VERSES OF THE DAY: Matthew 25:11-13
“Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’ “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’ “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour."
VERSES OF THE DAY: Matthew 24:36-39, 42, 44
“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."

[08/28/20] Thunder, lightning, & rain. Thank you God!!!
If you believe that we are currently living in the time of the return of Christ (The Last Days) then you must also believe that things in our world today ARE NOT going to get better, but worse according to Jesus' own words:
Matthew 24: 7-13
7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
Today we would say that they are lying, cheating and destroying property, but the idea is still the same.
Paul tells us this:
2 Timothy 3 NIV
1 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
It is pretty clear that we are in these last days just before the return of Christ, if we are not at the time of Noah, we are very close. I believe we are currently living in the Book of Revelation. And the return of Christ is very close.
1 Corinthians 15:50-53
50 I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.
Are you ready? Ask God to forgive you of your sins and invite Jesus in, before its too late.
Evildoers are snared by their own sin, but the righteous shout for joy and are glad.
VERSES OF THE DAY: Proverbs 28:13-14
Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy. Blessed is the one who always trembles before God, but whoever hardens their heart falls into trouble.
VERSES OF THE DAY: Matthew 14:27, 31
But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.” Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and *said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”
VERSE OF THE DAY: Matthew 12:37
"For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”
~~Be careful what you say!~~
Timely VERSE OF THE DAY: Proverbs 28:4
Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law strive with them.

VERSES OF THE DAY: I have no strength of my own--
But you, Lord, do not be far from me. YOU are my strength; come quickly to help me.
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.
The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.
The LORD is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him.
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
VERSE OF THE DAY: Proverbs 25:25
Like cold water to a weary soul is good news from a distant land.
[08/07/20] Faith is believing that God will do what is right for us, not necessarily what we want.
VERSE OF THE DAY: Matthew 16:18
I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.
History of Olive Bethel Church of God, 1892--2012
Celebrating 120 Years of Serving Jesus Christ
One day in October 1881, a man named Daniel S. Warner stood up in a small church in Beaver Dam. He proposed that all Christians should worship together as one body of believers and all blood washed saints should cast off and remove themselves from the many sects and denominations which so badly strangle and hinder the growth of God's Kingdom. Instead, there should be only one "church", the "Church of God", as named in God's Holy Word, the Bible. He was sure that God's Word made it plain that there is only one body, one Spirit, and only one Church. Five others stood up with Daniel Warner; Mr. & Mrs. William Ballenger, David Leininger, and Mr. & Mrs. Frank Krause.
In a short while these few were holding services in their homes and in local school houses. Some time later they built a brick church building just west of Beaver Dam. This was the first church building that housed the first congregation of the Church of God Movement. It's members believed in holy living, the unity of believers, divine healing, and growing God's Kingdom. That brick building is gone now, but a stone memorial marks its old location at the corner of CR1000S and CR1000W.
Olive Bethel is the second church constructed, and today is the oldest church in the Church of God Movement. William & Delilah Ballenger donated 1/2 acre of land off the corner of their farm and a frame house was constructed. The members had the entire church paid in full before they ever held their first service. The first meeting took place on December 14, 1892. The meetings lasted 6 weeks, services taking place both day and night, with worshipers filling the new House of God. Speakers were David Leininger and W.B. Grover.
