Bringing teens closer to Christ! St. Therese Parish Life Teen group

Mission: St. Therese is currently a Life Teen Parish, and as such, our mission is to bring teens closer to Christ through vibrant Eucharistic celebrations and by offering opportunities for teens to grow in their faith. We meet most Sundays during the school year immediately following the 12 noon mass. Lunch is served and then we get down to business! All high school age teens are welcome and there is no cost to attend, so feel free to just show up or request more information by sending us an email. [email protected]

[02/25/13]   Yesterday at Life Teen we began our semester on Sacred Scripture with a discussion on Divine Revelation. God wants us to know Him, so he has revealed Himself ina number of ways. The fullest expression of God's revelation is in Jesus Christ, His Son. We discussed how God's revelation is given to us in both Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition. This provided a foundation for the topics we will be discussing this coming semester.

Our topic of Sacred Scripture will provide many opportunities for your family to grow in faith together We want to encourage you to choose one or two ways that your family can begin using the Bible to pray and grow over the coming months.

[02/16/13]   Also, bake sale all day tomorrow at 8, 10 and 12:00 services. Support Life Teeners going to camp this summer.

[11/05/12]   This Sunday our goal is to understand and appreciate the freedom to worship God. We will also look at the places in the world where this freedom is threatened.

[11/05/12]   This past Sunday we explored the importance of friends. We strived to understand the need for solid, Christ-centered friendships and evaluated how good a friend they are to those they call friends.

[08/14/12]   Our first Life Teen "Life Night" is going to be Sunday, September 9th! We are all looking forward to a blessed, inspired semester!

[02/29/12]   This Sunday we'll be learning about the Eighth Commandment - "thou shall not bear false witness". More and more, media (ie; facebook, twitter) is becoming a bigger part of our everyday lives. This Life Night seeks to help us understand how media and the Eighth Commandment work together. We will be challenged to be people of integrity when using social media and to commit to using it in healthy moderation.

[02/28/12]   This past Sunday, we celebrated and discussed a gift we have been given by God: the gift of our sexuality. We have challenged each teen to treasure this God-given gift by living a life of purity and chastity in every relationship that they have. Teens from the Oneeight class performed a skit that showed the impact choices they make have on themselves and others.

Spend time praying for your teens, asking God to help them protect their purity and chastity in all relationships.

Video of the skit, will be posted tomorrow.

[11/19/11]   Tomorrow we will learn to recognize sacramentals and be able to distinguish between the seven sacraments and the many sacramentals. We will also expose teens to a variety of sacramentals so that they will be more aware of them and their deeper meaning when they see them.

[11/12/11]   Words, words, words..........
Teens, what/who inspires and influences you? Do you have a favorite author? artist? singer? musician? poet? Do you have a favorite speaker? Share with us!

[11/09/11]   Coming this Sunday......"Watch your Mouth!" We'll attempt to understand how our words are powerful and that we all need to watch what we say to one another. We will also look at how our speech can affect other people in both a postive and negative way. Also, we'll address how our speech can shape our Christian identity.

At Your Service Nov. 6

[11/09/11]   This past Sunday we learned about the Sacraments at the Service of Communion - Holy Orders and Marriage. Our guest speakers were married couples that have been married between 5 months and 30 years. Sarah and Daniel have been married 5 months; Susan and Tim have been married 15 years; Anthony and Corrine have been married 24 years and Deacon Mike and his wife Cathy have been married 30 years and he has been a Deacon for 8 years. All the couples shared their experiences and how God has been a part of their marriages throughout. Thank you everyone for sharing your insights. Also, thank you for being positive and inspiring role models to the teens in our parish.
