters (Phil. 2:4-5). Commemorating Juneteenth [today] is a good place to begin." -- Christianity Today

As we mark the death of 100,000 people in the U.S. from COVID-19, as we wrestle with questions of race, brutality, and long simmering inequalities, we join in millions of people of faith in this prayer:
A Prayer for the Power of the Spirit among the People of God
God of all power and love, we give thanks for your unfailing presence and the hope you provide in times of uncertainty and loss.
Send your Holy Spirit to enkindle in us your holy fire.
Revive us to live as Christ’s body in the world:
a people who pray, worship, learn, break bread, share life, heal neighbors,
bear good news, seek justice, rest and grow in the Spirit.
Wherever and however we gather,
unite us in common prayer and send us in common mission,
that we and the whole creation might be restored and renewed,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Happy Season of Pentecost! God not only understands all tongues and voices, God SPEAKS through all tongues, voices, cultures and languages. Come let us listen with humility and hope.
God speaks grace to all in their native toungue! We celebrate the diversity and richness of all peoples and lands. Come Holy Spirit!!
"...the LORD roars from Zion and thunders from Jerusalem." (Amos 1:2) O God, we thank for your Spirit-given roaring rage at the world as it is. In the light of the George Floyd killing, we pray especially for mothers and fathers of black and brown and colorful children growing up in fear. We ask you to keep our eyes and ears open for what we, as your church can do to be part of God's change, with God’s Grace for all. Come Holy Spirit, Come.
