Overlooking forested land and the sparkling blue St. Croix River, its post card view takes in the beauty of God's creation. Memorial is more than its postcard beauty. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with your free Spirit.

Remember our online services are also broadcast to these local cable channels: River Channel 15 (Hudson): Wednesdays @ 10pm & Thursdays @ 10am Valley Access…

The daily discipline has slipped over the weekend, but we're back with another mini-devotional connecting a verse from today's assigned psalm with a picture from Pastor's daily walks as her spiritual discipline this season.

Today is World Cancer Day. The ELCA journeys with all who have been touched by the fear and grief that cancer brings in its wake, and we ask for God's healing, wholeness and rest.

Worship with Memorial today! Find our worship on our Youtube channel or our online worship page:

"The only way forward is with God and our relationship and understanding of God always begins in repentance. From the place of “What am I missing God? What am I really screwing up here?”. Then we begin the work of the first church moment, we begin the work of saying, “Come and see”...and offer a message of the gospel of Jesus Christ that has nothing to do with gallows, insurrection, violence or hatred of the neighbor. We have to provide an alternative...our silence, our comfort, our ignoring the loud, sinful Christian message out there is far too costly.

Who else will share the gospel of grace and healing if not you, if not me?

Today we commemorate the birthday of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who wrote, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

This Sunday we'll sing "This Little Light of Mine" during online worship. This quote and that spiritual seem like just the right message for such a time as this. Shine on people of God!

Take a break from cable news and doom-scrolling and spend an hour with some church family reading God's Word! Notice how the discussion question for tomorrow speaks from the book of Joshua to our time and place!

Church members will find the zoom link in the ENEWS. If you are not on that mailing list, just email Pastor Elizabeth for the link: [email protected]

Saint Paul Area Synod, ELCA

So much can be revealed in a single day. The riotous assault on our nation’s Capitol yesterday brought to light the reality that democracy is a commitment to the common good and the rule of law that needs to be remade day after day. By day’s end our nation’s Representatives and Senators were back at work, reclaiming the integrity of our electoral process. Now let us all rise with renewed commitment to our calling as citizens and neighbors; a commitment to justice not tyranny; peace not violent assault. We all have work to do and by God’s grace we will keep building up the community, the state, and the nation in which we live.
- Bishop Patricia Lull

Still looking for direction for your new year's resolution? Be more like Jesus!

Happy New Year people of God! Remember, you are already deeply loved and valued by your Maker!

Yearly reminder: No one has ever become their ideal self. After all those resolutions and elimination diets and strivings. It’s always a moving target. Your ideal self doesn’t exist. YOU do. Your actual, lumpy, shimmering, inconsistent self is the one that is loved and needed and already worthy.
