Let’s pray together!

Have you ever wondered just how much God loves you? Even when you aren’t in love with Him. Even if you’re doing things you know you shouldn’t. Even when you haven’t done things that you know you should. Borrowing from a study on “In Ephesians 3:17-19, Paul said that Christ will dwell into their hearts as they put their trust in Him. God’s love is thorough, wide, long, high, and deep. It reaches every corner of our lives and the whole world. It is high as it rises to the heights of our celebration and great happiness. And his love is so deep that it reaches to the depths of discouragement, despair, and even death.” God’s love is enormous and immeasurable. Remember, when we put our trust in God, God’s love will carry us through whatever circumstance we are in.
Lord of Love, thank you for the love that you have for us, even though we don’t understand it, and especially when we don’t deserve it. Help us to accept the love you give and let it show in our lives. Thank you for the greatest gift of all, the gift of salvation through Jesus – the greatest expression of your love for us. “For God so loved the world…”
You show your mighty love for us in so many ways. Please forgive us for not always seeing or acknowledging these things. You give us help and encouragement through difficult times, comfort when we grieve or worry, healing when we are ill or broken, peace when we are experiencing unrest, and wisdom and guidance when we are straying or unsure of our path. You are like no other in our lives. A constant and consistent love.
Thank you for the loving act of healing our loved ones. You have been so faithful in responding to our pleas. We lift up l, A, T, M, V, I, D, J, C, J, D, D, C, S, H, J, M, E, T, S, G, S, G, M, D, B, J, E, C, N, D, G, D, L for continued healing. Please guide their medical staff and caretakers and bless them for their compassionate care.
Thank you for loving our friends and family who are struggling with some of life’s details, and those who struggle just to be present. We lift up D, C, A, H, J, A, C, T, R, D, A, T, S, P, J, K, H, N, M, J, K, R, J. Continue to love them, even though they might not feel worthy. You have given comfort and encouragement in their lives and we thank you and praise you for this.
You have never given up on us and we reflect back the words of your Apostle, Paul. We pray that we, being rooted and established in your love, may have the power to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses all knowledge. Fill us to the measure of all fullness of your love. All glory be to you, God, and in Christ Jesus. Amen.

[04/29/21]   Our church is seeking help with the flooring in our parsonage. Does anyone have any recommendations for local sources and installers for carpet and linoleum?

He never lets go! Let's pray together.

Matt Redman wrote a song called “He Never Lets Go” and I was thinking about the lyrics these past few days. The sentiment about God not letting go of us made me think of Psalm 91:14. The verse tells us that God holds fast to me in love…because He knows my name. Is there any greater assurance than that? Through the calm and through the storm, God is always with us. Not just present, but holding fast in love. He holds ME in love because he knows MY name. That is huge! The God of this universe, of everything I can see or conceive of, and even more that I cannot see or conceive of, holds fast to me in love. Say those words to yourself, emphasizing the ME and MY. “He holds ME in love because he knows MY name.” That is amazing love!
Lord of all creation, you amaze us with your overwhelming love for us. How blessed we are and how precious is your name! We praise you for all that you have created and all you have done. We thank you for all that we have and all that we know. How wonderful it is to know you are with us, holding fast to us in love – when we are in calm places, and especially when we are in the storms of our lives. You have been so faithful and we thank you.
Our lives are still so topsy turvy and we need your comfort and strength to overcome the hurdles and keep at peace through the process of change. Thank you for help through these challenging times. We ask that you continue to provide encouragement and guidance to D, C, A, H, J, A, C, T, R, D, A, T, S, P, J, K, H, N, M, K, R. We pray that their brokenness will be healed and that they can navigate life with less difficulty and pain.
Thank you for the memories of those who have gone before us and give comfort when we grieve. We ask for comfort for the family and friends of Mrs. V on her passing. Thank you also for beautiful relationships, loving friendships and family. Thank you for healing and recovery that has happened this week. We are blessed by the wisdom and compassion of our healthcare workers and caregivers. Please continue your healing work on L, A, T, M, C, J, D, D, C, I, V, D, J, S, H, J, M, E, T, S, G, S, G, C, M, D, B, J, E, C, N, D, G.
Your love for us is unwarranted and amazing. You know us, by name, and yet you still love and bless us. Thank you for your faithfulness and tremendous love for us. Help us to know how to return that love to you and to share your love with others. We pray this in the name of Jesus, our Redeemer. Amen.

Let’s pray together.

It is very easy to be discouraged when life is overwhelming. When we experience tragedy or see others suffer, we wonder how this could happen if God is so good. Romans 8:28 gives encouragement and hope, the hope that we have in Jesus. Jesus came so that we might be free. Free from sin, not free from suffering. Unfortunately, since the fall of mankind, suffering is a way of life. We need to remember that this life here on earth is a tiny thing compared to eternity with God, our Father in heaven. We are often very short sighted in our thinking because what we know is what we have in front of us, here, on earth. But it is nothing compared to what awaits us. Sure, we have pain, and it is real, but it is not forever. And we have a wonderful advocate and encourager when we are in the midst of bad times. God is faithful to us. He stands behind, walks beside and goes ahead of us. We are surrounded by His love.
God, we thank you and praise you for your faithfulness to us. Even when our faith waivers, you still watch over us and care for us. Help us to remember the victory we have for the life to come, the victory that came at the price of Jesus’ death on the cross.
Thank you for the strength and encouragement when we have a hard time putting one foot in front of the other, or getting out of bed in the morning, or answering the phone. Life can feel so hard, but You have made it easier, when we remember that You are with us always. Thank you for the help for our loved ones who are experiencing difficulty in their lives. We lift up D, C, A, H, J, A, C, T, R, D, A, T, S, P, J, K, H, N, M, J, K for your loving guidance as they navigate troubled waters.
Thank you for the hope in healing, for the helpers and caregivers who so compassionately and lovingly reflect your heart in their work with others. Thank you for the healing and progress we have seen again this week. We ask you to continue your healing help for L, T, M, C, J, D, D, C, I, V, D, J, S, H, J, M, E, T, S, G, S, G, C, M, D, B, J, E, C, D, N, G.
Help us all to be patient and loving through the difficult times. And help us to see how our suffering might help others, that the experience we have might encourage or be useful to someone in need. We thank you for your wisdom, and especially for our Savior, Jesus, in whose name we pray. Amen.

Let us pray

“Be still and know that I am God” These words have brought peace and comfort to many throughout the ages. Our lives get so busy, and sometimes so chaotic and noisy, that we forget to just be in the presence of the Almighty. How wonderful it is to live in this peace, the peace that passes all understanding. It is in the stillness that we can hear God’s voice and feel the overwhelming love and affection that God pours over us. It is in the stillness that we can know God’s will for our lives. Let’s pause for a moment and just be.
Almighty God, you amaze us with how vast your love for us is. We thank you and praise your name for the great things you have done in our lives. Help us to find the quiet place, a place of solace and security, where we can just be in your wonderful presence. In this stillness, let us open our hearts and minds to you, giving up all the worries, anxiousness, hurt and fear. Please take away these things and give us peace and comfort in their place, knowing that you have cared for us and all of these worries.
Help us to hear your voice and to know your will; open our eyes to the path you wish for us to walk. Restore us and give us strength to do the work you have set out for us. Thank you for the reminders of the beauty that you have created in the stillness – the brilliant sunrise and sunset, the scent of the earth after rain, the feel of the gentle breeze on our skin. And out of the stillness we can enjoy the songs of the birds, and spring peepers, the laughter of children as they play. We miss these gifts when we are busy and noisy. Thank you for the moments when we can pause and experience them.
Thank you for the good work you have done in our lives and in the lives of our loved ones who are experiencing tumult and strife. Please help them to be still, so that they might know you and experience the peace you have for them. We lift up D, A, H, A, C, T, R, D, A, T, S, P, J, K, H, N, M, K, J for peace and stillness in their lives.
Thank you for the healing we have experienced this week. Please continue to protect and give strength to healthcare workers and care givers. You love and compassion shine through their actions. We lift up those in need of continued healing: L, B, A, W, T, M, J, C, J, D, D, C, I, V, J, S, H, J, M, E, T, S, G, S, G, C, M, D, B, J, E, C, N, D, H, G.
Thank you for the shelter you give us in the peaceful stillness. We praise you and thank you for our Lord, Jesus, in whose name we pray. Amen.

Join us in praying for hope and healing.

Christ died for us. This powerful truth gives us great hope. Our sins are washed away by the death and resurrection of Jesus. And although we just celebrated this highest of holy days, we can revel in the resurrection every day. With his sacrifice, Jesus gave us victory over death. We can live in service and honor, finding freedom in God’s will. But that does not prevent us from experiencing pain and suffering. In fact, when we are in God’s will, we should expect it. But how we respond to difficulty reveals our understanding of what is to come. So, take heart! The best is yet to come. Let’s walk together, helping and encouraging one another along this path.
Lord, we come before you, grateful for the many blessings you have given us. Thank you for the sacrifice of Jesus and the freedom from sin that we have received, even though we are unworthy. Thank you for love that is so great, that you never give up on us!
We love you for continuing to come after us when we stray, and picking us up when we stumble. Help us to be compassionate and merciful to others, as an example of your love here on earth.
Thank you for the healing and improvements we experienced this week. Thank you for the helpers and caregivers. You have blessed them with great strength, compassion and wisdom. Please continue healing those suffering from COVID and help calm us as we continue to fight this disease. We lift up T, M, B, A, W, L, J, C, J, D, D, C, I, V, J, S, H, J, M, E, T, S, G, S, G, C, M, D, B, J, E, C, D, N, H, G for healing and freedom from pain.
Thank you for the hope you have given us through Jesus. This is a great comfort in our grief. Please comfort the family and friends of L on his passing. Thank you also for the hope and encouragement in the lives of our friends and loved ones who are having difficulty navigating troubled waters: D, A, H, A, C, T, R, D, A, T, S, P, J, K, H, N, M. Continue to shine your light on their paths.
Your hope and your comfort give us the strength to continue on through difficult times. We praise you for this amazing love and pray all of this in the name of Jesus, our Savior. Amen.

He is risen indeed! Wishing you many blessings on this Easter Day.

Praying for hope and healing during this Holy Week.

Do you know this hymn? The first verse: “What wondrous love is this… that caused the Lord of bliss, to bear the dreadful curse for my soul…” It is often sung on Good Friday because it sings of the way Jesus took on all of our sins and wiped our slates clean. In a day of torment and agony, he went to the cross to free us and give us hope for a life beyond this one. Through all of the changes, challenges, grief, illness, joy and celebrations of this past year, one thing remains constant, we are beloved children of God, forgiven and free! What wondrous love is this? (A video of this song is posted in the comments)
Lord, your love is amazing beyond our comprehension. We praise you and thank you for the great gift of Jesus, who died so that we may live. Thank you for the hope you give us every day. It’s a fresh new hope, a new opportunity to live in your will and be loved by you.
God of all Hope, thank you for the healing we have experienced this week. We have loved ones who are still suffering and we lift up T, M, P, M, L, J, B, C, R, J, D, D, C, I, V, J, S, H, J, E, M, T, S, G, S, G, C, M, D, B, J, E, C, N, D, H, G, L for your healing love.
Thank you for the help you’ve given and light you have shone on the lives of D, A, H, A, C, T, R, D, A, T, S, P, J, K, H, N, M. Your love has helped them through some difficult times.
Our hope is in you, Lord. We sing praise for your great love and the sacrifice of your son Jesus; it is in His name we pray. Amen. 03/28/2021

Pray with us, for healing and help!

This world is broken and needs healing. That healing will come from the redemption that we seek as individuals. During these last weeks of lent, let’s daily come humbly before God to confess and repent of our sins, while praising God’s goodness. Let’s also not forget to pray for our brothers and sisters who need healing, both physical and spiritual.
Precious Lord, you have been so good to us. Thank you for Jesus. Thank you for continuing to seek after us, even as we turn away. We confess that we haven’t always done things your way or listened to your call, and that we knowingly have gone against your will. Please forgive us and help us to hear your guiding voice.
Thank you for the physical healing this week, for relief from pain and recovery from illness. We are in need of more healing. Many are still recovering from COVID and other illnesses and trauma. Many are in great pain. Please continue to give healing to L, T, M, P, M, J, B, C, R, J, D, D, C, I, V, J, S, J, M, E, T, S, G, S, G, C, M, H, D, B, J, E, C, N, D, H, G, L.
You give us hope in times of trial and grief. Comfort the family of N and give them hope in the life he now has with you.
Thank you for the help you’ve given our brothers and sisters who are having difficulty with life. Please continue to give spiritual and emotional healing and wisdom to D, A, H, A, C, T, R, D, A, T, S, P, H, K, H, N, M. Guide them and help them navigate the troubled waters.
Your mercy is beyond our understanding and your love is overwhelming. Thank you for the forgiveness that we do not deserve. We pray this all in the name of Jesus, our Healer and our Savior. Amen.

And we have the greatest Comforter of all – the one who gave us life and everything in it. He is always ready to wrap us in His arms to ease the pain and stress that we feel bringing us down. We just need to call on God, and be comforted in a way that can only come from knowing Him.
