Koala-ty Kids

Matthew 19:14 (Holman Christian Standard Bible) 14 Then Jesus said, "Leave the children alone, and don't try to keep them from coming to Me, because the kingdom of heaven is made up of people like this."

This Mother's Day Out program provides fun, safety, and God's love all rolled up into workers who love infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Mission: To reach out to parents who need a few hours each week to shop, go to appointments or refresh their outlook.

4 Fun Activities to Try with Your Kids - YouVersion

Hoping you are all well. Blessings to you and yours.

blog.youversion.com Getting children excited about prayer can be challenging. Images of people praying typically show someone standing calmly with their head bowed and eyes closed. That’s hard for many people, let alone a kid who’s now stuck at home all day. But prayer is simply talking with the God who says, “l...

Here's a Bible lesson you can share with your children.
Thank you Krista Peterson

Several of our churches have great children’s ministry leaders that are doing online lessons for kids. If the kids in your church would benefit from a lesson, here’s one you can use.

[03/15/20]   Dear families!
I hope you are all doing well through all that has made the news this week.
Since the public schools are closed for the next three weeks, we will not have koala-ty kids either. While our church will not be completely closing it's doors, we are being cautious.
Please take care and I will update you as needed.

“Our children are children
for such a small season of life.
Let their laughter ring out,
their imaginations soar,
their feet stomp in puddles,
their hands clap for joy.
Soon they will grow up
and out of their youthful
exuberance and zest
and settle into the
life and routine
of adulthood.
Don’t make them
settle too soon.”

[12/16/19]   Just a reminder... This Friday is our final day before Christmas and each classroom is having a little potluck lunch in the room. If you didn't get a chance to sign up and you want to bring something, that's perfectly fine. If you don't get the time to bring anything, don't worry about it. There will be plenty. Love you all!

[11/25/19]   Just taking this time to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. May you have safe travels, good food and blessings upon blessings during this week off and the days after. See all of you next week!

playvolutionhq.com Children at all ages tend to approach new physical challenges slowly. For example, when confronted by a new climbing structure, children will climb partway and come down. They will repeat this, going a little farther each time until they get to the top. Not only are children capable of assessing ris...

[10/26/19]   Hello, Koala-ty Families! We are having a pajama party Friday, Nov. 1st in lieu of a Halloween Party. Please have the children come in pajamas for the day. We will have small parties in each of the classrooms, so please send a small treat to share with your children if you can.

Also, most of your children probably shared our fire drill experience. We were having electrical and lighting worked on in the sanctuary and the workers kept crossing the smoke alarm beam. We took advantage of the first alarm and taught the children how to evacuate in case of fire. They all remained very calm and followed their teachers instructions. I am so proud of all of them.

Hope to see all of our families next week!

Wilder Child

[10/05/19]   October 12, we are observing fall break with APS. No koala-ty kids. Have fun with the family and maybe hunt down some balloons!

Neurochild Community

It’s only #natural for kids to release their emotional, mental and physical energy as soon as they get home from school. After all, they had to show a lot of self-control during the school day.

’After-school restraint collapse’ is extremely common in kids under 12, says Psychotherapist Nancy Brooks, and it lessens as children develop more emotional resilience. Until then, the symptoms of after-school restraint collapse are likely familiar to parents of young children: “When they come home from school they will regress emotionally," says Brooks. “They will act younger than their age and whine, cry, throw tantrums, act needy, moody and generally have a meltdown. They will look and behave as if they are exhausted.” Because self-control is exhausting.

Here are some tips on handling ‘after-school restraint collapse’:

🍄 Give children time to get a snack and relax their minds.
🍄 Offer your child a physical activity directly after school, such as sports, yoga or walking, to act as a release that helps to balance the mind and body.
🍄 Homework can also wait and will probably be done better as a result of a #brain break.
🍄 Stay aware of how ourselves as parents act when we get home, as kids are likely to model our behaviour.
🍄 Use your car ride home to decompress from the day, to allow yourself (or your family) to be 'fresh' when you walk through the door.

As the school year goes on, you can expect after-school restraint collapse to ease up a bit—both because of a child’s increasing maturity and their adjustment to the new schedule. Be patient. It gets better!

[07/29/19]   Hello to all of you! I do hope you are enjoying your summer!

Our fall session of Koala-ty Kids will resume August 30, 2019. If you have already registered for this fall, thank you so much. If you have not gotten around to it yet, please do so as soon as possible so I can set up my classrooms.

We are going to have a baby room (6-12 mo), early toddler (12-24 mo), older toddler (2-3y.o.), three year old (3-4), and Pre-K (4-5 y.o.) classrooms this year. We are adding some new teachers as we said good-bye to some of our others. The staff is really looking forward to the new year after having a refreshing summer break.

Our fees remain the same and we just ask that you pay them on the day of service. If you choose to pay in advance, that is ok too. Our registration fee is $30/family. Our daily fee is $10/child. You may pay the registration on the first day your child attends.

If you have registered, and have decided not to use our program, please let me know so I can open the space for another child.

Make sure you let me know if you are going to be gone for any length of time, so we can plan the activities accordingly.

Label everything as to avoid confusion. Many children end up with the same lunchbox, water bottle, etc. If the wrong child's item goes home with you accidentally, please let me know and then bring it back the next time.

Dress for the weather and apply sunscreen prior to the day if necessary. We try to spend a significant time outside, weather permitting.

Is your child potty training? We will work with them on that. Please send changes of clothing along, because accidents do happen. We also ask that you supply your own diapers and wipes.

We supply snacks, but please send a sack lunch with your child, as well as a water bottle or sippy cup.

If you have any other questions, or any concerns, please contact me. I want our program to be a great experience for you and your child.

Thank you for sharing your children with us.

In Christ,
