Please pray for my friend Carleens daughter Kaylee. She's in the hospital with seizures and she's not responding and her eyes aren't tracking. The girl is in bad shape. Please help send many prayers on their behalf.! Thanks.!!!
My friend Ginny says thanks for the prayers for Wyatt.
So blessed to have friends from this wonderful church. Specially Dianne Goode and Ray Morgan. Always there for me when I need. Finally found a smaller, cheaper apt in ABQ. Looking to move middle to end of Sept. Less rent, I'll be getting a small car that works and "I'll be back"! Love you all so much! ❤️❤️

"You are a new creation!" That's the promise that comes to us in 2nd Corinthians 5:16-21. AND, that's the passage Pastor Mark will be focused on this Sunday, May 3, at WMCC.

Join your church family right here, via Facebook Live, as we listen for a word that can bring order and hope in a crazy time. We'll start live-streaming around 9:50 am, with worship beginning at 10:00 am.

In our worship last Sunday, the prophet Isaiah told us that God was about to do a radically new thing to revive and restore the people of Israel. This Sunday, April 26, we turn to the very end of our Bibles where we receive another promise of a new beginning as John paints a glorious vision of the new heaven, the new earth, and the new Jerusalem which will be the eternal dwelling place of the faithful. Join us online at 10:00 am as Pastor Mark brings us the message "A Brand New Day" from Revelation 21:1-6a.

Join us this Sunday, April 19, at 10:00 am, for a second helping of Easter joy! The Facebook Livestream of our worship service will feature our Pastor Mark Denton bringing us a message of hope from Isaiah 43:16-19. In this passage, the prophet announces that God is about to do something radically new and completely unexpected!

Storehouse Donations Total 295 lbs!

Wow! Our April food donations for the Storehouse West topped out at 295 pounds. This brings our total for the 2020 to an astounding 1,347 pounds!

With 20.6 million Americans thrust into unemployment in the last four weeks, the need for community food pantries is greater than ever. Thanks for your generous support, WMCC!

Christ is risen! He is risen, indeed! That's the good news of Easter, whether social distancing is in effect or not!

WOO-HOO! We celebrate the members of our church family who hit the case lot sale at Smith’s so hard that we had nearly 200 pounds of groceries (see photo) in our carts BEFORE the church doors even opened on Sunday! In total, we contributed a whopping 442 pounds of food for the Storehouse West -- that was our largest Storehouse offering of 2019! Way to go, WMCC!

Our pastor writes: "The great temptation in our scripture (Jesus & the demon-possessed man in Luke 8:26-37) for Sunday, Sept 8 is to keep the Word at arm’s length by saying: 'this reflects an ancient worldview – we’ve got medical science to help us now.'" Join us for worship at 10:00 am as Pastor Mark helps us see that in Jesus we have a savior who CAN change any life!

In Luke 8:22-25, a terrible storm blows in while Jesus and his disciples are crossing the sea of Galilee. When the disciples panic, Jesus asks them: "Where is Your Faith?" That's the very question that Pastor Mark will be tacking in our sermon for this Sunday, Sept 1. Our service begins at 10:00 am. We'd be just flat thrilled if you joined us for worship!

How would you finish this sentence: "Family is ..."? Maybe you would say, "the most important thing in the world." Or maybe, "my greatest joy." Or maybe, "a giant pain in the @$$." But what did Jesus have to say about our families? Join us for worship this Sunday, Aug 25, at 10:00 am, as Pastor Mark brings us the message: "Family Is..."

In Luke 8:4-15, we find the record of the first major parable that Jesus tells ... and it totally baffles his disciples. They are so confused that they couldn’t even imagine why Jesus would tell a story like this. Find out what this parable says, and what it says to us today, this Sunday, Aug 18, at 10:00 am. A nursery is provided. We would be just flat thrilled for you to join us!

Many of us have great memories of learning songs in Sunday School or Vacation Bible School -- songs that we've carried with us all of our lives! This Sunday, Aug 18, we'll be singing a bunch of those old favorites! Join us at 10:00 am for "Jesus Loves Me" "The B-I-B-L-E" "I've Got the Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy..." and many more! (Kool-Aid and graham crackers optional.)

Sermon for Aug 11, 2019 ✝ “Interesting” -- Luke 8:1-3

Last Sunday's sermon drew more comments, and has had more views online, than any in recent memory. You can check it out for yourself here: https://youtu.be/0v7Yne3nr1A

Sermon for Aug 11, 2019 ✝ “Interesting” -- Luke 8:1-3 West Mesa Christian Church of Albuquerque, NM Rev. Mark Denton, preaching

Did you know that Jesus and his disciples traveled with women, and that these women supported them and their mission? Find out a whole lot more about that in Pastor Mark's sermon for Sunday, Aug 11: "Interesting" from Luke 8:1-3.

Worship starts at 10:00 am. A nursery is provided. Rumor has it that chocolate cake is on the menu for the complimentary coffee hour that follows the service. Won't you join us!?!

Sunday, August 4, is a Storehouse West Sunday for our congregation. Bring your non-perishable food items to share with the SHW, AND join us to hear a really interesting message, "A Tale of Two Hosts" from Luke 7:36-50. Our service begins at 10:00 am. A nursery is provided.

All through Luke 7, Jesus has been doing amazing, miraculous things. We're startled, then, when the disciples of John the Baptist come to ask if Jesus is THE ONE, or if they should look for another. The word "imposter" seems to hang over their query. But instead of being threatened, or offended, Jesus welcomes their question -- but he also doesn't give them a pat answer. Instead, he tells them to think for themselves about where and how they see God's work being done. Our pastor is taking on this troubling passage in his sermon for Sunday, July 28: "What's It Gonna Take?" from Luke 7:18-23. Worship starts at 10:00 am.

Our culture - and often the church - is deeply divided, and the rifts seem to be growing. What does our faith have to say to this?

You're invited to join Disciples of Christ friends from all over the Southwest Region on Saturday, September 14th at Monte Vista Christian Church as together we engage the topic of Unity.

Our keynote speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Newell Williams, renowned Stone-Campbell scholar and president of Brite Divinity School. Dr. Williams will be helping us think about our historic Disciples commitment to unity, the difficulties inherent in appeals to togetherness, and what the Disciples of Christ have to offer a fractured world.

We would be just flat thrilled if you joined us for worship this Sunday, June 23, for the message "The Perils of Particle Extraction" from Luke 6:37-42. Our service begins at 10:00 am. A nursery is provided. A complimentary coffee fellowship follows the service.

Our pastor has spent this past week at camp with our middle school and high school youth, where the theme for the week was "Living Water." "Living Water" (Exodus 17:1-7 and John 7:37-38) will also be the subject of Pastor Mark's sermon for this Sunday, June 16. Join us for worship, beginning at 10:00 am. You will be blessed by the Lord of Living Waters!

Pentecost is the birthday of the church -- it's the anniversary of the day when the gift of God's Holy Spirit transformed the aimless disciples into bold leaders of the Church. Join us for worship on Pentecost Sunday, June 9, as we celebrate the baptism of a new Christian and as our pastor brings us the message: "Babel or Babble?" from Genesis 11:1-7 and Acts 2:1-18.

Most Christians are familiar with the Beatitudes -- those statements of divine blessing which launch our Lord's "Sermon on the Mount." Far fewer believers are aware that there is a similar, but much more demanding, list at the beginning of a teaching gives in Luke 6. Join us this Sunday, May 26, at 10:00 am, as Pastor Mark will be preaching, "Woe to You" from Luke 6:17-26.

On Sunday, May 19. Pastor Mark returns to his series of sermons from the Gospel of Luke. He'll be picking up with Luke 6:1-11 as he brings us "Lord of the Sabbath, too."
Worship begins at 10:00 am. Immediately following the service, we'll have a congregational meeting which will lead straight into a delicious brisket lunch. Please join us!

The New Testament makes a strong connection between the amazing good news of Jesus' resurrection and a radically changed lifestyle on the part of believers. Our pastor will be exploring that connection this Sunday, April 28, in a sermon: “With Glad and Generous Hearts” from Acts 2:22-24, 42-47. Worship starts at 10:00 am. We would be just flat thrilled for you to join us!

This Sunday is EASTER SUNDAY! Join us for a joyous worship service at 10:00 am on April 21. The music will be glorious, and the news turns the world upside down: "He is not here, He is Risen!"

This Sunday, April 7, Pastor Mark is preparing "Coloring Outside the Wines" (Luke 5:27-38) for the message. Our service begins at 9:00 am. A nursery is provided. Holy cow! This past Sunday, our church family fed 295 of our homeless and near-homeless neighbors at St. Martin's/Hopeworks! Thanks to everyone who made food, and donated food. Thanks especially to our early morning who served the meal. We are so blessed to have this opportunity to serve in Jesus' name!

On Sunday, March 31, our pastor will be continuing her sermon series from the Gospel of Luke with "Through the Roof" from Luke 5:17-26. Our worship service begins at 10:00 am. A nursery and children's worship is provided. You're sure to find a warm welcome among us!

What is that you need to hear Jesus say to you? That's the question that our pastor, Mark Denton, will be addressing on Sunday, March 24. In his first sermon back from vacation, Pastor Mark will be teaching from Luke 5:12-16, the story of Jesus healing a man with leprosy. Worship begins at 10:00 am. We'd love for you to join us!

We're proud to say that our candidate for ordination, Brad Bock, will be our guest preacher on Sunday, March 17. Brad's sermon will be "I Am Still Confident" from Psalm 27:1-14. Following the service, our Men's Group is hosting a cookout!. Lunch is free, and all donations will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.
