I'm writing this post in hopes that someone can help me with some church history. I am searching for a friend's family. I will start with his Great Uncle Truman Hopkins. He built the church with Virgil Hendrix. Truman's wife Margaret deeded the land & she named the church. She was church clerk & treasurer. Truman & Margaret were charter members. Truman was a deacon & later church pastor. I'm confused with the Bethel Churches. This one is up on Hwy C & the other one is on County Road 628. Are these 2 churches one and the same? Is the old church still standing? Does anyone remember Truman? Thank you & sorry for going on with my family history questions but I have been searching for Truman's paternal Grandparents for years. I was born in Advance, Mo in 1948. You may know my cousin, Wanda Johns. Her and her husband James Johns Pastored the Assembly of God Church in Greenbrier, he is deceased. Her Parents were Bessie and Walter Talbert. I think your recently had our friends singing at your church, "The Wanda Mountain Boys". Know them well.

Clippard, namesake of local school, dies at 90

Bro. Charley will be greatly missed at Bethel and in our community. He was a wonderful person and a joy to know and he loved the Lord. He was also a very good historian on the subject of Greenbrier, MO, where he grew up. Plus, he had a great sense of humor! Prayers and condolences to his family. The namesake of a Cape Girardeau school has died. Charles C. Clippard died Friday. He was 90. Clippard was a longtime principal at Hawthorn Elementary School, 2800 Hopper Road, and upon his retirement in 1991, the school district's board voted to rename the school in his honor...

Blessed Palm Sunday 🌴 Nothing can seprate us from the love of God

[04/05/20]   Services at Bethel have been postponed until further notice. We had hoped to be back in session for Easter Sunday, but that is not happening with the Covid-19 virus still having a major effect on any type of gatherings. So keep praying that this will soon pass and we can gather with our brothers and sisters in Christ and worship together. Until then, pray and study God's Word and worship at home with your family. Pray for the needs all those affected by this virus, whether it's physical, spiritual, or financial.

On Easter Sunday, Bro. Fred will have a video message posted on our page. Also at 3:00 pm on Sundays, you can listen to him on KMHM radio 104.1 FM. The radio broadcasts will be previously recorded programs until we are allowed to resume church services. (updated 4-6-2020)

We hope to see you soon! May God bless you and keep you safe!

We received this flyer in the mail today from the CEO and founder of Premier Physical Therapy, Dennis Riney. The message was so good and appropriate for these difficult times that I really wanted to share it. So I called and got permission to share this on Bethel's page.

When Gracie was 9 years old, she wrote this song. ALL BY HERSELF. She had been through a severe asthma attack and ICU stay, and writing this song helped her process everything. We were talking about it today and decided this message is perfect for this moment in time. We need to turn our cares into prayers. And turn our worry into trusting.
What a songwriter. What a girl. And yes, as you can imagine, I AM A MESS. Also - she has never sung in front of anyone. Ever. She’s always been terrified. So the fact she allowed me to post this is huge. I am so proud of you Gracie girl. You’re brave. And your song will touch the heart of so many people.
