Today we celebrate the Feast Day of Saint Mary Magdalene.

Mary Magdalene is a reminder to me that when culture and society said no to women, Jesus said yes.

Jesus consistently invited women to the table and entrusted critical parts of His mission into their hands.

If society followed the example of Jesus, in how he treated and trusted and believed in women, the world would change in radically beautiful ways.

Women of the church, I love you, I see you, and I am glad you are here.

Litany to St. Mary Magdalene St. Mary Magdalene stood by Our Lord at the foot of the Cross, alongside St. John and the Blessed Mother, and the next morning went to Christ's tomb to anoint his body. As a reward for her great love and faithfulness, she is the first recorded witness of Jesus' Resurrection. It was Mary Magdalene wh...

Mary, from Magdala in Galilee, was a disciple of Jesus who used her resources to help support him and his followers. The Gospel of Luke identifies Mary as the woman from whom Jesus cast out seven demons. The Gospels record that she was present at his crucifixion and burial. In all four Gospels, Mary was the first witness to the Resurrection and carried that news to the others in the Upper Room. Because of this, St. Augustine called her “apostola apostolorum,” the apostle to the apostles.

O God, who desired the Virgin St. Kateri Tekakwitha to flower among Native Americans in a life of innocence, grant, through her intercession, that when all are gathered into your Church from every nation, tribe and tongue, they may magnify you in a single canticle of praise. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

"Consider often that it is only the humble heart that can enter into the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, converse with him, love him and be loved by him." // St. Margaret Mary Alacoque.

June has two of the most beautiful feast days. Tomorrow is the Solemnity of Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, and the day after is the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

God loves a humble heart. So, too, does Mary.

May our hearts be conformed to theirs.
