Jesus teaches us in stories. A farmer said he would pay a worker $100 for a day's work and he hired some workers at 7 AM. When at noon he realized he needed more workers, he hired more. At 5 PM, he saw that even more workers were needed to finish so he hired even more workers. All received $100 at the end of the day. What does this teach us? Christ has paid the price for salvation for all of us equally.

Lighting and putting out the candles helps Christians worship God so Pastor Mark teaches JAM students how to do one of the jobs of an acolyte.

Ascension JAM students and congregation members are almost ready to deliver Valentine boxes for our dear seniors next week. Be sure and come by the church before 10 AM Sunday, February 9th, to deliver your Valentines, treats and pick up a box or two or three to deliver to your favorite Ascension seniors!!

JAM made valentines for our seniors, played Valentine Bingo, table shuffleboard, throw and catch a ball, etc. Two guests, 10 students, and 4 absentees tonight. Thanks to Denise Sandager, Georgia Kalis, Diane and Lowell Doppelhammer, and Michelle Cardona for helping tonight.

Hello, I haven't seen you since last year, Pastor Boorsma said. The Ten Commandments tell us what God want us to do. Moses received two tablets on a mountain. The first three commandments are how we are to relate to God. The first is about putting God first in your life. This is not an easy assignment. The second one is about not taking the name of God in vain. God gets annoyed if he hears His name called often and then silence on your part. The third one says to remember the Sabbath day. The fourth through 10th tell us how to treat our neighbors. The 4th tells us to honor our parents, our closest neighbor. We sang Pour Out Your Spirit Lord. The students were thanked for participating in the December 15th Youth Service.

Christmas party began with food, Christmas story, gift selections for family, cookie decorating, and ornament making. Thanks to Diane and Lowell Doppellhammer, Michelle Cardona, Georgia Kalis, Marilyn Danielsen, Pastor Mark Boorsma and Mark Anderson for serving, cleaning, teaching, organizing and planning a fun night for our Jesus and Me (JAM) students! It takes a village. . .

Moses leads his people out of slavery. God helped by sending many plagues so the Pharoah who wanted to keep the Israelites aa slaves would let the go. The parting if the Red Sea happened when the Pharoah changed his mind again deciding to keep them as slaves. God led Moses to open up the Sea and they were able to get across, saved from the army of the pharoah.

Blessing the bookbags tonight after making pizza and bars. Students blessed their pizza and bars and other people and things with a popcorn prayer.

JAM learned about Joseph's dreams that could help the pharoah plan for future droughts. They made up bookbags for Lutheran World Relief.

What is comforting about a rod and staff? Well it is wooden, not soft and it could be used as a weapon. But it guides lambs and hooks them when they go someplace they are not supposed to go. Do you ever feel like you have been hooked by God to let you know you should be careful?
