With the help of the Holy Spirit, we seek to be the Body of Christ. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we seek to be the Body of Christ: by proclaiming His Word in prayer and worship, by celebrating the Eucharist around the table of the Lord, by educating others and ourselves in the faith that works to ensure justice for all, and by reaching out with love and care for everyone, neighbor or stranger, recognizing our responsibility to the common good of our whole society and our entire world.

The Diocese of Las Cruces has once again been hearing reports of people receiving text messages and emails
from persons impersonating clergy.
The scam is known to begin with a call, email, or text attempting to deceive someone that it is coming
from a priest or Bishop. It uses the name of the priest, although the email used is not the address of the priest. This
is followed by a request of some currency (gift cards, iTunes cards, Visa cards) to aid in some kind of
emergency (sick, traveling and lost a passport, or some other crisis).
The scam aims to appeal to your kindness and concern for the priest by creating an urgency that he re-
quires financial support due to an emergency. We encourage you to look at emails carefully as, in most
instances, the scammer has created a similar email address to the priest but with subtle differences. Oth-
er e-mails ask you to click on a link to receive a secure message from someone, maybe even someone
you know. DO NOT click on any link unless you are certain the sender is known and you are expected
the link. Better to send a separate e-mail to the person inquiring if they are trying to contact you. Scam-
mers have become very proficient at fooling folks, even designing their message to look like professional,
real requests, with logo and design of valid web sites and organizations. Please use much caution!
In New Mexico, scams can be reported to the office of Attorney General Hector Balderas by filling out a
form at https://www.nmag.gov/file-a-complaint.aspx or calling the hotline at 1-844-255-9210

NOW LOOK AT IT!!!
huffpost.com The famed Brazilian monument was illuminated on Easter Sunday to honor the health care workers combatting the coronavirus pandemic.
Now that we have finished Lent and celebrated Easter Sunday (ALLELUIA!) and especially now that it is Easter Monday and we are still here in front of our computer screens and that sure seems like a letdown, it is a good time to remember that every single day of the year, we as Catholics celebrate/commemorate somebody/something in our church. We are never boring!
For example, the saint we celebrate today(April 13) is Pope Saint Martin I (the First). If you have ever heard of "Martin the Confessor", this is the same guy. He was Pope in the 600s. He is considered to be the last Pope to die as a martyr, as he died in terrible prison conditions after being put in jail for condemning the Roman heresy that Jesus Christ had no human will, only divine will. He did not put up with the incorrect teaching and would not keep quiet about it, even though this reeeeally annoyed the Roman emperor, to the point that he ordered Pope Martin to be captured and put into prison (in bad conditions). After a few months, he was then exiled to the Crimea (even worse conditions), where he died a few months later.
A good lesson that we can learn and emulate from the life of Pope Saint Martin I is that we should also refuse to condone silence in the face of wrong. Even though it is not always easy to say something, it is important and something we should always try to do.
Pope Saint Martin I, pray for us!
Q: So what do we do now that Easter is over?
A: Celebrate, because Easter is not over!
catholicexchange.com Easter Sunday is not the end of our Easter celebration. A happy and blessed Monday morning to everybody! I don't know about you, but this organ lady is missing seeing her church family and her church friends and singing her head off at church! Wow, what a truly unforeseen turn of events. I drove by St. Jude's yesterday morning and sat in the empty parking lot for a while and I also walked over to the Columbarium and spent a few minutes. While I was there, I noticed that the cactuses were starting to bloom and look pretty, so I took a picture of that to share with everybody.
I also had a chance to talk to Fr. Tom on the phone yesterday and he is doing fine, staying in, and has all of us in his prayers. Please leave a message below to say HELLO and let me know how YOU are doing, good or bad, and if you need anything or help with anything, maybe we can figure out how to help make sure we can all get through the next few weeks "together".
