“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:36-40

On this Inauguration Day; we invite you to join us in prayer for all of our elected officials:

“Heavenly Father, Proverbs 8 declares that we should seek your wisdom in all things, that it is more precious than fine jewels and silver and gold. Today we lift up all our elected officials and civic leaders to you and ask that you would bless them with wisdom, a discerning heart, and compassion for all whom they represent. Guide them in their decisions and fill them with wisdom, knowledge and understanding in all they do – in Jesus name we pray.”

In response to yesterday's horrific events in Washington, D.C., the National Commander of The Salvation Army, Commissioner Kenneth Hodder, speaks about the need for unity and our responsibility to continually build the democracy we aspire for in the United States of America.

"Let us be what Christ has called us to be. Let us manifest the love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control that we have through the power of the holy spirit"

Amen.
